Chapter 207: Deep into the Tiger's Den

Into the Tiger's Den

On a pitch-black night, a darkness as thick as ink enveloped the earth. Led by their director, the members of Bureau 749 cautiously made their way toward the mysterious ancient castle. Starless stars twinkled in the night sky, only a hazy moon, as if veiled by a thin veil, barely shedding its faint, cold light. This thin moonlight offered no comfort, but instead made the path ahead seem even more eerie and terrifying, as if lurking countless unknown dangers.

Lin Yu walked at the front of the team, tightly gripping the weapon he'd carried for years. The blade gleamed with a faint, cold light. His heartbeat was remarkably clear in the deathly silence, each beat a response to the fear of the unknown. "Everyone, be careful. We don't know what awaits us ahead," he said in a low voice. Although he tried to remain calm, a hint of trembling could still be heard. His eyes scanned the surroundings warily. It felt as if countless pairs of eyes were watching them from the darkness.

Suna followed closely behind, clutching the prepared spell tools tightly in her hands. Her palms were so sweaty that they were almost greasy. "This place feels so eerie. I'm a little scared." Her voice trembled, as if squeezed through her teeth. Horrifying scenes kept appearing in her mind, and with every step she took, she felt as if invisible hands were tugging at the corners of her clothes.

The director glanced back at the group, his eyes firm and calm, trying to inspire a sense of courage and confidence. "Don't be afraid. Together, we will accomplish this mission." His voice was steady and powerful, like a beacon of light in the darkness. However, his heart was not without turmoil. After all, this mission was fraught with uncertainty and danger, but as a leader, he had to remain strong.

When they finally reached the castle, the massive gate was tightly shut, like an impassable barrier. Made of heavy black wood and studded with rusty nails, it exuded a rotten, as if it had been sealed for a thousand years. The director motioned for Lin Yu and the old man to come forward and inspect it.

Lin Yu approached the city gate cautiously, taking every step with extreme caution, as if he were treading a deep abyss. He gently pressed his ear against the door, trying to listen for any movement within. However, he could hear nothing except the pounding of his own heartbeat. Just then, the seemingly heavy gate suddenly swung open silently, as if being pushed by an invisible hand. A piercing cold wind blew in from within, carrying with it a stale, sickening smell that made him shudder.

Inside the gate lay a spacious courtyard, its walls towering into the sky, completely isolating them from the outside world. The ground was paved with bluestone slabs, the cracks between the slabs overgrown with moss and weeds. Silence reigned, only the sound of their cautious footsteps echoing through the empty courtyard, each a challenge to the unknown. Suddenly, without warning, green flames ignited from the surrounding walls. The flames danced eerily and eerily, illuminating the entire courtyard like a ghostly den.

"This is a trap!" shouted the mysterious woman, her voice full of tension and vigilance.

Before he finished speaking, a group of dark shadows surged out from all directions like a tide, instantly shattering the silence. The shadows were blurry, their faces unclear, but they exuded an evil aura.

Without hesitation, Lin Yu and the director quickly engaged the shadowy figure, engaging in a fierce battle. Lin Yu swung his weapon, the blade slicing arcs through the green flames, each strike accompanied by the sound of breaking wind. "Come on! You evil creatures!" he roared, his fear replaced by the passion of battle.

The director cast a powerful spell, and light shot out from his hands, hitting the shadows with a dull sound. "Everyone hold on!" he shouted, his voice echoing in the courtyard.

Suna, in the rear, nervously cast spells, providing them with support. Her hands danced, muttering to herself. Rays of light flew from her hands, landing on Lin Yu and the director, strengthening them and increasing their defenses. "I won't let you fall!" she vowed silently.

The old man stood aside, calmly observing the situation, searching for the enemy's weaknesses. His eyes were as sharp as a hawk's, not missing a single detail.

Not to be outdone, the mysterious woman unleashed the unique magic of the witch clan. Mysterious runes emerged from her hands, transforming into a powerful force that shot towards the shadows. Her eyes were filled with anger and determination. "I'll show you the power of the witch clan!" she shouted.

However, the shadows seemed to continue coming. No matter how many they eliminated, more would always appear. They gradually felt powerless, and their physical strength and magic power were rapidly depleted.

"This is not a solution. We must find a way out!" the director shouted, a hint of anxiety in his voice.

Just as they were struggling to hold on, Lin Yu accidentally discovered a secret door in the corner of the courtyard during the battle. The door was hidden in the shadows, looming.

"Everyone follow me!" Lin Yu shouted loudly. While struggling to fight off the dark shadows around him, he moved towards the secret door.

Hearing his cry, everyone rushed towards the secret door. Surrounded by shadows, they rushed left and right, their wounds increasing, but they did not retreat at all.

Suna accidentally fell while running and was about to be caught up by the shadow. "Suna!" Lin Yu shouted, turned around and rushed back, pulled her up, and continued to rush forward.

Finally, under siege from the shadows, they struggled to enter the secret door. The door slowly closed behind them, temporarily blocking the shadows outside. But they knew the danger was far from over...
