Chapter 211: The Terror of the Unknown Castle

Fear of the Unknown Castle

Everyone stopped, staring nervously ahead. A massive figure gradually emerged from the dense fog. Like a demon from a nightmare, it stood more than two men tall, its massive form looming in the thick mist. Its outline was indistinct, yet it exuded a chilling aura.

"What...what is this?" Su Na's voice was trembling almost out of tune, her eyes wide open, filled with extreme fear. Her body involuntarily shrank back, her hands tightly grasping Lin Yu's arm, her nails almost digging into his flesh.

Lin Yu swallowed, trying to calm himself. He gripped his weapon tightly, the sword flickering faintly in his trembling hands. "Whatever it is, prepare to fight!" he shouted, trying to cheer himself and his companions up, but a hint of nervousness and fear still lingered in his voice. His heartbeat accelerated rapidly, as if it was about to burst out of his chest. "I must protect everyone," he vowed silently in his heart.

The director narrowed his eyes, trying to get a clearer view of the monster. His gaze was filled with vigilance and determination. Though he felt a surge of anxiety within, as the leader of the group, he couldn't afford to flinch. As the monster drew closer, they finally saw a terrifying creature covered in sharp barbs. Its skin was a strange dark green, as if soaked in venom. Its face was twisted beyond recognition, its eyes gleaming blood-red, and its mouth exuded a pungent, nauseating breath.

The monster let out a deep roar, a sound that seemed to come from the depths of hell, shaking the passageway slightly. The sound waves echoed in the narrow space, striking everyone's eardrums and causing an unbearable sting. It opened its bloody mouth, revealing sharp fangs, and between its teeth were remnants of flesh and blood of unknown origin.

The old man cried out, "This might be the castle's guardian monster! Everyone be careful!" His voice shrill with fear, his forehead covered in cold sweat. He knew full well how powerful and dangerous this monster was, but there was no turning back.

The director launched the attack first, clasping his hands together and muttering something. A blinding beam of magical light shot from his hands, streaking through the dark passage like a bolt of lightning, heading straight for the monster. But the creature dodged the director's attack with ghostly agility. The beam struck the wall, sending up a shower of sparks and shattered stone.

Lin Yu seized the opportunity and rushed forward, his eyes filled with courage and determination. "Go to hell!" he roared, swinging his sword at the monster's legs. The blade arced through the air, accompanied by a sharp sound of wind. The monster reacted extremely quickly, kicking Lin Yu away. Lin Yu's body, like a kite with a broken string, slammed heavily against the wall with a dull thud.

"Lin Yu!" Su Na was extremely anxious, her voice filled with concern and despair. She wanted to rush over to check on Lin Yu's injuries, but she didn't dare to leave the protection of the crowd.

At that moment, the monster lunged at Suna. Its speed was so great that it whipped up a gust of wind, sending Suna's hair flying everywhere. The director and the old man quickly cast spells, attempting to stop the monster. The director's hands glowed again, forming a barrier that blocked Suna's path. The old man swung his staff, chanting an ancient incantation. Runes flew from the tip of the staff, shooting towards the monster.

At this critical moment, a mysterious woman suddenly appeared. Her figure, like a ghost, instantly appeared before everyone. She waved her hands, muttering something, unleashing a powerful witch spell. A dazzling beam of light shot out from her hand, striking the monster accurately. The monster roared in agony, its voice filled with rage and pain. Its body was enveloped by the light, temporarily halting its attack.

"Follow me, there's a way out this way!" the mysterious woman shouted. Her voice was urgent and firm, leaving no room for hesitation.

Without a second thought, everyone followed the mysterious woman deeper into the passage. Their footsteps echoed through the passage, along with the sounds of heavy breathing and heartbeats. Behind them, the monster's roar continued, as if it would catch up at any moment.

They ran furiously, the ground slippery beneath their feet. From time to time, some people fell, but they quickly got up and continued running. The passage was filled with thick fog, making it impossible to see the road ahead. They could only blindly follow the mysterious woman.

Finally, they came to a fork in the road. Two passages stretched out in different directions, dark and deep, filled with unknown fear.

"Which way?" Lin Yu asked, his voice panting and his face covered with sweat and dust.

The mysterious woman pondered for a moment, a flicker of hesitation in her eyes, but she quickly made a decision. "This way," she said firmly, pointing to the passage on the left.

As soon as they entered the passage, they heard a loud roar from the right, as if something was collapsing. The entire passage was shaking, and rocks kept falling from overhead.

"That was a close call!" Suna said, breathing heavily. Her face was pale and her eyes were full of relief at surviving the disaster.

However, their future is still full of unknowns and dangers. The passage seems to have no end, and no one knows what terrible things are hidden in the darkness. But they have no choice but to keep moving forward, hoping to find a way out and escape from this world.
