Misty forest, full of dangers
Lin Yu, Su Na, and Leng Xuan slowly stepped into the misty forest, their hearts filled with trepidation and determination. A thick, inky fog instantly enveloped them like a surging tide. The world before them seemed obscured by a thick white curtain, visibility less than ten feet. All around them was a shroud of chaos, as if they were in a secluded, white purgatory. The damp, decaying air, like countless tiny tentacles, penetrated their nostrils and burrowed deep into their hearts. Every breath carried a sickening stench, leaving their stomachs churning.
"Everyone, be careful! This fog is strange. Don't lose us." Lin Yu's voice subtly lowered, as if afraid of disturbing the unknown danger hidden within. He gripped his sword tightly, his knuckles turning white from the strain. His eyes darted around with vigilance, his heart beating uncontrollably faster. Every subtle sound was like a hammer striking his taut nerves. His mind raced with every possible danger, knowing full well that this misty forest was no place for peace.
Su Na followed closely behind Lin Yu, like a frightened deer, her palms already drenched with sweat. She softly replied, "Hmm, it feels like danger is lurking everywhere here. I wonder what dangers await us." With that, she hurriedly summoned several poisonous insects. These insects, like nimble black dots, vanished into the misty surroundings under her control, exploring potential dangers. Her heart was filled with worry, both for her own safety and that of her companions, and for the success of this quest to find clues to the gemstone.
Leng Xuan held the Shadow Moon Blade, which flickered with a strange, faint light in the mist. His eyes, sharp as an eagle's, carefully observed everything around him. He said, "This fog not only severely affects our vision, but also seems to be quietly interfering with our perception. Everyone must remain calm and not panic." Leng Xuan knew that in such an environment, any panic could have fatal consequences.
The three of them advanced cautiously, taking every step with extreme caution, as if a hidden trap might be triggered at any moment. Suddenly, a low roar echoed from a distance. The sound seemed to come from the depths of the earth, carrying a dull and shocking power, echoing in the mist, making it impossible to discern the sound's exact source. Lin Yu's face instantly turned solemn, and he whispered, "A beast is approaching. Prepare for battle!" His eyes revealed determination and resolve. Although he was filled with fear of the unknown, his determination to protect his companions and complete his mission quickly calmed him.
As soon as the words fell, a massive black panther suddenly burst out of the mist like a bolt of black lightning. Its eyes gleamed with a faint green light, like two burning will-o'-the-wisp flames, appearing particularly eerie and terrifying in the mist. It opened its bloody mouth, its sharp fangs gleaming with a cold gleam in the dim light, and pounced fiercely at Lin Yu, so fast that only a black afterimage was left in its wake.
Lin Yu reacted incredibly quickly, dodging sideways. The black panther's massive body brushed past him, missing him and landing heavily on the ground, sending up a cloud of dust. Without hesitation, it spun around and attacked again, its movements as swift as a ghost. Lin Yu swung his sword at the black panther, its powerful blade whistling as it struck the panther's body, leaving only a shallow mark, as if it had struck incredibly hard rock. The shock numbed Lin Yu's arm.
"This black panther's defense is so strong!" Lin Yu was secretly surprised, and a chill surged through his heart. He knew that the black panther before him was no ordinary beast, and this battle would be extremely difficult. But he had no intention of retreating. He had only one belief in his heart: no matter what, he must protect Suna and Leng Xuan.
Seeing this, Suna immediately focused her attention and directed the poisonous insects to attack the black panther's eyes. Like a cloud of black mist, the insects surged towards the panther's eyes with a buzzing sound. The black panther seemed to sense danger and frantically shook its head, trying to dispel the insects. However, despite Suna's precise control, several insects still managed to sting its eyes. The black panther let out a painful roar that echoed around and shook the mist. It scratched its eyes frantically with its sharp claws, and for a moment, it lost its ability to attack and spun madly in place.
Leng Xuan seized the opportunity and rushed forward without hesitation. The Shadow Moon Blade in his hand shone with an increasingly intense and strange light, as if inspired by some mysterious force. He aimed at the black panther's neck and swung with all his might. The Shadow Moon Blade, with a brilliant flash of light, struck the black panther's neck. The black panther's body froze, its once fierce eyes dimming instantly. Then it slowly fell to the ground, dissolving into a puff of black smoke and vanishing without a trace, as if it had never appeared.
"How could this black panther suddenly disappear?" Suna asked in surprise, her eyes filled with confusion and fear. Her heart was still beating rapidly, and she was still frightened by the battle just now.
Leng Xuan frowned, fell into deep thought, and said slowly: "It seems that the beasts in this forest are not simple, and perhaps they are inextricably linked to that mysterious power. We must not take it lightly, the next danger may be even more difficult." His heart was also full of doubts. All the strange phenomena in this misty forest seemed to imply that they were approaching a huge secret step by step, and it also meant that they would face more unknown challenges.
The three continued on their way. The fog showed no sign of dissipating, but instead grew thicker, blurring the surrounding landscape. It felt as if the entire world had been swallowed by the white mist. Suddenly, a fork in the road appeared ahead. Both paths were completely shrouded in fog, making it impossible to see what lay at the end.
