Crisis strikes again
After a brief respite, everyone slowly rose from the ground. Their relief at having survived the ordeal hadn't completely dissipated, but it was replaced by a deep sense of worry. A tense and oppressive atmosphere permeated the stone chamber, like the calm before a storm. Every breath of air seemed frozen, making it hard to breathe.
The director looked at everyone who was exhausted but trying to hold on, and his heart was filled with heartache and worry. He swept his eyes over his companions one by one. The wound on Lin Yu's arm was still bleeding, Suna's face was as pale as white paper, and the mysterious woman and the old man could not hide their fatigue. But he knew that there was no room for slacking at this moment, as they shouldered the responsibility of saving the world. "Is everyone okay? Although we have temporarily repelled the black shadow, the danger of this castle is far more than that. We must find a way to the deep underground as soon as possible, complete the ritual, and seal the evil power." The director's voice was low and firm, trying to instill confidence in everyone.
Lin Yu rubbed his aching arm. The stinging pain from the wound was like a needle, piercing his nerves and causing him to wince. But he gritted his teeth and said firmly, "I'm fine. Let's continue. Time is running out. We can't delay any longer." He knew that every second of delay increased the possibility of the evil force's resurgence and the world became more dangerous. "We've come this far. We must not retreat at this critical moment." He secretly encouraged himself.
Although Suna's face remained pale, her body trembling slightly with fear and exhaustion, her eyes held a resolute look. "Yeah, I can do this," she mentally encouraged herself. Despite her inner fear and the weight of her legs, she didn't want to be a burden to the others. "Everyone's persevering, so I can do this too." She clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.
The mysterious woman and the old man nodded, indicating they could still persevere. A hint of worry crossed the woman's eyes, knowing full well that the road ahead would be filled with difficulties and dangers, and that they still knew very little about the castle's secrets. The old man sighed softly. His health was no longer as good as it once was, but he knew he had the mission of the witch clan on his shoulders and could not give up halfway.
The group began searching the stone chamber for clues leading deep underground. They carefully searched every corner, not missing a single clue. The chamber was so quiet that only their gentle breathing and the occasional rustling of stones could be heard. It seemed as if the entire world was left with only them and this mysterious castle.
Suddenly, Suna spotted a strange pattern beneath a stone slab. It resembled some ancient rune, twisted and mysterious, emitting a faint glow. The light flickered in the dim stone chamber, as if it would go out at any moment. "Everyone, come and see! What is this?" Suna shouted, her voice tinged with surprise and nervousness.
Everyone gathered around, their eyes fixed on the pattern. A flicker of surprise flashed in the old man's eyes. He leaned in for a closer look, his facial wrinkles deepening with concentration. "This might be the clue to the underground! I've seen similar runes in ancient texts. It might be related to the mechanism that opens the passage." The old man's voice trembled slightly, tinged with excitement and anticipation.
The director frowned slightly, thought for a moment and said, "Then let's look around to see if there's any place nearby that can trigger the mechanism." His eyes quickly scanned the surroundings, trying to find some unusual places.
So, everyone began searching for a mechanism around the pattern. Lin Yu discovered a depression on one side of the wall, similar in shape to a portion of the pattern. "There seems to be a place here that matches," he said, a glimmer of hope welling up in his heart.
Just as Lin Yu was about to put his hand into the depression, the mysterious woman suddenly shouted, "Be careful, there may be a trap!" Her voice was sharp and rapid, like an alarm.
Lin Yu's hand stopped in mid-air, a wave of fear in his heart. He turned to look at the mysterious woman, "Are you sure?" His heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and the hope that had just ignited was instantly replaced by fear.
The mysterious woman stepped forward, carefully examining the marks surrounding the depression. She crouched down and gently touched the wall with her fingers, feeling the grain of the stone. "There's something strange about the stone around here. Triggering a trap could be dangerous." The mysterious woman's eyes were filled with caution, knowing full well that the castle's traps were often deadly.
The old man nodded in agreement and said, "It's better to be cautious. Let's see if there are any other clues." The old man's heart was also filled with worry. They couldn't fall into despair because of a momentary negligence.
At that moment, flickering lights suddenly appeared on the walls of the stone chamber, forming a series of images. These images depicted the castle's history and a tragic battle that had once taken place. To seal the evil forces, the ancestors of the witch clan fought a desperate battle with the demons. Countless people fell, and their blood dyed the ground red.
As the crowd watched these scenes in silence, they gained a deeper understanding of the dangers they were about to face. They seemed to feel the unwavering faith and fearless courage of their ancestors, while also realizing that they bore a greater responsibility.
At the end of the picture, a vague figure appeared and pointed to a corner of the stone chamber.
"Could that be the real location of the mechanism?" Suna guessed, with a hint of confusion and expectation in her eyes.
After thinking for a moment, the director said, "It's possible. Let's go and take a look, but be careful." The director was not completely sure, but this was the only clue at the moment, so they could only take a risk.
Everyone walked towards the corner, each step full of caution. As they approached the corner, a chill came over them, as if an invisible hand was gently caressing their backs, making them shiver.
