Chapter 245: Rune Beast Crisis Turns Around

Rune trapped beast, crisis turning point

The power of the magic circle and the monster clashed fiercely, and the light and black mist intertwined, illuminating the entire stone chamber with flickering light and darkness, as if entering a fantastical dream of light and darkness, yet fraught with deadly danger. The light was like a sharp sword, trying to pierce the shroud of the black fog; while the black fog, like a surging tide, attacked the light wave after wave, trying to devour it completely. Lin Yu and Suna clung to each other, nervously watching the thrilling battle, afraid to breathe, as if the slightest mistake would upset this delicate balance and bring about catastrophic disaster.

Lin Yu's heartbeat was like a drum, a frantic rabbit throbbing in his chest. He knew full well that this battle depended on a single blow, that every second depended on their survival. Seeing that the magic circle could barely hold up against the monster's frenzied attacks, a faint glimmer of hope ignited within him, but this hope, like a candle in the wind, could be snuffed out at any moment. Worry surged through him like a tide, and he couldn't help but ask Suna, "Suna, can this magic circle hold?" His voice trembled slightly with nervousness, a hint of anxiety barely concealed.

Suna stared at the magic circle, her eyes filled with concentration and determination. Her lips pursed slightly as she replied, "I don't know, but we have no other options. We can only trust in the power of the runes." Her tone was firm, but her slightly trembling hands betrayed her inner unease. At this moment, she, like Lin Yu, was gambling: betting that the power of the runes could defeat the terrifying monster before them.

The monster seemed completely enraged by the magic circle's resistance. Like a frenzied ancient beast, it roared furiously. Its roar shook the walls of the stone chamber, as if the entire world trembled at its furious roar. The black mist surrounding it grew thicker, like a swirling wave of ink, constantly impacting the magic circle. The magic circle's light flickered under the frenzied onslaught of the black mist, like a lone lamp in a storm, ready to be swallowed by darkness at any moment.

"Oh no! The formation is about to collapse!" Lin Yu cried anxiously, his voice echoing through the stone chamber with a hint of despair. His mind raced in this critical moment, trying to find a glimmer of hope in this desperate situation. Suddenly, an idea struck him, and he remembered a mural he had seen earlier in the ruins passage. The mural seemed to depict a solemn and mysterious sacrifice, and the scene bore a subtle resemblance to the formation before him. Perhaps, by imitating the ritual movements, he could resonate with the formation, thereby enhancing its power.

"Suna, I have an idea. Do you remember the sacrificial mural in the passage? Let's try following the instructions above. Maybe we can strengthen the magic circle." Lin Yu said eagerly, with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

Suna was taken aback for a moment, then she understood, and hope lit up her eyes. "Okay, let's try!" she replied without hesitation.

The two quickly recalled the movements on the mural and began to imitate them. Their hands danced in the air, their postures strange yet solemn, and they muttered something, as if they were conversing with an ancient power. As they moved, the light of the magic circle gradually stabilized and grew stronger. Like a rising sun, it broke through the obstruction of the black fog and illuminated the entire stone chamber as bright as day.

The monster, sensing the growing power of the magic circle, grew even more frantic. With a deafening roar, it leaped with all its might, charging towards the magic circle like a black cannonball, attempting to break through it before it could grow stronger. The moment it made contact, a powerful electrical current surged from the circle like a dragon emerging from the sea, striking the monster with pinpoint accuracy. The monster roared in agony, its voice filled with rage and resentment, its body instantly enveloped by the current, trembling violently. Its limbs flailing frantically, trying to break free from the current's grip, but to no avail.

"Success!" Lin Yu shouted excitedly, a gratified smile on his face. This short-lived victory gave him a glimmer of hope, but he knew in his heart that the battle was far from over.

Yet, the monster refused to give up. With its tenacious vitality and its will to survive, it continued to struggle. The black mist surrounding it resembled a massive, savage black dragon, battling the current. For a moment, the current and the black mist were locked in a stalemate, and the air was filled with powerful energy fluctuations, making it feel suffocating.

Suna stared at the monster, knowing that this wasn't a long-term solution. "Lin Yu, we can't just defend ourselves. We have to find a way to completely destroy it." Her eyes revealed a firm determination, knowing that only by completely destroying the monster could they be truly safe.

Lin Yu nodded emphatically, his eyes quickly looking around, trying to find new clues. Suddenly, he found a groove on the stone platform. The shape of the groove was surprisingly similar to the runes he had seen on the crystal ball. "Suna, look at that groove. Maybe it's related to the crystal ball." He pointed at the groove and said excitedly.

Suna looked in the direction Lin Yu pointed, and something occurred to her. "Could it be that he wanted to put the fragments of the crystal ball in there?" she guessed.

The two men quickly searched the stone chamber for the crystal ball's fragments. They rummaged through the rubble on the floor, leaving no stone untouched. Finally, in a corner, they found a few fragments with runes on them. As they carefully placed the fragments into the grooves, a soft, mysterious light emanated from the stone platform. This light echoed with the light of the magic circle, like old friends reuniting after a long separation, their mutual resonance.

The power of the magic circle instantly increased several times. A powerful suction emanated from it, sucking the monster in like a black hole. The monster struggled desperately, its limbs flailing wildly in the air, roaring angrily. But it was all to no avail. Its body was gradually swallowed by the magic circle, and the black mist gradually dissipated.
