Chapter 159: Mysterious Forest

Mysterious Forest

Hearing that deep roar, Lin Yu and Suna tensed, their hearts gripped by an invisible hand. They paused, their ears pricked, their muscles tensed, their nerves like a taut bowstring. The roar echoed through the forest, carrying a primal, wild power, as if emanating from an ancient beast, making their blood freeze.

"That sound seems to be coming from over there," Lin Yu said, pointing deep into the forest. His voice was low and trembling. His eyes were fixed in that direction, filled with fear and vigilance, but also with a hint of determination and resolve. He knew they had no choice but to move forward into the unknown danger.

"Lin Yu, should we keep going? It might be even more dangerous ahead." Suna's voice was filled with fear and hesitation. Her face was as pale as paper, and her lips trembled slightly. Her eyes were filled with fear of the unknown, as if countless demons were hiding in the depths of the forest, ready to devour them at any moment. She clutched the corner of Lin Yu's clothes tightly, as if it was her only support in this terrifying world.

Lin Yu turned his head and looked into Suna's fearful eyes, his heart aching. He took a deep breath and tried to sound more resolute: "Suna, we have no way out. If we stop here, we will die. Only by moving forward can we have a chance of survival." Although his voice was firm, his heart was actually filled with fear and anxiety. However, he knew he had to be strong, for Suna, and for their survival.

Suna bit her lip, a trace of struggle flashed in her eyes. She knew that Lin Yu was right, and they had no other choice. She nodded and said in a trembling voice, "Okay, then let's go together."

The two continued forward, each step cautiously chosen. The atmosphere in the forest grew increasingly eerie, the silence suffocating. Aside from their own footsteps and breathing, no other sound could be heard. It was as if the entire world had fallen into a dead silence, leaving only the two lonely figures groping in the darkness.

Suddenly, a colorful bird flew over their heads. Its wings made a sharp sound as they sliced through the air. Suna was caught off guard and screamed in fear at the sudden movement.

"It's just a bird, don't be afraid," Lin Yu quickly comforted. He gently patted Suna's shoulder, trying to calm her down. But his own heartbeat also accelerated rapidly due to the sudden fright.

They continued their journey through this mysterious forest, deeper and deeper into it. The trees grew denser and denser, their branches and leaves intertwining to form a green canopy that almost completely blocked out the sunlight. A light mist permeated the forest, further obscuring their vision. Every tree seemed like a vast mystery, and every shadow seemed to conceal an unknown danger.

At this moment, they spotted a dilapidated wooden house ahead. It looked very old, with rotten planks on the walls and a thatched roof. A faint mist hung around the house, making it seem even more mysterious and eerie.

"Is there anyone in this cabin?" Suna asked softly, her voice was particularly clear in the silent forest. Her eyes were fixed on the cabin, her heart filled with curiosity and fear.

"I don't know. Let's get closer and take a look." Lin Yu walked ahead cautiously, holding the wooden stick tightly in his hand, as if it was his only weapon. His steps were very light, for fear of disturbing anything that might be in the wooden house.

As they approached the cabin, the door suddenly creaked open. A cold breeze blew out from inside, carrying with it a stale, decayed air that sent chills down one's spine. Lin Yu and Suna exchanged glances, each seeing deep fear and hesitation in the other's eyes.

"Lin Yu, I... I'm a little afraid to go in." Su Na's voice was obviously trembling.

"Don't be afraid, Suna, I'll go in first. If there's no danger, you can come in." Lin Yu took a deep breath and said with courage. He walked slowly into the wooden house, every step full of caution.

The room was filled with a strong smell of dust and dimly lit. Lin Yu saw a shabby bed in the corner, its bedding tattered and in tatters. Strange animal furs hung on the walls, giving him a chilling feeling. Suddenly, a rat scurried past his feet, nearly scaring him to the point of screaming.

"Lin Yu, how is it?" Suna asked anxiously outside the door.

"No danger has been found yet, come in." Lin Yu said.

Suna walked into the wooden house carefully, following closely behind Lin Yu. They looked around the house, hoping to find something useful. Just then, they heard a strange sound coming from the roof, as if something was crawling on it.

"What's that sound?" Suna's voice was full of fear.

Lin Yu looked up at the rooftop, feeling uneasy. "I don't know, but we have to get out of here quickly."

They hurried to the door, but when they got there, it suddenly closed. They pulled hard, but the door didn't budge.

"What's going on?" Suna's voice was filled with tears.

"Don't panic, we will definitely find a way out." Lin Yu comforted Suna while looking for other exits.

At this moment, a low breathing sound came from the depths of the wooden house...
