The Mysterious Exit
The light from the black stone grew fainter, like a candle in the wind, ready to go out at any moment. Lin Yu and Suna stared intently at the fading light, their hearts burning with anxiety.
"Lin Yu, this light is about to disappear. Can we still get out?" Su Na cried desperately, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness, tears welling up in her eyes. Her body trembled with fear, like a leaf swaying in the wind.
Lin Yu's forehead was covered in sweat, and his heartbeat was like a fierce drumbeat. But he forced himself to remain calm, continuing to fumble for the symbols on the wall while comforting her, "Yes, we will find a way. Suna, believe me, we've been through so much, we won't be trapped here." His voice was firm, but his heart was filled with unease and anxiety.
Just as the light from the black stone was about to disappear, the weak light could barely illuminate the surroundings. Lin Yu frantically groped for the wall, and just when he was about to give up, his fingers suddenly touched a distinctive bump.
"Suna, look, this might be the key!" Lin Yu shouted excitedly, his voice filled with a hint of excitement that was hard to conceal. His eyes flashed with hope in the darkness, as if a drowning man had grasped the last straw to save his life.
Together, they pressed the trigger, and a dull roar echoed, like the roar of a long-sleeping beast awakened. A crack slowly opened in the wall. It was narrow at first, but as the mechanism operated, it gradually widened. A faint ray of light filtered through the crack. Though faint, it was like the first light of dawn amidst the endless darkness, bringing them infinite hope.
"It's the exit!" Suna shouted excitedly, her voice shrill with excitement. A long-lost smile bloomed on her face, as if she had seen a beacon of life in the darkness.
However, as they prepared to pass through the gap, they heard an even more terrifying roar behind them. The roar was deafening, as if it would shake the entire attic down. The sound waves echoed in the darkness, shocking their hearts.
"What is this?" Suna turned pale with fear. Her smile froze instantly and she stepped back involuntarily. Her eyes widened in horror, as if she had seen the end of the world.
Lin Yu looked back and saw a huge figure approaching them in the darkness. The figure was tall and twisted, emitting an evil aura. Its outline was vague, but from the huge body and heavy footsteps, it could be judged that it was an extremely terrifying existence.
"Never mind, let's get out first!" Lin Yu shouted, his voice full of determination. He pulled Suna and rushed towards the gap without hesitation.
Their footsteps echoed in the darkness, intertwined with the terrifying roar behind them, forming a creepy symphony. Lin Yu held Su Na's wrist tightly, fearing that she would get lost in the chaos.
"Lin Yu, I can't run anymore!" Su Na's voice was filled with tears, her breathing was rapid and disordered, and her steps became staggering.
"Hold on, Suna! We're almost there!" Lin Yu encouraged, his eyes fixed firmly on the exit ahead, with only one thought in his mind: he must take Suna and escape.
The figure behind him was getting closer and closer, its breathing sounded like a howling wind, carrying a strong fishy smell. Lin Yu could feel the evil aura chasing them closely, as if it would devour them at any time.
"Ah!" Suna screamed and almost fell down.
Lin Yu pulled her up with force, "Don't stop!"
Finally, they arrived at the gap. Lin Yu pushed Su Na out first, and then quickly got out himself.
The moment they walked out of the attic, the sun shone on them, warm and bright. But their hearts were still filled with fear, and they dared not relax at all.
"We...we escaped?" Suna said in disbelief, her body still trembling.
Lin Yu looked at the mysterious attic behind him and took a deep breath. "Yes, we escaped. But it's not over yet..."
They stood in the sunshine, yet a chill still rose from the depths of their hearts. The horrific experience in the attic would be forever etched in their memories. And they knew that there were still more mysteries waiting for them to solve in the future...
