Gaining the heart of the valley, the truth gradually emerges
Lin Yu and Suna slowly approached the stone platform, each step akin to stepping on their own violently beating hearts. As they approached the platform, the light emanating from the Heart of the Valley grew stronger. The once gentle glow now resembled a small sun, illuminating the entire cave as bright as day. This light seemed to possess some kind of magical, healing power, seeping into their exhausted bodies and minds, bringing a rare sense of relief to their nerves, strained by the prolonged tension and fear.
Unable to contain the excitement surging within him, Lin Yu whispered with a trembling voice, "Suna, I think this is the Heart of the Valley. After so much hardship, we've finally found it." His gaze fixed on the enchantingly radiant gem, his eyes gleaming with excitement and anticipation. Suna nodded slightly, her eyes also filled with surprise, but her cautious nature still shone a hint of vigilance. "I hope it can really help us solve all the mysteries and let us know what to do next." Her voice was soft, yet with a subtle hint of worry.
Just as Lin Yu slowly reached out, ready to take the Heart of the Valley, the entire cave suddenly and without warning began to shake violently, as if triggered by some unknown mechanism. Stones on the ceiling began to loosen and fall, and a deafening rumble echoed wildly through the cavern. It felt as if the entire world was collapsing in a doomsday collapse. Lin Yu reacted with remarkable speed, instantly clasping Suna in his arms and forming a solid defense with his body. He surveyed his surroundings warily, his eyes revealing determination and courage, while secretly wondering what this sudden change meant.
From beneath the stone platform, a swarm of tiny, lizard-like monsters emerged like a black tide. Their bodies were covered in a layer of hard black scales, gleaming with a cold, eerie glow in the light. Their eyes, like two balls of burning green flame, exuded a chilling aura, and their mouths emitted a sharp, piercing hiss, as if countless needles were scraping against their eardrums, sending shivers down their spines. These monsters slowly advanced toward Lin Yu and Suna, their steps small but steady and powerful, like a group of well-trained assassins.
"Where did these monsters come from!" Suna couldn't help but exclaim, her voice revealing a trace of undisguised fear. Her body trembled slightly, and she clutched the corner of Lin Yu's clothes tightly, as if it was her only support in this chaos and fear. Lin Yu's brows were tightly furrowed into the shape of the Chinese character "川", and a trace of determination flashed in his eyes. He quickly picked up a large stone from the ground and held it tightly in his hand, as if it was his most powerful weapon at the moment. "Don't be afraid, I'm here. No matter what, I won't let you get hurt." At this moment, although a ripple of worry surged in his heart, he knew that he had to remain calm and protect Suna from the wind and rain like a towering mountain.
The leading lizard monster launched the attack. With a powerful kick of its hind legs, it leaped high into the air, its body tracing a dark arc through the air. Its fang-filled maw opened wide, like a terrifying blade, and it bit down on Lin Yu's throat with such speed that he barely had time to react. Lin Yu's eyes froze, a feeling of danger brewing. He quickly dodged to the side, his movements as nimble as a leopard. The monster's teeth grazed his neck, sending a chilling chill through his spine. Simultaneously, Lin Yu threw the stone he held with all his might at the monster. The stone, with a whistling sound, struck the monster's head like a cannonball, with a muffled thud. The sudden blow sent the monster crashing to the ground, where it rolled several times, but quickly rose again, its eyes gleaming with even greater ferocity. It lunged at Lin Yu once more, its fangs and claws bared.
The other lizard monsters also surrounded them, trapping Lin Yu and Suna in the middle, forming an airtight encirclement. Their eyes were fixed on their prey, and they kept making "hissing" sounds, as if announcing the coming of death to them. While carefully dodging the attacks from all directions, Lin Yu quickly searched for opportunities to counterattack in his mind. His eyes were as sharp as a hawk, and he was always paying attention to the monsters' every move. Finally, he spotted a flaw in the monster's attack and kicked it hard, hitting the monster in the abdomen. The monster flew backwards as if hit by a cannonball, hitting the wall of the cave, letting out a shrill scream and leaving a pool of black stain on the wall.
Suna was also busy nearby. She quickly focused her attention, chanting a mantra as she summoned the poisonous insects. Like a black cloud, the insects emerged from her sleeves, collar, and other places, surging towards the lizard monsters with a buzzing sound of wings. The lizard monsters seemed to sense the threat of the insects, a flash of panic in their eyes, but their ferocity quickly returned. As the insects approached, they twisted their bodies, attempting to shield themselves from the bite with their hard scales. However, the insects were too numerous, and they continued to descend upon the monsters like a black tide. The bitten lizard monsters hissed in pain, twisting their bodies frantically in an attempt to break free, but to no avail.
Taking advantage of the monsters' distraction, Lin Yu slammed his feet into the ground and rushed towards the stone platform like a flash of black lightning, with a single thought in mind: to seize the Heart of the Valley. However, a larger lizard monster seemed to sense Lin Yu's intentions. It let out a sharp hiss and rushed over to intercept him. This monster was nearly twice the size of its peers, its scales thicker, and it exuded an even more intense evil aura. Lin Yu engaged in a fierce struggle with it. He gripped the stone tightly in his hands and repeatedly struck the monster with force, but the monster's scales were as hard as steel, and the stone only left a shallow mark, causing Lin Yu's hands to ache.
