Chapter 304: Dangerous Canyon, Bravely Fighting the Hydra

Dangerous canyon, bravely fighting the Hydra

Lin Yu, Suna, and Leng Xuan, carrying their first artifact, hurriedly set out on the road to the middle reaches of the Yellow River. As they approached their destination, the once clear blue sky was slowly covered with a gray veil, as if by an invisible giant hand. Dark clouds gathered rapidly, and the sky became increasingly gloomy and depressing, as if the entire world was shrouded in an ominous shadow, foreshadowing the impending dangers.

The mysterious canyon in the middle reaches of the Yellow River resembles a hideous gash in the earth. Towering mountains on either side resemble two impenetrable black barriers, tightly trapping the surging Yellow River. The river roars and tumbles like an enraged dragon, its surging waves crashing against the canyon walls with the force of a tidal wave, creating a deafening roar. The sound, echoing back and forth across the narrow gorge, resembles the rumble of countless thunders at the bottom of the valley, or the neighing of a galloping army, a truly horrifying experience.

The three of them walked carefully along the edge of the canyon. The ground under their feet was as slippery as if it were greased with oil, and was covered with thick moss. Every step they took required extreme caution, for fear that they would slip and fall into the surging Yellow River. Suna held Lin Yu's arm tightly, her palms were full of sweat, and her eyes revealed an unconcealable fear. She said with a slightly trembling voice: "Lin Yu, this place feels so gloomy, as if countless pairs of eyes are peeping at us in the dark. I'm so scared." Lin Yu felt Suna's fear, patted her hand gently, trying to convey his calmness to her, and comforted her: "Don't be afraid, Suna, Leng Xuan and I are by your side. The artifact must be nearby. We have a mission. As long as we deal with it carefully, we will be able to overcome the danger. You have to cheer up."

Leng Xuan, like a vigilant cheetah, remained on high alert at all times. His eyes were as sharp as a hawk's, scanning the dim and eerie environment, not missing any slight movement or suspicious signs. He tightly grasped the Shadow Moon Blade in his hand, the blade gleaming with an icy cold light in the dim light, as if sensing the atmosphere of the impending battle. "Everyone, please be careful. The terrain here is complex, and deadly traps and dangers may be hidden everywhere. Stay vigilant, don't slack off, and be prepared to deal with emergencies at any time." Leng Xuan whispered, his voice soft but revealing an unquestionable determination.

At that moment, a deep, drawn-out roar erupted from the front. It seemed to emanate from the dark abyss deep within the canyon, as if some enormous creature, long dormant, had been suddenly awakened, carrying with it boundless rage and menace. Lin Yu's expression instantly darkened, his heart racing. He shouted, "It's the Hydra! Prepare for battle!" As soon as he finished speaking, an immense Hydra slowly emerged from the depths of the canyon. Its body was as thick as a mountain range, covered in inky black scales. Each scale gleamed with an eerie, cold sheen, as if composed of countless pieces of meticulously polished obsidian. Its nine heads rose high, like nine small hills, each one a unique shape, emanating a chilling aura. From some of these heads spewed long tongues, their tips gleaming with an eerie blue light, as if laced with deadly toxins. Others let out deep, furious roars that shook the very air around them.

The Hydra launched the first attack. One of its heads suddenly opened its bloody maw, and a stream of black venom, like a black torrent, blasted towards Lin Yu at an extremely fast speed. The venom traced a twisting arc through the air, carrying a pungent, rancid odor, like countless black hidden weapons, swiftly shooting towards Lin Yu. Lin Yu was startled by the strong stench, his heart instantly tense, and he quickly dodged to the side. The venom puffed onto the ground, instantly corroding deep pits that emitted acrid white smoke. The ground sizzled as if being corroded by strong acid, making a "sizzling" sound, as if groaning in pain.

"This venom is extremely corrosive, everyone be careful!" Lin Yu shouted, his voice echoing through the canyon. Leng Xuan, hearing this, brandished his Shadow Moon Blade without hesitation, charging at the Hydra like a flash of black lightning. Seeing this, the Hydra's other two heads attacked Leng Xuan fiercely from different directions. The two massive heads were like two roaring mountains, moving at such speed that it was almost impossible to react. Leng Xuan's eyes were determined, his body moving with ghostly agility through the canyon. The Shadow Moon Blade wielded with ferocity, creating a series of sharp gusts of wind. With his masterful swordsmanship, he skillfully parried the Hydra's attacks time and time again, sparks flying between the Shadow Moon Blade and the serpent's fangs. However, the Hydra's attacks were relentless, one wave after another. Leng Xuan gradually felt his strength failing, and beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.

Suna, fully aware of the dire situation, quickly focused her attention, her hands dancing rapidly in the air, muttering to herself as she directed the Gu worms toward the Hydra. Under her control, the Gu worms surged toward the Hydra like a thick black mist. The Hydra seemed wary of the Gu worms, and one of its heads suddenly erupted in a blazing flame. The flames were an eerie turquoise, scorching with heat, instantly igniting the surrounding air. The Gu worms struggled within the flames, emitting a humming sound, as if expressing their pain. Suna gritted her teeth, a vein bulging on her forehead as she tightened her control over the Gu worms. A hint of determination etched in her eyes, she directed the Gu worms to scatter and attack the Hydra from different directions, attempting to break through its defenses.
