Secrets of the Laboratory
The eerie laughter echoed through the forest, like the wailing of countless vengeful spirits, or the whispers of demons from the depths of the abyss. Like sharp icy spikes, the laughter pierced directly into the hearts of Lin Yu, Suna, and Lao Chen, turning them pale in an instant. Fear spread through their bodies like an electric current, and every cell in their body trembled.
"Who the hell is this?" Lin Yu gritted his teeth, anger and fear mingling in his eyes. His hands gripped his weapon tightly, his knuckles turning white from the strain. They continued their journey through the forest, filled with a terrifying atmosphere. Every step felt like treading on the edge of a knife. The fallen leaves and rotting branches on the ground made a dull sound under their feet, like the groaning of the earth.
Finally, a massive building appeared before them. Hidden deep in the forest, it lay dilapidated, its walls covered in lush vines. Like giant green pythons, they tightly coiled around the structure, threatening to devour it. The gate, tightly closed, rusted iron, exuded an air of decay and mystery, as if resisting their approach.
"Is this the laboratory?" Suna asked in surprise, her voice trembling. She gazed at the eerie building, her heart filled with fear and curiosity. She imagined the horrific scenes that might be hidden behind the door, and she couldn't help but take a step back.
The hooded man nodded heavily: "Yes, there are many unknown secrets hidden in it." His eyes were fixed on the tightly closed door, as if he could see the darkness inside through it.
Just as they were about to push open the door, the heavy iron door slowly swung open, and a pungent chemical smell washed over them like a tide. The smell was strong and pungent, making them feel dizzy. The lights inside were dim, with only a few chandeliers flickering on and off, swaying from the ceiling and making a creaking sound, as if they would go out at any moment.
Lin Yu walked cautiously into the laboratory, each step filled with caution. His footsteps echoed in the empty lab, breaking the long silence. Suddenly, a vague figure emerged from a large glass container. The figure loomed in the dim light, like a ghost trapped in darkness.
"What is that?" Lao Chen asked nervously, his voice trembling. His eyes were fixed on the glass container, and his grip on the weapon in his hand tightened.
As they approached, the figure gradually became clearer. It was a humanoid creature, experimentally modified, its body twisted and deformed, its limbs disproportionately elongated and shortened. Its skin was a strange bluish-purple, covered in scars and needle pricks of varying sizes. Its eyes revealed despair and pain, as if telling them of endless suffering.
"It's too cruel." Suna couldn't help but cover her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes. She couldn't imagine what kind of torture this creature had suffered, and her heart was filled with sympathy and anger.
At this moment, a sharp alarm suddenly sounded in the laboratory, and red lights flashed wildly, illuminating the entire laboratory like a bloody cave.
"Oh no, we've triggered the alarm!" the hooded man shouted, his voice full of anxiety.
Then, a group of mysterious people in protective suits rushed in like ghosts and surrounded them in an instant. These mysterious people wore masks and goggles on their faces, so their faces could not be seen clearly, but one could feel the coldness and ruthlessness in their eyes.
"Who are you? How dare you break in here!" One of the mysterious men shouted sternly. His voice came through the mask, sounding dull and suppressed.
Lin Yu stepped forward, his eyes firm and brave: "We are here to uncover the secrets here and stop your evil deeds!" His voice echoed in the laboratory, full of justice and determination.
The mysterious man sneered: "Then don't even think about leaving alive!" As he said that, they all raised their weapons. Those weapons flashed with cold light, which made people shudder.
A fierce battle was about to break out. Lin Yu launched the first attack, rushing towards the enemy like a cheetah, brandishing his weapon with great vigor. The mysterious men reacted quickly, dispersing and engaging Lin Yu.
Suna was not to be outdone. She cast a spell, and rays of light shot out from her hands, illuminating the dark corners. The magic hit several mysterious people, and they fell to the ground with screams.
Lao Chen was shooting calmly on the side. His shooting was accurate and every shot hit the enemy's vital points.

Suna's magic consumed a lot of her physical strength. Her face was pale, but she still insisted: "I will cover you!"
The hooded man also joined the battle. With his agility and sharp movements, he fought a desperate battle with the mysterious man.
During the fierce battle, Lin Yu discovered a ventilation hole in the laboratory, which might be their only hope of escape.
