Chapter 232: The Thickening Fog

"This rune seems to be preventing outsiders from entering. We must be extra careful to decipher it." Lin Yu narrowed his eyes and carefully observed the rune, trying to find clues to decipher it from the complex lines. His eyes were full of concentration, as if he wanted to engrave every detail of the rune in his mind.

Suna quickly cast a spell, muttering something to herself, and summoned a Gu insect with keen perception. The insect shimmered with a faint blue light, dancing around the runes like a shooting star in the night sky. Its faint glow, illuminated by the runes, seemed particularly mysterious. Suddenly, as if drawn by some mysterious force, the insect landed in front of a rune, its light becoming incredibly intense, like a ignited flame.

"Lin Yu, this rune might be the key." Suna pointed at it, her tone tinged with excitement and nervousness. Her heartbeat quickened involuntarily, as if she sensed they were about to find a way into the forbidden area.

Lin Yu hurried forward, bent down, and carefully examined the runes. He found that the lines of the runes were somewhat similar to those they had seen on the mysterious man's magic circle, but also subtly different. These subtle differences were like a key hidden in the mist, waiting for him to unlock it. After racking his brains, he tried to touch the runes in a certain order. His fingers gently touched the runes, and with each touch, he seemed to feel a subtle vibration from the runes, as if he was conversing with an ancient power.

As he touched the last rune, the light at the entrance gradually dimmed, as if quietly retreating after completing its mission. Then, a heavy stone door slowly opened with a creaking sound that echoed in the silent air like the whisper of a demon. Behind the door lay a dark passage, filled with a pungent odor, a mixture of decay and herbs, as if it lurked endless danger, making one want to vomit.

Lin Yu and Suna exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with determination and resolve. They took a deep breath and slowly entered the passage. Inside, the walls were inlaid with glowing stones, but the light was faint, as if it could go out at any moment, barely illuminating the path a few steps ahead. The faint light flickered in the darkness, elongating their figures and casting a particularly eerie shadow against the wall.

They advanced cautiously, each step carefully chosen, as if a deadly trap might be triggered at any moment. Suddenly, a deep roar erupted from the depths of the passage. It was like a roar from the depths of hell, carrying a chilling power. The sound echoed through the passage, shaking the stone walls slightly. It was like some giant beast awakened from its slumber, unleashing an enraged roar that made their hearts race, threatening to burst out of their throats.

"It seems the guardian Gu beast has sensed our arrival," Lin Yu whispered, his voice so low that only the two of them could hear. He gripped his weapon tightly, his palms brimming with sweat, but his eyes were determined, ready to fight at any moment.

Suna quickly focused her mind, casting her Gu magic and summoning several combat Gu insects. They shimmered with multicolored light, dancing around her like nimble elves. "No matter what it is, we must face it bravely." Her eyes were filled with a determination as unshakable as steel. She stood shoulder to shoulder with Lin Yu, walking deeper into the passage together, resolutely facing the unknown challenges that lay ahead...
