Counterattack
Lin Yu stared intently at the door, his palms slick with sweat, the very embodiment of fear and tension. He didn't blink, his breathing becoming shallow, as if he feared any movement would attract the attention of the mysterious figure outside. The air inside the warehouse seemed frozen, eerily quiet, with only the pounding of his own heartbeat echoing in his ears like a drum.
"Listen up, everyone inside! You have nowhere to escape!" A mysterious man's shout broke the silence. The voice echoed in the empty yard, carrying an undeniable threat. Lin Yu's heart suddenly tightened, as if it was being tightly grasped by an invisible hand.
Lin Yu lowered his voice to the others, saying, "Don't panic, find cover, and prepare for battle." Though his voice was deliberately low, the resolve within was clear and audible. His gaze swept over each of his companions, trying to convey courage and determination. He, too, was filled with fear, but he knew that as the group's backbone, he couldn't show it.
Suna hid behind a pile of boxes, her hands tightly gripping the magic items, her body trembling slightly. Her heartbeat was so rapid it threatened to burst out of her chest. "I can do this, I definitely can do this," she kept encouraging herself, but her trembling hands betrayed her deep fear. The terrifying images of those mysterious men kept flashing through her mind, and with each thought, her fear grew.
Old Chen hid behind a pillar, his eyes determined, his finger on the trigger. Beads of sweat covered his forehead, trickling down his cheeks and onto the ground. He thought to himself, "I must protect everyone this time. I can't let another tragedy happen." He thought of the comrades he had lost in the line of duty, and the pain and remorse he felt transformed into endless strength and courage.
The hooded figure crouched in a corner, observing his surroundings calmly. His heartbeat was steady and strong, as if this crisis was merely a minor test. Yet, deep down, a trace of worry lingered in his heart, unsure if he could escape successfully this time.
The mysterious man began to push open the warehouse door. The old wooden door creaked, making a particularly harsh sound in the silence. Lin Yu's heart was in his throat. He gripped the weapon tightly, his finger on the trigger, ready to fire at any time.
The moment the door was pushed open, Lin Yu shouted, "Fight!" His voice was like a thunder, breaking all hesitation and fear.
Everyone opened fire. For a moment, the sound of gunfire, the magical light, and the mysterious man's shouts intertwined. Bullets whizzed out, streaking fire in the air, and the magical light flashed like a meteor, illuminating the dark warehouse.
A mysterious man was shot and fell, his body hitting the ground with a dull thud. But the others quickly hid behind cover and began to fight back. Their weapons spewed flames, and bullets rained down on Lin Yu and the others.
"Everyone, save your ammunition!" Old Chen shouted, his voice resonating loudly amidst the roar of gunfire. He kept his eyes fixed on the mysterious man outside, carefully considering each shot, striving to maximize the effectiveness of each bullet.
Lin Yu took advantage of the chaos and quietly circled around to the mysterious man's side. His steps were light and swift, each one carefully chosen, afraid to make even the slightest sound. His heartbeat quickened, and his breathing became rapid. "I must succeed. I must win this opportunity for everyone," he silently prayed.
Suna continuously cast spells, providing cover for everyone. Her magical light acted like a shield, blocking the mysterious man's attacks. But her magic power was depleting rapidly, and with each spell she cast, her body felt weaker. "Hold on a little longer, hold on a little longer," she gritted her teeth, desperately persevering.
The mysterious man's firepower was intense, and Lin Yu and his men gradually began to feel overwhelmed. Bullets flew past them, sending up clouds of dust and debris. The items in the warehouse were scattered, and wood chips and rocks flew everywhere, nearly hitting them several times.
"This isn't going to work! We have to find a way out!" the hooded figure shouted, a hint of anxiety in his voice. His eyes quickly scanned the surroundings, searching for a possible breakthrough.
Lin Yu gritted his teeth and said, "Wait for my signal, and let's rush out together!" His eyes were firm and resolute, as if he had already made plans for the worst. His body was tense, like a fully drawn bow, ready to explode at any moment.
He seized the opportunity and threw a grenade. The grenade arced through the air and landed precisely in the mysterious group's formation. With a loud bang, flames shot up into the sky and smoke filled the air. The mysterious group's formation was thrown into disarray, and their shouts and screams echoed through the smoke.
"Charge!" Lin Yu shouted. He rushed out first, firing continuously with the weapon in his hand.
Everyone rushed towards the door together, their figures appearing brave and fearless in the smoke and fire. Lin Yu ran and shot at the same time, bullets whizzed past him, but he was not afraid.
Suna followed closely behind, the magic props in her hand continuously releasing light to clear a path for everyone.
Lao Chen stayed behind, continuously firing at the mysterious man behind to ensure everyone's safety.
They ran in the smoke with only one belief in their hearts: escape!
When they rushed out of the warehouse, the sunlight outside hurt their eyes. But they did not stop at all and continued running towards the distance.
The mysterious man's shouts gradually faded away behind them, but they did not dare to let their guard down and kept running until they reached a relatively safe place.
Lin Yu collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. Others also sat down, each face filled with fatigue and relief at having survived the ordeal.
"We...we escaped." Suna's voice was trembling with joy.
Old Chen looked into the distance and said, "But this is not over yet. We must bring the news back as soon as possible."
Lin Yu stood up and said, "That's right, let's go!"
Their figures gradually faded away in the afterglow of the setting sun, leaving behind a silent wilderness...
