Danger is averted, clues become clearer
Lin Yu and Suna stared intently at the remaining mysterious figure, their gazes etched as if they were facing a formidable enemy. The air within the cave seemed to be gripped by an invisible force, oppressing them to the point of suffocation. The silence was so hushed that only the sound of each other's nervous, slightly rapid breathing could be heard. A flicker of hesitation and fear crossed the mysterious figure's eyes, his hand trembling slightly around his weapon. In the dim cavern, his figure seemed frail and helpless. He glanced frantically at his wounded companion, then at Lin Yu and Suna, who stood ready. His mind raced, weighing the pros and cons of continuing the fight or turning and fleeing.
"Don't come over here!" The mysterious man shouted in a timid voice. His voice echoed in the cave, but it could not hide the panic and fear in it. He was like a fallen leaf trembling in the autumn wind.
Lin Yu seized the opportunity and took a step forward, his steps steady and powerful. He pointed his sword directly at the mysterious man, its blade flashing with a cold light, like a vigilant eye in the darkness. His gaze was as sharp as a torch, fixed on the mysterious man. "Who are you? Why are you stopping us from exploring the secrets of the valley?" Lin Yu's voice was firm and powerful, resonating in the cave like a bell, as if to break through the mysterious fog.
The mysterious man gritted his teeth, his lips turning slightly white due to nervousness and hesitation. After a moment's silence, he slowly said, "We...we are descendants of the guardian of the valley. We are ordered to guard the secrets here and must not let outsiders know." His voice was a little hoarse, as if there was a ball of cotton stuck in his throat, and every word he said was extremely difficult.
Lin Yu's heart sank; he hadn't expected such a background. "Guarding a secret? But this secret concerns the gemstone, and something far more significant. Aren't you blindly obstructing the truth by blocking it?" Lin Yu demanded, his eyes gleaming with anxiety and confusion, hoping for a reasonable explanation.
The mysterious man wavered, a flicker of struggle in his eyes, as if he were struggling to weigh his options on an inner balance. "I... I don't know either. It's just that our ancestors taught us this, and we can't go against them." He lowered his head, his voice trailing off, as if trying to avoid Lin Yu's sharp gaze.
At that moment, the injured leader struggled to his feet, clutching his hand at the still-bleeding wound on his shoulder. Blood oozed from between his fingers, forming a small, dark pool on the ground. His eyes were filled with anger and resentment, and he snarled fiercely, "Don't waste your time with them! We can't let them take the books and destroy everything here!" He ignored the pain, suppressed the trembling in his body, and prepared to strike again with hand seals. His eyes burned with a mad fire that seemed to devour Lin Yu and Suna.
Lin Yu and Suna immediately became alert, their bodies tense as bows. Knowing he couldn't give him another chance, Lin Yu shouted, his voice booming through the cave like thunder as he charged towards the leader. Suna, on the other hand, was focused, her hands dancing rapidly, muttering something, directing the Gu worms to swarm towards them once again. The Gu worms, like a black cloud, swirled and surged in the darkness, carrying a hint of chill as they pounced on the enemy.
Seeing Lin Yu rushing over, the leader suppressed his pain, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead as he quickly formed seals. In an instant, a strong wind blew up in the cave, sending flying sand and rocks everywhere, as if the end of the world had come. The wind whistled like countless evil spirits roaring, and sand and rocks were swept up by the strong wind, flying everywhere like hidden weapons, making it impossible to open one's eyes. Lin Yu struggled forward in the wind and sand, and every step seemed to be a fight with an invisible force. He squinted his eyes and swung his sword in the direction of the opponent with his keen intuition. Suddenly, an ice blade shot out from the wind and sand like lightning. Lin Yu dodged sideways, but his arm was still cut open, leaving a bloody wound. The blood instantly dyed his sleeve red, which was particularly dazzling in this dim environment.
On Suna's side, the Gu worms were also affected by the wind and sand, and the once orderly formation became somewhat disorganized. The strong wind was like a pair of invisible hands, trying to blow the Gu worms away. However, she did not give up. She bit her lip and concentrated on controlling the Gu worms, striving to break through the wind and sand. Her eyes were full of determination, and she kept silently reciting the mantra to control the Gu worms, trying to regain their strength.
Lin Yu seized the opportunity when the wind and sand were slightly weaker, and leaped with all his might, like a nimble cheetah, rushing towards the leader. The moment he approached the opponent, he stabbed with a sword. The leader hurriedly dodged, but his movements were not as agile as before, and his arm was scratched by Lin Yu's sword. Blood splattered again, and a pungent fishy smell filled the air. At the same time, Suna's poisonous insects also broke through the wind and sand, and rushed towards the leader like a black tide, biting him. The leader screamed in pain, and the sound echoed in the cave, full of pain and despair. His hand seals suddenly became chaotic, and the raging wind and sand gradually stopped. Everything seemed to have returned to the original calm, with only heavy breathing and faint firelight.
The remaining mysterious figure, seeing the situation was dire, felt a surge of fear, his eyes filled with panic. He glanced at his injured companion, then at the majestic Lin Yu and Suna, and turned to flee. Lin Yu wouldn't let him succeed. He quickly picked up a stone, tensed his arm muscles, and threw it with all his might. The stone whistled away with the sound of wind, striking the mysterious figure's leg with the precision of a cannonball. The mysterious figure fell to the ground with a thud, groaning in pain, and struggled on the ground, trying to get up and escape.
Lin Yu and Suna quickly stepped forward and restrained the two. The leader glared at them with a look of resentment, his eyes burning with anger. "Do you think this will reveal the secrets of the valley? Even if you get the book, you won't be able to decipher its contents!" His voice was filled with provocation and disdain, as if to tell Lin Yu and Suna that their efforts were in vain.
