Escape from the Temple
Facing this massive shadow, Lin Yu, Suna, and the old man all felt an unprecedented pressure. The shadow seemed like darkness incarnate, emitting a suffocating, terrifying aura. Its massive body almost completely blocked the entire exit, completely blocking their hopes of escape.
Lin Yu stared at the shadow with his eyes. Although his heart was filled with fear, it was more of a sense of determination. He took a deep breath and rushed forward first. He raised the wooden stick high in the air. The stick in his hand seemed to be his last straw. He smashed at the shadow with all his strength, shouting, "Go to hell!"
However, the shadowy figure simply flicked his arm, as if brushing off a tiny fly. Lin Yu felt a surge of force, and his body instantly lost control, being violently sent flying. His body arced through the air before slamming heavily into the wall. With a loud bang, his back collided violently with the wall, sending pain radiating through his body.
"Lin Yu!" Su Na screamed, tears welling up in her eyes. Her voice was filled with fear and worry. Watching Lin Yu being knocked away, her heart felt like it was being gripped tightly by an invisible hand. She wanted to rush over to check on Lin Yu's injuries, but fear made her steps extremely heavy.
The old man gritted his teeth, a glint of determination in his eyes. He took advantage of the shadow's attention being drawn to Lin Yu and quickly stabbed the shadow with his dagger. His movements were swift and decisive, determined to secure a glimmer of hope for everyone. However, his attack seemed to have no effect on the shadow. With a backhand swing, like swatting a fly, the old man was knocked to the ground. His body rolled several times on the ground before finally coming to a difficult stop.
At this moment, Suna's heart was filled with despair and anger. She looked at Lin Yu and the old man lying on the ground, then at the arrogant black shadow, her anger burning to its core. "Why do you do this to us!" She roared, her voice tinged with tears, and rushed towards the black shadow with reckless abandon. Fear was gone from her mind, only resistance to the injustice of fate.
Just as the shadow was about to strike Suna, the strange light suddenly intensified. The once faint glow now shone like the sun, instantly illuminating the entire temple. The light shot straight at the shadow, engulfed by the light, and it howled in agony. The sound was like a demon from the abyss, filled with pain and rage.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Lin Yu struggled to get up. Every movement of his body brought him excruciating pain, but he endured it. "Suna, come back soon!" he shouted, his voice hoarse from the pain.
Lin Yu struggled to move towards Suna, each step feeling like he was walking on the edge of a knife. He finally grabbed Suna's hand and pulled her back. "Don't be impulsive, we have to leave quickly!"
The old man also struggled to get up from the ground. His face was covered with dust and blood, but his eyes were still firm. "Hurry up, children!"
They supported each other and ran out of the temple.
Their footsteps echoed in the temple, accompanied by heavy breathing. Lin Yu felt like his lungs were about to explode, and every breath was like swallowing fire. Suna's tears kept flowing, blurring her vision, but she continued to follow Lin Yu and the old man closely.
The shadow behind them roared angrily, as if unwilling to let them escape. But the strange light temporarily stopped its pursuit.
They ran desperately, the road blurring under their feet. The wind outside the temple whistled, making their clothes rustle. Branches and thorns scratched their skin, leaving wounds, but they felt no pain at all.
Only after they were far away from the temple did they stop, breathless. Lin Yu collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. Suna's legs also gave way, and she knelt on the ground, her hands supporting the ground. The old man leaned against a tree, his body shaking.
"We...we escaped?" Suna said in disbelief. Her voice trembled slightly, and her eyes were still filled with fear as she looked back at the gloomy temple.
Lin Yu looked at each other's embarrassed appearance, smiled bitterly and said: "We have escaped for the time being, but Tai Sui's curse has not been lifted yet." His heart was full of worries, and he didn't know what to do next.
The old man gasped, his voice weak but firm: "But at least we are still alive, there is still hope." He raised his head, looked at the bright moon in the sky, and prayed silently in his heart.
Just then, they noticed that the moon in the sky had become exceptionally bright, its clear light casting a shadow over the earth, as if casting a silver veil over the world. The full moon night had arrived, but their fate remained uncertain...
