The Relics of the Witch Clan
As they emerged from the cave, sunlight bathed their weary faces, yet their eyes remained filled with determination. Following the clues in the ancient text, they continued their quest for the mysterious woman. The path beneath them was rugged and uneven, flanked by tall, dense trees, their branches intertwined to form a canopy of green.
They passed through the dense jungle, the fallen leaves crunching beneath their feet, as if the forest were whispering ancient secrets. Lin Yu walked at the front of the group, a wooden stick in hand, occasionally pushing aside the thorns ahead. His eyes scanned the surroundings warily, his heart filled with anticipation and fear of the unknown.
"I don't know how long it will take to find that mysterious woman after all this journey." Suna said panting, her face covered with sweat and dust, and her hair was messy.
"Don't lose heart, as long as we follow the clues, we will definitely find her." Lin Yu comforted, although he himself was not completely sure.
They climbed over the towering mountains, which were steep and difficult, forcing them to use both hands and feet. Every step was arduous, and the slightest mistake could lead to a fall into the valley. The director kept reminding everyone to be careful, his voice echoing through the valley.
Finally, they arrived at an ancient ruin hidden deep in the mountains. The entrance was covered by giant vines, as thick as pythons, intertwined and forming a natural barrier. A mysterious mist hung around, emitting a faint, eerie aura that sent shivers down one's spine.
"Could this be the former habitat of the Wu Clan?" Lin Yu muttered to himself as he looked at the scene before him. His voice was filled with wonder and confusion. Everything before him seemed to come from another world.
The director carefully surveyed his surroundings, his gaze sharp as an eagle, taking in every detail. "Be careful, this place could be fraught with unknown dangers." His voice was low and serious, as if warning everyone of the impending challenge.
They entered the ruins cautiously, taking every step with extreme caution, fearing they might trigger some unknown mechanism. Though dilapidated, the buildings within still evoked a hint of their former glory. Ancient stone pillars towered into the sky, engraved with mysterious runes. These runes shimmered faintly, as if telling stories of the past. The walls were covered in vibrant murals, depicting the history and magic of the witch clan. Each piece was so vivid that it transported one to a distant era.
Suna looked at the murals curiously. The exquisite paintings made her want to touch them. "Don't move!" the old man shouted, his voice filled with tension and fear.
At this moment, a strange sound suddenly rang out from the ruins. It was like the whispers of countless souls, or a curse from ancient times. The sound echoed in the empty ruins, making people shudder.
"Oh no, some kind of mechanism may have been triggered." The director's face changed, and his eyes were full of vigilance.
Before he finished speaking, the ground began to shake violently, and a group of ghostly shadows emerged from all directions. They were elusive, seemingly without substance, with only pairs of glowing red eyes standing out in the darkness.
"What is this?" Lin Yu clenched the weapon in his hand, his heartbeat accelerated rapidly, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
The shadows quickly pounced on them, bringing with them a gust of cold wind. Everyone rushed to engage them, and for a moment, the flashes of swords and the light of magic intertwined. Lin Yu swung the wooden stick in his hand and hit the shadow with force, but the stick went straight through the shadow's body, causing no damage.
"This isn't working!" Lin Yu exclaimed.
The director quickly cast a spell, and the light hit the shadow. The shadow screamed and retreated temporarily. "Use magic to attack them!" Lin Yu shouted.
The old man muttered something, and the staff in his hand emitted a powerful light. Wherever the light reached, the shadows dissipated. Suna also summoned up the courage to cast the spells she had learned. Although her spells were not yet proficient, she managed to buy some time for everyone.
During the fierce battle, Lin Yu discovered that these shadows did not seem to be afraid of physical attacks. Only spells could cause damage to them. "Concentrate and attack with spells!" He shouted while continuously releasing spells.
The shadows grew in number, seemingly endless. Everyone's physical strength and magic power were gradually depleted, but they still gritted their teeth and persisted in fighting.
The director's magic glow grew weaker and weaker, his face pale, and beads of sweat rolled down his forehead. "Everyone hold on!" he shouted, but a hint of fatigue already revealed itself in his voice.
Lin Yu's arm was scratched by the shadow, and blood was flowing, but he ignored the pain and continued to fight. "I won't let you succeed!" He roared, with a determined light in his eyes.
After a hard fight, they finally drove back the shadows. They collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath.
"We can't stay here for long. Let's quickly look for clues about the mysterious woman." The director said as he struggled to stand up, enduring the pain in his body.
They continued to explore the ruins, each room filled with mystery and danger. Finally, in a secret room, they discovered a stone tablet engraved with the witch tribe's totem. The totem on the stone tablet emitted a mysterious light, which fascinated them.
"This may be the key to finding her." Lin Yu said, his eyes fixed on the stone slab, trying to decipher useful information from it.
Just as they were about to study the stone tablet further, a woman's laughter emanated from the depths of the ruins. The laughter was clear and cold, as if it came from the depths of hell.
"It's her!" Lin Yu said, and everyone's hearts were filled with tension and anticipation again.
