Crisis at the Castle
The floor suddenly and without warning cracked, revealing a massive black hole beneath their feet, like the mouth of a ferocious beast. A powerful, irresistible suction surged from the endless darkness. Lin Yu, Suna, and Lao Chen only had time to utter a brief cry of surprise before their bodies, like falling leaves, plummeted toward the black hole.
"Ah!" Suna's scream rang out sharply in the darkness. Her heart seemed to be gripped tightly by an icy hand. Fear overwhelmed her mind like a tide. She waved her hands wildly in the air, trying to grab anything that could save her life, but all around her was nothing but darkness and the relentless suction.
Lin Yu's mind went blank for a moment, but his years of combat experience allowed him to react quickly. He stretched his arms desperately, his fingers desperately clawing at the edge of the crack in the ground. His nails broke under the immense force, bleeding, but the negligible resistance was no match for his fall. "Damn it!" he cursed, his heart filled with resentment and despair.
Old Chen closed his eyes tightly. At this critical moment, he prayed silently in his heart: "God bless us and help us get through this crisis." His body kept rolling in the darkness, and his stomach was churning.
Just as they thought they were about to plummet into an endless, dark abyss, the three of them fell one after another into a mucus-filled underground cavern. Their bodies slammed heavily onto the sticky ground with a thud. A pungent odor instantly filled the air, a pungent mixture of decay and chemicals that made their stomachs churn and nearly vomit.
"Ahem, is everyone okay?" Lin Yu asked while coughing violently and struggling to get up from the ground. His voice was particularly dull and trembling in this closed space.
"I'm fine, but what the hell is this place?" Suna cried, shaking the disgusting slime from her hands in disgust. Each shake unleashed a string of sticky threads, shimmering with a creepy luster in the dim light. Her heart pounded like a drum, and fear made her body tremble continuously. She bit her lip tightly, trying hard not to cry out.
Old Chen struggled to his feet, his clothes soaked in slime and weighing him down. "Let's not worry about anything else for now. Let's find a way out." His voice was firm, but his heart was filled with fear and anxiety. He knew that in such an unknown and terrifying place, every moment he stayed there would only increase the danger.
Using the faint light filtering through the cracks above, they began to cautiously grope their way forward. The cave walls were slippery and cold, and from time to time, strange creatures would crawl across them, making rustling sounds. The shapes of these creatures were blurry, leaving only a series of rapidly moving shadows, which kept people's nerves on edge.
"This place is so scary. It feels like danger could happen at any moment." Suna followed Lin Yu closely, her voice trembling. Her eyes were wide open, filled with fear and helplessness. Various horrific scenes kept appearing in her mind, and every step she took seemed like she was stepping into the abyss of death.
Lin Yu turned his head and gave Suna a resolute look. "Don't be afraid, we will definitely find a way out." His voice was low but full of strength. However, deep down in his heart, he was also filled with fear and uncertainty. But he knew that as the core of this small team, he had to remain strong and calm and bring hope to his teammates.
Suddenly, there was a sound of heavy footsteps coming from the front, and the ground shook slightly. The footsteps were like a huge hammer hitting the ground, and each one was terrifying.
"What is that?" Old Chen gripped his weapon tightly, his voice hoarse with nervousness. His eyes were fixed on the darkness ahead, and sweat from his forehead kept dripping, merging into the slime under his feet.
A gigantic figure gradually emerged. It turned out to be a massive spider. Its body almost took up the entire passageway, and its eight long legs, like thick tree trunks, were covered in sharp thorns. Its eyes flashed an eerie green light, and its fangs were covered in a sticky liquid, which dripped onto the ground with a "tick-tick" sound.
"Not good, prepare for battle!" Lin Yu shouted, his voice full of determination. His heartbeat instantly accelerated, and blood rushed to his head, but his hands tightly grasped the weapon, and his eyes revealed fearless courage.
The spider swiftly pounced towards them, stirring up a gust of fishy air. Lin Yu dodged sideways, nimble as a cat. In the instant he dodged, he swung his weapon and slashed fiercely at the spider's legs. The sharp blade collided with the spider's hard shell, sending up a shower of sparks.
The spider screamed in pain, the sound seemed to penetrate the human soul and make people's ears buzz. Its attack became more frantic, and its long legs stabbed at Lin Yu and the others like lightning.
Suna took a deep breath, trying to calm her fear. She cast a spell, and brilliant light shone between her hands. Rays of light shot towards the spider like sharp swords, but the spider seemed to have strong defenses. When the light touched its body, it only caused a faint ripple, causing very limited damage.
"Damn, this thing's defense is too strong!" Suna said gritting her teeth. Her forehead was covered with sweat, and the consumption of magic made her feel tired.
Old Chen nervously observed the spider's movements, searching for its weak spot. "Attack its abdomen, that might be its weak spot!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the cave.
