Chapter 26: Crisis on the Full Moon Night

Crisis on Full Moon Night

As the moon rose higher, the town's atmosphere grew eerie and gloomy. The already dim streets were enveloped by the cold moonlight, casting distorted shadows. The wind died quietly, and a deathly silence fell, as if time had frozen. Only the tense breathing of the people echoed through the houses, each breath a terrifying drumbeat in the silence.

Lin Yu gripped the weapon the man had given him tightly. The cold feel of the weapon made his palms sweat, but his gaze remained firm and resolute, fixed on the doors and windows, as if to ward off the impending danger with his eyes. "Everyone, be careful. We don't know when that evil force will appear." His voice was low and powerful, trying to bring a sense of comfort and courage to everyone, but his own heartbeat was like a rapid drumbeat, and the fear within him continued to grow. "We must make it through this, we must," he silently encouraged himself.

Suna sat in a corner, her body trembling uncontrollably, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness, like a frightened little rabbit. "I... I'm so scared," she cried, clutching her knees tightly, trying to stop the trembling. "Why is this happening? Can we survive?" Horrifying images flashed through her mind, each one filling her with despair.

Old Chen walked over to her and gently patted her shoulder, his eyes filled with concern and comfort. "Don't be afraid, child. We will get through this together." Though his voice was gentle, Old Chen's inner tension couldn't be masked. He thought of his family and friends, of the good times. "I must return alive, I must," he vowed silently.

At this moment, a sinister howl rang out from afar, piercing the night sky like a wail from the depths of hell, sending chills down one's spine. The sound seemed to carry an invisible force, penetrating the walls and striking everyone's heart.

"What...what's that sound?" Suna covered her ears in fear, her eyes widening with tears welling up in her eyes. Her body trembled even more violently, as if the sound was about to tear her soul apart.

The man's face was grim, his eyes revealing a deep sense of fear and helplessness. "They're coming," his voice was low and hoarse, as if he had foreseen the horrific scene to come. He clenched his weapon, his knuckles turning white from the strain. "This is the power of the curse. We must resist." His heart was filled with conflict and struggle, unsure if he could escape this horrible fate this time.

Everyone's heart instantly rose to their throats, the tense atmosphere like an invisible net, binding them tightly. Then, the doors and windows began to shake violently, making loud "clang clang" noises, as if something huge and ferocious was pounding against them from outside. Each impact made the house tremble, as if it would collapse at any moment.

"Prepare for battle!" Lin Yu shouted, his voice resounding in the chaos. His eyes burned with the fire of battle. Despite the fear in his heart, he knew he couldn't retreat now. "We can't just sit there and wait for death. We must fight with all our might!" His body tensed, bracing for the impending attack.

Lao Chen raised his weapon, aiming it at the door. His arms trembled slightly with nervousness. "Come on! Whatever it is, we're not afraid!" Lao Chen's voice was filled with determination, his face a steely expression. "For survival, for hope!" he cried in his heart.

However, the moment the door was thrown open, a powerful force toppled them all to the ground. Like a raging storm, it instantly engulfed them. Lin Yu felt his body lose control and fall heavily to the ground. His vision was a chaotic mess, dust billowing, and he could see nothing clearly.

"Ah!" Suna screamed. She was frightened by the sudden impact and was at a loss what to do.

The man rolled on the ground several times and quickly got up. "Everyone be careful!" His voice was drowned out by the chaotic noise.

Lin Yu struggled to get up from the ground, coughing and brushing away the dust. When he finally took in the scene, his heart tightened. A group of dark figures poured in from the doorway, their forms blurry and emitting an evil aura.

"What on earth is this?" Lin Yu asked in horror.

The dark shadows roared deeply and pounced towards them.

Lin Yu raised his weapon and rushed towards the shadows, "Fight them!"

Lao Chen followed closely behind, shouting, "Kill!"

On this terrifying night of the full moon, a battle of life and death begins...
