Chapter 298: Bravely Crossing the Dangerous River, the Temple Appears

Lin Yu and Leng Xuan breathed a sigh of relief as Suna successfully crossed the wooden bridge to join them. Looking back, the three of them saw the river calm again, as if the fierce battle had just ended in a nightmare. However, the pungent odor that permeated the air and the black blood stains on the wooden bridge reminded them of the danger they had just experienced. They knew that the dangers of this misty forest were far from over, and greater challenges might still await them.

After a brief rest, the three continued forward, following the direction indicated by the runes. As they advanced, the surrounding scenery gradually changed, the once barren grassland gradually giving way to dense forest. A light mist permeated the woods, as ethereal as a veil, yet permeated with a sinister aura. The trees were tall and ancient, their trunks covered in moss. The moss clung to the trunks like green monsters, clawing and baring its fangs. The branches intertwined, forming a green dome that obscured the sky and blocked out the sunlight. Occasionally, a few rays of sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, forming golden beams of light, but this did nothing to dispel the forest's eerie atmosphere. Instead, it made it appear even more mysterious and eerie.

After walking for a long time through the woods, they came upon an ancient temple. The temple walls were built of massive stones, seemingly relics from ancient times, each bearing the marks of time. The stones were engraved with mysterious runes and patterns, seemingly connected to the runes they had seen earlier in the meadow. These runes and patterns were twisted and complex, as if telling an unknown story. The temple's gates were tightly closed, and above them stood two massive animal heads. Their eyes were hollow, yet they seemed to gaze at them, imbuing them with an invisible pressure. The beast heads were hideous and terrifying, like demons guarding hell, a formidable sight.

"Finally found it! This must be the temple Leng Xuan mentioned." Lin Yu looked at the temple, feeling both excited and nervous. He was excited because they were one step closer to finding the gemstone, but he was also nervous because he knew they were about to face an unprecedented danger. His heartbeat accelerated uncontrollably, almost as if it was about to burst out of his throat.

"This temple looks very mysterious. I wonder what's hidden inside," Suna said, a hint of worry in her eyes. Her intuition told her that this temple was full of unknown dangers, like a huge trap waiting for them to step into.

Leng Xuan carefully observed the temple's walls and gates, his eyes focused and sharp, trying to find clues from the runes and patterns. He said, "These runes and patterns may be the key to opening the temple. We must study them carefully." He knew that unlocking the secrets of these runes might open the door to the gem, but it might also trigger more dangerous mechanisms.

Just as they were about to examine the runes more closely, they suddenly heard a deep roar from within the temple. The sound echoed through the woods, rustling the leaves. The roar seemed to come from an ancient beast, carrying a chilling menace. The sound was like a hammer, hammering at their hearts again and again, causing their blood to freeze.

What does this roar mean? What dangers are hidden in the temple? Can they successfully enter the temple and find clues to the gems? Everything is full of unknowns, waiting for them to explore. Lin Yu thought to himself: "No matter what, I must protect Suna and Leng Xuan and uncover the secrets of the temple. Even if there are mountains of swords and seas of fire ahead, I will make a way for them." Suna also silently encouraged herself in her heart: "Together with Lin Yu and Leng Xuan, we can face any danger. We have been through so much, nothing can stop us." Leng Xuan gripped the Shadow Moon Blade tightly, staring firmly at the temple gate, ready to respond to any emergency. His heart was full of vigilance, but at the same time he looked forward to solving the mystery of the temple as soon as possible, finding clues to the gems, and completing their mission.
