Chapter 208 The Secret of the Castle

The Secret of the Castle

After entering the secret door, they discovered a narrow, dark passageway. A pungent odor filled the passage—a mixture of rot, dampness, and age, like the lingering aroma of decay. The walls were covered in wet moss, which shimmered eerily in the dim light, moving slightly as if alive.

"This place doesn't feel right," Suna whispered, her voice filled with unease. Her voice echoed in the narrow passage, a trembling cadence. Her heartbeat raced, each beat a warning bell ringing in her ears. She followed closely behind the others, her hands unconsciously clutching the corners of her clothes, her eyes constantly scanning the surroundings, as if every corner in the darkness might hide unknown danger.

"Proceed cautiously and observe your surroundings," the director warned. His voice was steady and forceful, trying to give everyone a sense of security. But his heart was also restless, beads of sweat oozing from his forehead. He knew that in this unknown environment, any negligence could lead to fatal consequences.

They moved slowly along the passage, the ground beneath their feet slippery, due to the long-term dampness causing the stone slabs to be covered with slippery moss. Every step required extreme caution; a single careless move could lead to a fall. Lin Yu walked ahead, the weapon in his hand flickering faintly in the darkness, as if it were their only hope in this darkness.

Suddenly, a deep roar erupted from the front, a sound that seemed to come from the depths of hell, filled with endless rage and fury. The entire passageway trembled slightly, and dust and debris fell from overhead.

"What's that sound?" Lin Yu clenched his weapon, sweat breaking out on his forehead. His voice was hoarse with nervousness, his eyes fixed on the darkness ahead, his body involuntarily adopting a defensive posture. His heartbeat instantly accelerated, as if it was about to burst out of his chest.

The mysterious woman said solemnly, "I'm afraid it's the castle's guardian beast." Her voice was filled with a hint of fear and awe; she knew only too well how powerful and dangerous such a guardian beast could be. A flicker of hesitation flashed across her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by determination. "Everyone, be careful," she whispered.

As soon as he finished speaking, a gigantic monster burst out from the darkness. Its massive size almost filled the entire passage, its body as majestic as a mountain. Its eyes flashed a red light, a glow that burned like a flame in the darkness, sending chills down one's spine. From its mouth erupted a scorching breath that seemed to reduce everything to ash.

"Everyone, disperse!" the director shouted. His voice was decisive and resolute, demonstrating the decisiveness of a leader in this critical moment.

The crowd quickly dispersed, engaging in a desperate struggle with the monster. The director unleashed a powerful spell, illuminating the dark passage. The spell's light, like streaks of lightning, instantly illuminated the monster's ferocious features. But the monster seemed to be somewhat resistant to these spells; it trembled slightly before continuing its charge toward the director.

Lin Yu took advantage of the moment the monster was distracted by the director, circled behind it, and launched an attack. He leaped high, stabbing the monster's back with his weapon. However, the monster reacted extremely quickly, swung its tail violently, and with a powerful force, swept Lin Yu to the ground. Lin Yu fell heavily to the ground, uttering a muffled groan.

"Lin Yu!" Suna hurried over to help Lin Yu up, her eyes filled with concern and worry. At the same time, she threw out several magic props, which bloomed brilliantly in the air, trying to interfere with the monster.

The mysterious woman muttered something, forming hand seals with her hands as she unleashed an ancient forbidden technique from the witch tribe. A mysterious light emanated from her body, and the power of the forbidden technique slowed the monster's movements. A pained expression crossed her face, clearly showing that this forbidden technique was taking a heavy toll on her.

The old man took the opportunity to observe the monster's weaknesses. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, not missing a single detail. "Attack its belly!" the old man shouted, his voice trembling with excitement.

Hearing the old man's warning, everyone focused their attacks on the monster's abdomen. Various spells and weapons rained down upon the monster's belly, causing it to roar in agony. It twisted its body frantically, attempting to resist, but under the combined force of the attack, it finally collapsed to the ground.

The moment the monster fell to the ground, it turned into a cloud of black smoke and disappeared.

"Finally solved." Lin Yu said with a heavy breath. His clothes were tattered and his body was covered with wounds, but his eyes revealed a trace of triumph.

"Don't let your guard down. There's no telling how many dangers there are in this castle," the director said. His voice remained serious and alert, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any further dangers.

They continued walking until they finally arrived at a spacious room. The room was filled with all sorts of strange instruments and bottles. The instruments flickered with eerie lights and emitted a low hum. The bottles and jars contained liquids of various colors, some bubbling and others emitting a pungent odor. The walls were covered in mysterious symbols, which shimmered faintly, as if telling ancient secrets.

"What is this place?" Suna asked curiously. There was a hint of doubt and fear in her voice. She approached the instruments cautiously, wanting to see what was going on.

At this moment, the lights in the room suddenly came on, and the strong light made everyone's eyes unable to adapt for a moment. A huge screen appeared in front of them, and the image of a mysterious person appeared on the screen.

"Welcome to the core of the castle. Your fate is sealed." The mysterious man's voice echoed in the room. The voice was mechanically indifferent and ruthless, as if it came from another world.

A deep sense of uneasiness and fear suddenly surged in everyone's hearts...
