Chapter 170: The Mysterious Cave

The Mysterious Cave

The strange sound was getting closer and closer, like the whisper of a demon from the abyss. Every note was chilling, making Lin Yu and Suna's nerves tense to the extreme. They leaned back to back, their bodies pressed tightly together, trying to get a little warmth and courage from each other.

Lin Yu's heartbeat was like a rapid drumbeat, and his breathing became heavy and disordered. He gripped the torch tightly, the dancing flame trembling in the darkness, as if it would be swallowed by the endless blackness at any moment. His eyes were fixed on the front, not missing any slightest movement.

Suddenly, a dark shadow flashed past them. It was so fast, like a ghost, leaving only a blurry shadow.

"Ah!" Suna couldn't help but scream, her voice echoing in the cave, filled with endless fear and panic. Her body was shaking violently, as if she was in an ice cellar.

Lin Yu used the torch to shine in the direction where the shadow disappeared. The weak light seemed so small and powerless in the darkness. There was only endless darkness before his eyes, as if the shadow had never appeared.

"What the hell is this?" Lin Yu muttered to himself, his voice filled with confusion and fear. His mind raced, trying to guess the shadow's identity and purpose, but he had no clue.

Just then, they heard a low chant. It seemed to come from ancient times, carrying the weight of time and a mysterious power. The sound echoed through the cave, as if countless voices were chanting simultaneously, a chilling feeling.

"Lin Yu, I'm scared." Su Na's voice trembled, and her fingers were deeply embedded in Lin Yu's arm, as if only in this way could she feel a little safe.

Lin Yu took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. "Don't be afraid, Suna, let's find the source of the sound." His voice was firm, but his heart was also filled with fear. However, he knew that at this time, he had to remain calm, otherwise they would not be able to face the unknown danger.

They slowly walked in the direction of the sound, each step filled with caution and fear. The cave floor was damp and slippery, and they walked cautiously, fearing a fall. The surrounding walls shimmered with water droplets, as if countless pairs of eyes were watching them.

The further they went into the cave, the lower the temperature became. A chill rose from the soles of their feet and quickly spread throughout their bodies. Lin Yu could feel his teeth chattering, and Suna's body was completely frozen and could hardly move.

As they walked, they came to a spacious cavernous hall. Its dome soared into the clouds, its end indistinct in the darkness. Strange minerals inlaid on the walls emitted a faint glow, making the entire hall seem even more mysterious and eerie.

In the center of the hall stood an ancient stone platform, upon which sat a faintly glowing book. The light, like a dreamy mist, slowly flowed around the book, captivating the reader.

"What is that?" Suna asked in confusion, her voice sounding particularly small in the empty hall.

Lin Yu approached the stone platform cautiously, each step filled with awe and caution. When he saw the words on the book, his expression changed drastically. Those words were ancient and mysterious, as if they contained endless power and secrets.

"This is... the key to unlocking the mystery of Tangjiabao!" Lin Yu said excitedly, his voice filled with a hint of excitement that was hard to conceal. However, just as he reached out to take the book, a powerful force pushed him back.

His body flew backwards like a kite with a broken string and fell heavily to the ground.

"Lin Yu!" Suna exclaimed. She hurried over and helped Lin Yu up.

Lin Yu felt that his internal organs were churning and the pain made it almost impossible for him to breathe.

"What is going on?" He looked at the book, his eyes full of confusion and anger.

At this moment, the low chanting became louder, as if warning them not to act rashly.

"Suna, this may be dangerous, but we can't give up just like that." Lin Yu said gritting his teeth.

Suna nodded, looking at him firmly.

They tried to approach the stone platform again, but the powerful force came again, pushing them back again and again.

"Is it really impossible for us to get this book?" Suna said in despair.

Lin Yu looked at the book, and suddenly an idea came to his mind. "Maybe we need to find a way to crack this power."

They began searching the hall for clues, leaving no corner unturned. Strange patterns on the walls and mysterious symbols on the ground could all hold the key to solving the mystery.

Time passed by minute by minute, their physical strength was constantly depleted, but they still did not give up. Finally, Lin Yu found a stone tablet with words engraved on it in a corner.

"Suna, come and see!" Lin Yu shouted excitedly.

They carefully studied the words on the stone tablet, trying to decipher their meaning.

"So that's how it is!" Lin Yu suddenly realized.

They followed the instructions on the stone slab and walked towards the stone platform again. This time, when they reached out to take the book, the powerful force disappeared.

Lin Yu picked up the book with trembling hands, his heart filled with joy and anticipation. However, just when they thought everything was over, a violent tremor suddenly came from the cave...
