Chapter 156: A New Journey

A New Journey

The car sped along, its wheels spinning rapidly on the road, kicking up a cloud of dust. The scenery outside the car window was like a moving scroll, constantly changing. But Lin Yu and Suna had no time to appreciate it. Their bodies and minds were occupied by fatigue and tension.

Finally, the car slowly stopped at the edge of a quiet town. Surrounded by verdant mountains and clear waters, the town felt as peaceful and tranquil as a paradise. But Lin Yu and Suna couldn't relax despite the beautiful scenery.

Lin Yu and Suna followed the old man into a quaint little house. Although the house looked a little old, it had a unique charm. The wooden sign at the door swayed gently in the breeze, making a creaking sound.

As I walked into the house, a light woody scent filled my nostrils. The interior was simple yet warm, with wooden furniture bearing the marks of time. Old photographs hung on the walls, seemingly telling stories of the past. A worn carpet covered the floor, giving it a soft feel with every step.

"Children, it is safe here for the time being. You should have a good rest first." The old man said, his voice gentle and kind, making people feel extremely at ease.

Lin Yu and Suna nodded gratefully, their eyes full of fatigue and gratitude. At this moment, they didn't want to think about anything else, just wanted to have a good sleep and forget all the fear and pain.

The physical and mental exhaustion was like a heavy shackle that quickly made them fall asleep. In their dreams, they were still running in the darkness, chased by fear, but there was always a faint light guiding them ahead.

When they woke up, it was already early morning. Warm sunlight streamed through the window, gently casting a light on their faces, bringing a sense of warmth and comfort. Lin Yu slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to the soft light. He turned to look at Suna and found she was still sound asleep, a trace of tranquility on her face.

Lin Yu got up gently, trying not to wake Suna. He walked out of the room and into the living room, where he saw the old man busy in the yard. The yard was filled with a variety of flowers and plants, and the colorful flowers swayed gently in the breeze, emitting bursts of fragrance.

"Are you awake? Come and have something to eat." The old man greeted them with a kind smile on his face. He was holding a kettle in his hand and was watering the flowers and plants.

Lin Yu walked into the yard, took a deep breath of the fresh air, and felt the tranquility and beauty.

They arrived at the dining table and saw it was filled with simple yet delicious food. There was freshly baked bread, steaming porridge, and some homemade side dishes. Lin Yu and Suna felt hungry when they saw the food, and they devoured it greedily.

"Eat slowly, don't choke." The old man said with a smile, his eyes full of care.

Lin Yu raised his head, his mouth full of food, and said incoherently: "It's delicious, thank you."

Suna also said: "Yes, I haven't eaten such delicious food for a long time."

After dinner, they sat on chairs in the yard and enjoyed the moment of tranquility.

"What are your plans next?" the old man asked, his eyes becoming serious.

Lin Yu pondered for a moment, raised his head, and said with a firm look: "We want to solve those troubles completely and no one else can be threatened. Those dark forces can no longer act recklessly. We must fight for justice." His voice was full of determination and courage.

Su Na also nodded firmly and said, "I agree with Lin Yu's idea. We can't keep running away. We must face it bravely." There was a firm light in her eyes.

The old man smiled slightly, with an admiring look in his eyes: "In that case, I can provide you with some help." As he said that, the old man walked into the house and took out a yellowed notebook. The cover of the notebook was worn and the paper was a little yellowed, but it was well preserved.

"This may be of use to you," the old man said, a hint of mystery in his voice.

Lin Yu and Su Na took the notebook and carefully opened it. Although the handwriting was a little blurry, it recorded some unknown secrets. Their eyes were focused and serious, as if they were searching for the key to solving a mystery.

"Thank you, old man. We will definitely make good use of it." Lin Yu said.

Suna also said: "Your help is very important to us."

After bidding farewell to the old man, Lin Yu and Suna set out on their journey again. Their backs, bathed in the sunlight, appeared resolute and courageous. This time, they were no longer passively escaping, but actively facing the unknown challenge.

Lin Yu and Suna walked along the winding road on the edge of town, their hearts filled with both nervousness and anticipation.

"Lin Yu, do you think we can succeed?" Suna asked, with a hint of worry in her voice.

Lin Yu held Su Na's hand and said, "Believe me, as long as we unite as one, we will be able to overcome the difficulties."

Their footsteps echoed on the silent road, as if accompanying their firm belief in their hearts.

Suddenly, a cold wind blew, and the trees on both sides of the road rustled, as if they were hiding countless dangers.

"This wind is a bit strange." Su Na grabbed Lin Yu's arm tightly.

Lin Yu looked around vigilantly and said, "Be careful, something might happen."

As they continued on, the road ahead became increasingly eerie and terrifying. The thick fog made it difficult to see the road ahead.

"Something doesn't feel right about this place." Lin Yu's heartbeat began to accelerate.

Just then, a dark shadow passed by them.

"Who?" Lin Yu shouted loudly.

But only their voices echoed in the air, without any response.

Lin Yu and Suna's nerves were stretched to the limit. They didn't know what terrible things would happen next. But they didn't stop, because the faith in their hearts supported them, allowing them to move forward bravely and fearlessly.
