Chapter 29: The Sealed Land

The Sealed Land

Lin Yu and the others moved cautiously along the eerie streets, each step akin to treading on knife-edge, their nerves straining to the bone. Moonlight filtered through thin clouds, casting an eerie silver veil over the desolate streets. The wind blew quietly, picking up fallen leaves. The rustling sound was remarkably clear in the silence, like a prelude to death.

Suddenly, a deep gully appeared on the road ahead, a gaping wound stretching across their path. A black mist filled the gully, like a writhing mass of black pythons, emitting a pungent odor. The smell penetrated their nostrils, irritating their nerves and leaving them feeling nauseous and dizzy.

"What is this? How did this suddenly appear?" Suna said in horror, her voice trembling like a leaf in the wind. Her eyes were wide open, filled with fear and helplessness. She unconsciously took a few steps back, her hands tightly grasping Lin Yu's arm. "Are we unable to get out?" Her heart was filled with despair. This sudden obstacle almost made her collapse.

Old Chen stepped forward to observe. His brow furrowed, the wrinkles on his face appearing even more profound in the moonlight. "It doesn't look good. This could be the power of the curse," he said in a low, hoarse voice, tinged with deep worry. He crouched down and gently touched the black mist with his weapon. It instantly corroded, leaving tiny marks. "This mist is highly corrosive. Everyone, be extremely careful." He stood up, his gaze fixed on the gully, pondering a strategy.

Lin Yu frowned, his eyes firm and resolute. "No matter what, we have to go through. Everyone be careful." His voice was soft but powerful. He took a deep breath, as if to encourage himself. "We've been through so much. We can't retreat here." His heart was filled with fear of the unknown, but he knew they had no way out.

As they slowly approached the ravine, the pungent smell grew stronger, like an invisible hand tightly gripping their throats, making them dizzy. Blurred visions began to appear before Lin Yu's eyes, as if countless figures were swaying before him, and whispers echoed in his ears, like a call from hell.

"Hold on, don't be fooled by this smell." Lin Yu said through gritted teeth, trying to keep himself awake.

At this moment, pairs of black hands stretched out from the ravine. Those hands were dry and twisted, and their nails were as sharp as knives. They quickly reached out to Lin Yu and others, trying to grab them.

"Ah!" Suna screamed, her voice piercing the night sky, full of fear and despair. She backed away desperately, almost falling to the ground.

The man swung his sword swiftly, its blade gleaming coldly in the moonlight. His movements were sharp and decisive, each strike accurately severing the evil hands. "Don't be afraid, I'm here!" he shouted, his voice filled with courage and determination.

"Let's go!" Lin Yu shouted. He took Su Na's hand and rushed to the other side of the ravine.

They crossed the ravine, the ground beneath their feet becoming slippery due to the black mist, and every step was fraught with danger. But they did not stop, with only one belief in their hearts, that is to reach the sealed place as soon as possible.

Continuing towards the center of the town, the surrounding houses became increasingly dilapidated, with black vines crawling all over the walls, the vines constantly wriggling as if alive. Faint light shone through the windows, as if pairs of eyes were watching them from the dark.

"This place is so scary. I feel like there is danger every step I take." Suna's voice was filled with tears and her body kept shaking.

"Don't be afraid, Suna, we will be there soon." Lin Yu comforted her. Although his own heart was filled with fear, he knew that he had to be strong at this moment.

Finally, they arrived at the center of the town, where a vast square appeared before them. The ground was paved with broken stone slabs, with unknown weeds growing in the cracks. In the center of the square stood an ancient stone platform, engraved with mysterious runes. These runes shimmered faintly, as if telling ancient stories.

However, a group of dark shadows surrounded the stone platform. Their figures were blurred, with only pairs of red eyes flashing in the darkness. They stared at Lin Yu and others with a fierce look, and let out a low roar that sounded like a demon from the abyss.

"It seems this is the final test." Lin Yu took a deep breath and tightened his grip on his weapon. His heartbeat quickened, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead. "Everyone, get ready. We must succeed in lifting the curse." His gaze swept over each of his companions, filled with encouragement and determination.

Lao Chen raised the gun in his hand and said, "Let's fight!"

The man's sword gleamed coldly in the moonlight. "Come on, evil creature!"

Suna also gathered her courage and gathered magical light in her hands, "We won't lose!"

They walked towards the stone platform step by step, each step filled with determination and courage...
