Chapter 214: Guardian of the Castle

Guardian of the Castle

Everyone looked at the collapsed stone chamber, their hearts heavy. The stone chamber that once shone with a mysterious light was now just a pile of rubble and billowing smoke and dust, as if mocking their powerlessness and despair. Suna's eyes were red, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked at the injured Lin Yu with worry. Her hands trembled unconsciously, as if the trembling could convey her inner fear and anxiety.

"Lin Yu, your leg..." Su Na's voice was tearful, her voice as if torn apart, filled with pain and helplessness. She squatted down and gently stroked Lin Yu's injured leg, her eyes filled with heartache and self-blame. "It's all because of me. If you hadn't saved me, you wouldn't have been injured." She couldn't hold back her tears, and they dripped onto Lin Yu's bloodstained trouser leg.

Lin Yu forced a smile, swallowing the pain, and tried to comfort Suna. "I'm fine, don't worry. This injury is nothing. We'll get through this." His voice, though weak, was filled with determination. However, only he knew the pain in his heart. Every slight movement brought piercing pain, and he didn't know how much longer he could hold on.

The director stood up, his figure standing tall amid the ruins. He fixed his gaze on everyone, revealing an unyielding resolve. "We can't give up like this. We must find a way to regain our leads." His voice was deep and powerful, like a wake-up call amidst the chaos. He was torn between conflict and struggle. He knew going back meant enormous risk, but if he didn't, all their previous efforts would be in vain, and the world could be plunged into even greater crisis.

The old man pondered for a moment, then slowly said, "But the stone chamber has collapsed. It's too dangerous to go back now. There may be unknown mechanisms and traps inside. We can't act rashly." His voice was filled with worry, and the wrinkles left by time on his face were now even more profound. He had experienced many ups and downs and knew that every adventure could be a life-or-death decision.

The mysterious woman bit her lip, a flicker of determination in her eyes. "But that might be our only hope. If we don't try, the Wu Clan will truly be beyond salvation." Her voice was filled with a hint of urgency and helplessness. She bore the fate of the Wu Clan on her shoulders and couldn't give up so easily. Her heart cried out in agony, willing to sacrifice everything, even her own life, to save the Wu Clan.

The director frowned, his mind locked in a struggle. On the one hand, he couldn't risk everyone's safety for an uncertain clue. On the other, he had a crucial clue that could potentially save the world; if he missed it, the consequences would be disastrous. His mind raced through various possible outcomes, each weighing heavily on him.

"How about we split into two groups? One group stays to take care of Lin Yu, while the other tries to find a way into the stone chamber," Suna suggested. Her eyes were filled with anticipation, hoping that this proposal would be accepted by everyone. She knew that this approach had its risks, but it seemed to be the only viable solution at the moment.

Lin Yu immediately objected. "No, that's too risky. We need to stay together." His voice was firm and decisive. He didn't want to see them separated and exposed to further danger because of him. "We've been through so much together. We can't be separated at this moment." His eyes were filled with concern and worry for everyone.

Just as everyone was arguing, a sinister laugh suddenly rang out from all around. The laugh seemed to come from the depths of hell, cold and sharp, penetrating everyone's bones.

"Hahahaha, do you still think you have a choice?" A dark figure slowly emerged from the darkness. Like a ghost, its form shifted and shifted, making it impossible to discern its true form. Its appearance instantly froze the surrounding air, and a chilling chill washed over me.

Everyone looked at the black shadow vigilantly, and the director asked sternly, "Who are you?" His voice was full of majesty and anger, and his hand unconsciously tightened its weapon.

The shadow sneered, "I am the guardian of this castle. If you break in here, you will never leave alive." Its voice was like a curse, a chilling curse. As it finished speaking, its figure gradually became clearer. It was dressed in a black robe, its face obscured by shadows, revealing only a pair of eyes that shone red like burning flames.

With that, the shadowy figure flashed, lunging at the crowd like a ghost. The director bore the brunt of the attack, unleashing a powerful spell. Light shot from his hands, illuminating the dark corners. The shadowy figure dodged sideways, then swung back with a powerful force, striking the director. The director took a few steps back, a trace of blood oozing from the corner of his mouth.

Seeing this, Lin Yu stood up despite the pain and swung the weapon in his hand to chop at the shadow. The shadow easily grabbed his weapon and swung it hard, and Lin Yu fell to the ground again.

Suna and the mysterious woman also cast spells, and the lights intertwined, launching a fierce confrontation with the shadow. However, the shadow's power was extremely strong, and every attack made it difficult for everyone to resist.

The old man observed the shadow's movements, trying to find its weakness. "Attack its left side!" he shouted.

Hearing the old man's advice, everyone concentrated their efforts and attacked the shadow's left side. The shadow was a little flustered for a moment, but soon regained his composure.

The battle reached a stalemate, everyone's physical strength and magic power were rapidly depleted, but the black shadow was still as powerful as before.

"This is not a solution. We must find its weakness!" the director shouted.

At this moment, the black shadow suddenly released a powerful energy wave, repelling everyone.

"Today is your doomsday!" The shadow's voice echoed in the darkness, making people feel despair.

Everyone fell to the ground, gasping for breath. Their eyes were filled with exhaustion and despair, but a glimmer of hope still burned in their hearts. They would not give up easily...
