Chapter 151: Deep into the Mystery

Into the Mystery

After bidding farewell to the mysterious old man, Lin Yu and Suna embarked on a difficult journey to find the truth behind the Nine Dragon Coffin. Following the vague clues provided by the old man, they traveled through mountains and ridges, and finally arrived at an ancient temple.

Hidden deep within the mountains, this temple seemed lost in the world. A thick fog, like insoluble ink, enveloped the temple in a mysterious and eerie atmosphere. Ancient stone paths twisted and turned, flanked by tall, shadowy trees whose intertwined branches formed a natural canopy, nearly blocking out sunlight. The occasional chirp of an unknown bird pierced the silence, adding a touch of eeriness.

The temple's main door was tightly shut, its copper ring rusted, its surface mottled with age, as if it hadn't been opened in years. The door, tall and heavy, exuded an ancient and solemn aura that instilled awe.

"Lin Yu, I feel like there's an evil aura here." Su Na leaned close to Lin Yu, her voice trembling, her body shaking slightly, her hands tightly grasping the corners of Lin Yu's clothes. Her eyes were filled with fear and anxiety, and her gaze wandered between the surrounding fog and the ancient buildings.

"Don't be afraid, Suna, we just need to be careful." Lin Yu took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He could feel his heartbeat quickening, but he knew he had to remain calm and give Suna support. He gently patted Suna's hand to show his comfort.

Lin Yu walked forward, raised his hand, and gently knocked on the closed door. His knocks were particularly clear in the silence, echoing in the mist, as if infinitely amplified. Each knock seemed to strike at their tense nerves, bringing a tremor of anxiety.

However, no one responded for a long time. All around was a deathly silence, the knocking sound seemingly swallowed up by the silence, leaving no trace. Lin Yu and Suna's mood grew increasingly heavy, and they began to wonder if they had come to the wrong place.

Just as they were about to turn and leave, the door creaked open. The sound was particularly harsh in the silence, like a sigh from ancient times. A stale smell, carrying the dust of time and the smell of decay, hit them in the face, making them cover their mouths and noses.

A hunchbacked old monk appeared at the door, his figure blurred in the dim light. His back was severely hunched, as if burdened by the weight of time. His eyes were cloudy, as if he had seen through the vicissitudes of life. His face was covered with deep wrinkles, like a dry riverbed.

"What are you doing here?" The old monk's voice was low and hoarse, as if it was echoing from deep underground. His eyes swept over Lin Yu and Su Na without any emotion.

Lin Yu said respectfully: "Master, we are exploring the secret of the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin. I heard that there may be clues here." There was a hint of eagerness and expectation in his voice. He stared at the old monk's face, trying to catch a glimmer of hope from his expression.

The old monk was silent for a moment, his eyes becoming deep and distant, as if lost in distant memories. Then, he slowly stepped aside to let them in.

The temple was dimly lit, a few oil lamps flickering in the corners, barely illuminating the small space around them. The gold lacquer on the Buddha statues had peeled, revealing the mottled wood beneath, making them appear somewhat dilapidated. The murals on the walls were faded and blurred, leaving only a few faint traces of ancient patterns.

"Nine dragons pulling the coffin is a very bad omen. Your insistence on exploring it could bring you fatal consequences," the old monk said as he slowly walked toward an oil lamp and lit it with trembling hands. The dim light cast a swaying shadow on his face, making his expression even more mysterious.

"But we have made up our minds, and we still hope for Master's guidance." Suna said, her voice firm, but one could still hear the fear and uneasiness in it. She stared at the old monk with a determined light in her eyes.

The old monk sighed, a sigh that seemed to span a thousand years, filled with helplessness and sorrow. "In that case, follow me." He turned and, with a stumbling step, walked towards the depths of the temple.

Lin Yu and Suna followed closely behind, their footsteps echoing in the empty temple, as if they were the only sign of life in the silence.

The old monk led them to a secret room. The door was tightly closed, and strange symbols and patterns were carved on it, like a mysterious seal. The old monk took out an ancient key from his pocket, inserted it into the keyhole, and gently turned it.

With a dull sound, the door slowly opened, and an old smell mixed with a mysterious power rushed towards him.

The walls of the secret room were covered with densely packed strange symbols and patterns, some resembling ancient texts, others mysterious totems. The carvings on the walls varied in depth, as if they had been carved with the painstaking efforts and lives of countless people.

"These are the records related to the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin, but whether you can understand them depends on your luck." The old monk said this and turned to leave. His figure gradually faded away in the dim light, eventually disappearing into the darkness.

Lin Yu and Suna looked at each other, and then began to carefully study the contents on the wall. The symbols and patterns on the wall were complex and mysterious, making them feel dazzled.

"Lin Yu, what does this mean?" Su Na frowned, her face full of confusion.

"I'm not sure either, but we have to think about it carefully." Lin Yu's eyes were focused and firm, his fingers gently touching the marks on the wall, trying to find some clues from it.

They were so immersed in the study of these mysterious symbols that time seemed to stand still.

At this moment, a sudden commotion erupted from outside the temple. The sound, coming from far away, gradually approached, as if many people were approaching. The cacophony of footsteps, shouts, and the clash of weapons mingled, shattering the temple's tranquility.

"What's going on?" Su Na looked at Lin Yu in horror.

Lin Yu's expression became serious. "I don't know, but it's definitely not a good thing."

They listened nervously to the noise outside, their hearts filled with anxiety and fear.

Suddenly, the door of the secret room was flung open, and a group of people dressed in black rushed in. They were wearing masks, so their faces could not be seen clearly, but their eyes revealed ferocity and murderous intent.

"Who are you?" Lin Yu shouted loudly.

"Hmph, don't worry about who we are, hand over the clues you found!" said the leading man in black coldly.

Lin Yu and Suna huddled together, "Don't even think about it!"

A fierce fight is about to begin...
