Chapter 133 The Mysterious Giant Salamander Mission

After lifting the forest curse, Lin Yu and Suna thought they could finally live a peaceful and tranquil life. However, fate seems to have continued to turn the wheels. One day, they suddenly received a mysterious invitation and were recruited by a mysterious organization called Bureau 749.

"Lin Yu, what exactly is this 749th Bureau doing? Why are they targeting us?" Su Na asked, perplexed, as she sat by the window, gazing out at the bustling streets. Her brow furrowed, her eyes revealing unease and confusion. Sunlight streamed through the window onto her face, but it couldn't dispel the gloom in her heart.

Lin Yu paced back and forth in the room, his arms folded across his chest, lost in thought. "I'm not entirely sure, but since they invited us, they must have been impressed by our previous experience in the forest. Perhaps they believe we're capable of handling some unique situations." He paused and looked at Suna, his gaze firm.

Soon, they received their first mission after joining Bureau 749, which was to investigate a mysterious incident related to giant salamanders.

"Giant salamander? Isn't it just a giant salamander? What's so mysterious about it?" Suna asked in confusion, her voice rising a few notches, her face filled with bewilderment. She couldn't understand how an ordinary giant salamander could trigger such a mysterious event.

Lin Yu shook his head and said seriously: "I don't know, but it doesn't seem that simple. It is said that someone found an abnormally large giant salamander in a remote mountain village, and its behavior was very strange." His eyes flashed with curiosity and vigilance, as if he had already sensed the unusualness of this mission.

After several hours of bumpy rides along the winding mountain road in an old jeep, they finally arrived at the legendary mountain village. Nestled in a valley, surrounded by towering peaks, the village seemed exceptionally quiet. A mysterious atmosphere permeated the village, as if shrouded in an invisible mist.

When the villagers saw them, their eyes were filled with vigilance and fear. They stood at their doorsteps, whispering to each other but not daring to approach.

"Excuse me, have you seen that strange giant salamander?" Lin Yu asked a villager with a weathered face, his voice gentle and sincere.

The villager quickly shook his head, a trace of panic flashed in his eyes, and he hurriedly turned and walked into the house and closed the door.

Suna sighed helplessly, "It seems that the villagers are unwilling to talk." There was a hint of frustration in her voice.

Lin Yu comforted him, "Don't worry, maybe they are afraid of something. Let's look for them again."

They asked around in the village, but every villager avoided them, as if they were messengers of misfortune.

At this moment, they heard a shrill cry coming from the cave behind the village. The cry echoed in the valley, making people shudder.

"What's that sound?" Su Na's face turned pale in an instant, and her hands tightly grasped Lin Yu's arm.

Lin Yu's heartbeat suddenly quickened. "I don't know, but it sounds like it's coming from that cave. Let's go check it out."

They walked along a narrow path toward the cave. The trees beside the path intertwined their branches, casting a gloomy shadow. The breeze rustled the leaves, as if whispering some secret.

"Lin Yu, I'm a little scared." Su Na's voice trembled and her steps became slower and slower.

"Don't be afraid, Suna, I'm here." Lin Yu held Suna's hand tightly, giving her a little warmth and courage.

When they arrived at the cave, a cold air hit them. A thin layer of mist filled the cave entrance, making it difficult to see what was inside.

"Be careful, Suna." Lin Yu walked into the cave cautiously, holding a flashlight in his hand, and the faint light swayed in the darkness.

The cave was filled with a damp and rotten smell, and the ground was covered with wet stones and mud. Their footsteps echoed in the empty cave, appearing particularly clear.

"This place is so scary." Su Na's voice trembled. She followed Lin Yu closely, not daring to move a step.

Suddenly, the flashlight illuminated a huge figure.

"What is that?" Suna screamed.

Lin Yu's breathing stopped instantly. He looked closely and saw a giant salamander appeared in front of them. The skin of the giant salamander was rough and gray, and its eyes were flashing with a strange light.

"Don't be afraid, Suna, maybe it won't hurt us." Although Lin Yu said this, he held the flashlight tighter in his hand.

The giant salamander opened its mouth and let out a deep roar that echoed through the cave, making their ears buzz.

"Lin Yu, what should we do?" Su Na's voice was tearful.

Lin Yu took a deep breath and said, "Let's retreat slowly and don't provoke it."

They slowly retreated, but the giant salamander kept pressing forward. Just as they were about to retreat to the cave entrance, the giant salamander suddenly attacked...
