Chapter 224: Trial of Gusu

Lin Yu pulled out the sword with all his strength, and the splashing black blood fell to the ground, making a "sizzling" sound, as if corroding the earth. He ignored all this and rushed towards another big snake again. At this time, Suna used all her strength to cast the sonic spell. Beads of sweat rolled down her forehead, soaking her clothes. Her face became paler and paler, and the consumption of her magic power made her feel weak, but she gritted her teeth and persisted, because she knew that once she stopped the spell, the big snakes would attack frantically again, and they would be in an even more dangerous situation. "Lin Yu, I can't hold on any longer!" Suna shouted, with a hint of fatigue and anxiety in her voice.

Lin Yu was terrified. He knew Suna's condition was critical; he had to eliminate the snakes quickly, or both would be doomed. He gritted his teeth, his eyes a look of determination, and he intensified his attacks. Each strike was laced with desperate resolve, each swing drawing every ounce of his strength. Finally, under his continuous attacks, another snake collapsed to the ground, twitching a few times before losing its ability to move.

The remaining snakes seemed to sense the threat and quickly gathered together, entwining their bodies into a massive snake ball. The scales on the ball's surface were tightly packed, shimmering with an eerie light, as if forming an indestructible layer of armor. Suddenly, countless multicolored rays of light shot out from the ball, like a dense rain of arrows, shooting towards Lin Yu and Suna. These rays carried powerful energy, and wherever they passed, the air sizzled, as if ignited.

Lin Yu quickly pulled Suna away, their figures weaving in and out of the light, a dangerous situation all around. The light brushed past their bodies, striking the surrounding trees, instantly corroding them with large holes. Black smoke rose from the holes, emitting a pungent odor. "This attack is terrifying!" Lin Yu exclaimed, groaning inwardly. He had never witnessed such a powerful and strange attack before, and for the first time, a sense of despair welled up in his heart.

Just as they were feeling hopeless, the witch's hoarse voice suddenly called out, "Stop!" The sound, like an invisible magic, echoed through the valley. As if hearing a supreme command, the snakes instantly ceased their attacks, their frantic movements coming to an abrupt halt. They slowly untangled themselves and retreated into the bushes, as if everything had just been a nightmare.

The witch looked at the two of them, with a barely perceptible approval in her eyes: "Your courage and wisdom are quite good. If you want to know the secret of witchcraft, you need to pass more tests." Her voice was still mysterious, as if she was telling a mystery that could never be solved.

Lin Yu and Suna exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with determination. Though exhausted, their clothes drenched in sweat and covered in bruises, they said without hesitation, "We are willing to accept the test!" Their voices were slightly hoarse from exhaustion, but the resolve within them was as unshakable as steel.

The witch nodded slightly, and with another wave of her withered hand, the door of the wooden house slowly opened. "Go in, the test inside has just begun..." The witch's voice was mysterious, as if revealing an unknown and terrifying world to them.

Lin Yu and Suna took a deep breath and walked into the cabin with a determined stride. The cabin was dimly lit and filled with a pungent herbal odor, a stench like a mixture of various herbs and the stench of decay, making one nauseous. Various bottles and jars were placed around. Some contained poisonous insects of various shapes, wriggling and struggling within, emitting a faint glow. Other jars emitted strange fumes, as if hiding endless secrets.

Suddenly, a disembodied, eerie voice echoed in their ears: "Here, you will face your inner fears. Only if you can overcome them can you continue on your journey." The voice seemed to come from all directions, yet it whispered directly into their ears, making it difficult to distinguish between reality and illusion. Like the whisper of a ghost, the voice penetrated their ears, seeped into their souls, and sent an inexplicable chill through their hearts.

Lin Yu's heart trembled. He knew that the next test would be even more difficult, and they had to go all out...

A flash of fear flashed across Suna's eyes, but she quickly calmed down. She held Lin Yu's hand tightly, as if this would give her strength. "No matter what, we'll face this together." Her voice was soft, but full of strength.

Lin Yu shook Suna's hand back and gave her an encouraging look. "Well, we can do it." Their figures seemed a little small in the dim wooden house, but their determination was as strong as
