Chapter 250: The Mysterious Figure and the Ruins Finale

Mysterious Figure and Ruins Finale

Lin Yu and Suna instantly felt as if they were facing a formidable enemy. Their bodies instinctively tensed, every nerve like a taut bowstring. They stared warily at the figure slowly emerging from the darkness, their hearts pounding as if grasped by an invisible hand, threatening to burst through their chests. Almost subconsciously, Lin Yu quickly and securely shielded Suna behind him. His grip on the faintly glowing spear clenched tightly, his knuckles white with the strain. His eyes betrayed determination and vigilance, ready to face any unknown danger.

As the figure gradually became clearer in the gloom, they saw it was an elderly man dressed in a simple, ancient robe. He was thin, as if the torrent of time had ripped through him mercilessly, leaving only a skeletal shell. His face was etched with deep wrinkles, like the veins on ancient tree bark, recording the vicissitudes of time. His eyes were deep and wise, like two bottomless pools, hiding countless untold stories. His hair and beard were both gray, and in the dim light, they seemed to emit a faint, dreamy aura, adding a touch of mystery to him.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" The old man's voice was low and hoarse, as if it came from the depths of time, with a kind of fatigue and solemnity that had gone through vicissitudes of life. It echoed in the narrow passage, like a dull bell, knocking on Lin Yu and Suna's nervous nerves.

Lin Yu frowned, his heart a whirlwind of doubt, vigilance, and curiosity. But in this unfamiliar and dangerous environment, he could only suppress his complex emotions and answer with a brave face, "We lost our way in the Insect Valley and stumbled upon this ruin. Senior, who are you? Why are you here alone?" Although Lin Yu tried to remain calm, the slight tremor in his voice betrayed his inner unease.

The old man sighed softly, a sigh that seemed to carry with it countless memories. His gaze slowly swept over Lin Yu and Suna, like a sharp scalpel, attempting to penetrate their souls. "I am a descendant of the former guardian of this ruin. For generations, our family has shouldered the heavy responsibility of protecting its secrets. You have braved countless hardships and dangers to reach this point." The old man's words were filled with admiration for them, but also with a hint of worry.

Suna couldn't help but cautiously peek out from behind Lin Yu, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "So what secrets are hidden here? What do these strange symbols and patterns carved on the stone door mean?" Suna's voice was crisp, but it seemed particularly abrupt in the silent passage.

The old man was silent for a long time, as if lost in memories of the past. After a moment, he slowly spoke, his voice tinged with nostalgia and solemnity: "This ruin was once the site of worship for an incredibly powerful tribe in ancient times. That tribe possessed a mysterious and powerful power, so magical that it could communicate with heaven and earth and control the forces of nature. However, this unimaginable power attracted the covetousness of evil forces. They coveted this power like hungry wolves, hoping to seize it for themselves to fulfill their ulterior motives. To protect this power from being abused and bringing catastrophic disaster to the world, the tribe's wise men exhausted their wisdom and sealed it in the deepest part of the ruins. At the same time, they set up various mechanisms and powerful guardian beasts to prevent any outsiders with ulterior motives from entering."

Lin Yu's heart suddenly moved, and the scene of the fierce battle with the armored creature just now instantly emerged in his mind. "So the armored creature we just fought so hard to defeat is used to protect the seal?" Lin Yu asked anxiously, a hint of sudden enlightenment in his eyes.

The old man nodded slowly, his expression solemn: "Yes, it is an evil spirit sealed here, endowed with powerful protective power. Only those who have passed numerous difficult tests are qualified to know the secrets hidden behind the ruins. Since you were able to defeat it, perhaps you really have some special fate with this place." A trace of relief flashed in the old man's eyes.

Suna's gaze once again fell on the mysterious symbols on the stone door, her eyes filled with anxiety and longing. "Can you decipher these symbols? We really want to know what's behind this door." Suna's voice was pleading, as if the secret behind the stone door was her only obsession.

The old man slowly stepped forward, his steps steady and slow, each one like treading on the strings of time. He approached the stone door, carefully examining the symbols, his eyes revealing a complex expression of awe, nostalgia, and a hint of worry. "These symbols record the method of opening the seal and the ancient legend of a mysterious power. But deciphering them is no easy task. It requires a clear mind, a reverent and focused heart, and a specific order of interpretation. The slightest mistake could lead to unintended consequences." The old man's voice was low and solemn, as if he were reciting ancient precepts.

As he spoke, the old man slowly extended his hand, veined and wrinkled like a map of time. He gently touched the symbols on the stone door, his fingertips tracing the uneven lines, as if conversing with the ancient past. As he touched, the symbols began to flicker with a faint light, like sparks, flickering in the darkness. Lin Yu and Suna stared nervously, not daring to breathe, as if even a heavy breath would disturb this mysterious and fragile balance.

Suddenly, a violent tremor erupted from the passage, as if the earth were groaning in pain. The light from the stone gate grew stronger, like a rising sun, illuminating the entire passage. More symbols and patterns appeared on the surrounding walls. These patterns read like a vivid history, recounting the tribe's rise and fall, the origins and development of mysterious powers, and the gruesome battle between good and evil. In the patterns, the tribe's warriors bravely resisted the invasion of evil, their eyes filled with determination and fearlessness; while the evil surged forward like a black tide, seeking to devour everything.
