Chapter 260: The Zombie Town Crisis Arrives

Zombie Ancient Town, Crisis Coming

Leaving the peaceful town where they once faced life-or-death crises together, Lin Yu and Suna embark on a journey filled with fantasy and adventure, filled with boundless longing for the unknown and a desire to explore. Like two free birds, they traverse rolling mountains and wade through gurgling streams, taking in the breathtaking splendor of nature's uncanny craftsmanship. Yet, their thirst for adventure remains ever-present, keeping them alert for any clue that might lead to a new challenge.

One day, they arrived at a bustling, bustling city. It felt like a vast melting pot, a melting pot of people from all corners of the world. The streets were bustling with activity. A diverse crowd thronged the streets: vendors hawking exotic goods, wealthy merchants on majestic horses, and wandering knights. Lin Yu and Suna entered a bustling tavern, the air thick with the aroma of wine and food, the sounds of laughter and the clinking of glasses mingling.

They found a seat in a corner and ordered some food and drinks. As they ate, a conversation between a few businessmen at a nearby table caught their attention. One of them, a slightly portly man in a brocade robe, lowered his voice nervously, "Have you heard? There's an ancient town a hundred miles from here. It's been going really weird lately. There's a zombie outbreak."

"What? Zombies!" A skinny diner nearby widened his eyes in surprise, nearly spitting out his wine. "This is no joke. Wasn't that ancient town originally quite peaceful? How come zombies are suddenly everywhere?"

The fat businessman nodded worriedly and continued, "Yeah, I find it strange too. But it's absolutely true. Many people have disappeared, and neither the living nor the dead have been found."

Another diner chimed in, "That's right. I've also heard that zombies are incredibly strong and invulnerable, like they're made of iron. The authorities sent people to investigate, but they've never been able to find any more. I guess they're in great danger."

Lin Yu and Suna exchanged a glance, their eyes instantly alight with curiosity and a sense of challenge, as if they had discovered a brilliant pearl in the darkness. Lin Yu leaned slightly closer to Suna and whispered, "That sounds like another tricky situation. What do you think? Want to check it out? Perhaps there's some hidden secret behind it." Lin Yu's eyes sparkled with excitement and anticipation; he was always passionate about the unknown.

Suna nodded without hesitation, her eyes revealing determination and courage, and said, "Of course we have to go, maybe we can find something interesting. Besides, those zombies are wreaking havoc in the ancient town, and the people must be living in dire straits. We can't just sit back and watch, we must find a solution and restore peace to the ancient town." Suna's heart was full of a sense of justice, and she could not tolerate evil running rampant in the world.

So, the two quickly packed their bags, bid farewell to the bustling city, and set off towards the ancient town. Along the way, they found that the once bustling official road became increasingly deserted. At first, there were still a few passers-by on the official road, but as they gradually approached the ancient town, the number of passers-by became increasingly scarce. The few pedestrians they occasionally encountered were also hurried and terrified, as if something terrible was chasing them from behind. Lin Yu and Suna stopped a trembling old man and asked what was going on.

The old man stopped and pointed in the direction of the ancient town with a trembling hand. He said in a fearful voice: "You must not go there. That ancient town is very evil. The zombies will eat people! You will die if you go there!" The old man's eyes were full of fear, as if he recalled some terrible scene.

Lin Yu comforted him, "Don't worry, old man, we will be careful. We have some abilities and maybe we can find a solution to restore peace to the ancient town. Can you tell us what exactly happened?" Lin Yu's voice was steady and firm, giving people an inexplicable sense of security.

The old man sighed and said slowly: "Originally, it was a good place, but from one day on, strange noises were heard at night, and then people disappeared. Later, some people saw zombies wandering on the street with their own eyes. Those zombies walked in a swaying manner, and they looked scary. Many people were scared and moved away, and only a few who couldn't leave were left. I guess... Alas!" The old man said, shaking his head helplessly.

Lin Yu and Suna thanked the old man and continued on their way. After several days of trekking, they finally arrived outside the ancient town. At this time, the sun gradually set in the west, and the sky was stained with a strange red, as if it was stained red with blood. The ancient town was shrouded in a gloomy fog, which was thick and turbid. From a distance, the ancient buildings were looming in the fog, like giant beasts lurking in the darkness, revealing an indescribable weirdness. The town entrance was deserted and empty, as if it had been abandoned by the whole world. There were only a few dilapidated coffins placed casually, with the coffin lids half-open, revealing the rotten wooden boards inside, as if zombies would jump out at any time.

Lin Yu and Suna cautiously entered the ancient town. The creaking sound of the cobblestones beneath their feet was particularly piercing in the deathly silence, a warning bell for them. The doors and windows of the houses lining the street were tightly shut. The yellowed talismans taped to the windows swayed precariously in the wind. The talismans were tattered, the runes blurred, and seemed to have long lost their original power to suppress evil. The occasional rustling of fallen leaves in the wind added to the eerie atmosphere.

Suddenly, a chilling wind blew by, carrying with it a sickening, rancid odor, as if emanating from the depths of hell. Lin Yu vigilantly gripped his sword, its blade gleaming with a cold light, as if sensing the impending danger. He leaned slightly to the side and whispered to Suna, "Be careful! Something's happening! This putrid smell could be the zombies coming." Lin Yu's eyes betrayed a wary and focused expression, ready to respond to any impending crisis.
