Chapter 276: Treasures from the Pond, Undercurrents Surge

Treasures from the center of the pond, undercurrents surge

Lin Yu and Suna approached the pool with slow, cautious steps. The shimmering stone in the center of the pool loomed even clearer against the dark blue water, like a mysterious beacon in the darkness, yet exuding an indescribable eeriness. The pool was as still as death, with only the monotonous sound of the falling waterfall echoing in their ears, as if the world had been drained of life, leaving only this lonely sound, adding a touch of eerie atmosphere.

"This pool looks peaceful, but who knows what dangers lie hidden within." Lin Yu lowered his voice, almost whispering it, his eyes fixed on the surface like a hawk, trying to penetrate the dark blue water and peek into the secrets hidden beneath. After the desperate battle with the Black Panther, his nerves were stretched to the limit. He knew that in this strange place, any seemingly ordinary appearance could conceal a deadly threat. At this moment, a strong sense of unease quietly spread within him.

Suna nodded in understanding. She gripped the magic weapon tightly, her palms slick with sweat from the intense tension, nearly causing it to slip. "I'll let the insects test it first," she whispered, a barely perceptible tremor in her voice. Before she finished speaking, she concentrated, directing several insects toward the rock at the center of the pond. Like a group of well-trained soldiers, the insects traced graceful arcs in the air, slowly approaching their target. Just as the insects were about to touch the rock, the previously calm waters suddenly churned violently like boiling water, splashing and emitting a loud noise. An incredibly powerful suction force surged from the bottom of the pond, like a black hole. Like an invisible, immensely powerful hand, it dragged the insects relentlessly underwater with irresistible force.

"Oh no!" Suna cried out, her face turning pale. She hurriedly focused her mind to recall the insects. However, the suction was too strong. Despite her quick reaction, several insects were swept away by it like ants, instantly disappearing into the dark blue water, leaving no trace, as if they had never existed.

"There's something strange about this pool of water. I guess I can't get close to it easily." Lin Yu's brows knitted tightly together, forming the shape of a "川" character, as he secretly pondered a response. His gaze was like a searchlight, quickly scanning the area around the pool, not missing any corner that might hold clues or something he could use.

At that moment, their eyes were simultaneously drawn to several thick vines growing by the pool. These vines draped from the shore into the water, like a ray of hope from nature. Lin Yu's eyes suddenly lit up, as if he had seen a glimmer of light in the darkness. He said, "Perhaps we can use these vines to carefully approach the rocks. I'll go over and check the situation. You wait for me on the shore. If there's any danger, leave immediately." He knew full well that this journey was fraught with danger and was determined to protect Suna.

Su Na looked at Lin Yu with some worry, her eyes full of determination, and said, "No, it's too dangerous. I will go with you. We are together and will live and die together." She absolutely did not want to be separated from Lin Yu at this dangerous moment.

Lin Yu looked at Su Na's determined eyes and knew that he couldn't convince her. He felt worried and touched, so he said, "Okay, let's go together, but you must be careful and follow me closely at all times. Don't make any mistakes."

Cautiously clinging to the vines, as if grasping at straws, the two men slowly moved toward the rock at the center of the pool. With every step, they could clearly sense a mysterious and dangerous force emanating from the depths of the water, as if a pair of evil eyes were watching them from the darkness, warning them not to approach. Just as they finally reached the rock, the water churned again like an enraged beast. This time, not only was there a terrifyingly powerful suction force, but a host of black tentacles suddenly emerged from the depths, clawing at them like a demon with bared fangs.

"Be careful of these tentacles!" Lin Yu shouted, his voice sounding particularly loud in this tense atmosphere. He quickly drew out his sword, the blade flashing a cold light in the dim light. He swung his arm, and with a sharp sound of wind, he slashed at the tentacles fiercely. The sword slashed at the tentacles with a dull "puff" sound, as if it was cutting into rotten flesh. Black mucus splashed out of the tentacles, emitting a pungent stench that made people want to vomit. However, these tentacles seemed endless. When one was cut off, another quickly stretched out from the bottom of the water and continued to grab at them, the attack becoming more and more fierce.

Suna wasn't idle either, concentrating on directing the poisonous insects to attack the tentacles. As if they had received a death order, the insects bit the tentacles relentlessly, trying to stop their frenzied attack. However, the tentacles seemed unfazed by the insects' attacks, continuing their relentless pursuit of Lin Yu and Suna, as if they felt no pain.

"This is not a solution. We have to get the gem and leave here as soon as possible!" Lin Yu shouted while dodging the tentacles' attacks, his voice filled with anxiety and determination. He knew that if they continued to stalemate like this, they would be in an even more dangerous situation. So, he seized the opportunity, ignored the attacks of the tentacles, and struggled to get closer to the stone. Finally, he stretched out his hand with difficulty and tightly grasped the gem on the stone. The moment he grasped the gem, a dazzling light burst out from the gem. The light was like a small sun, instantly covering the entire pool of water. Under the illumination of the light, those black tentacles that were attacking frantically, as if they had encountered their natural enemies, quickly retracted to the bottom of the water, and the water in the pool gradually returned to calm, as if everything just now was just a nightmare.
