Chapter 306: Finding Opportunity in the Mist, Finally Obtaining the Artifact

Searching for opportunities in the fog, the artifact is finally found

In the pitch-black fog, Lin Yu's heart felt as if it were being gripped by an invisible hand, rising to his throat. Every slightest movement was like a deadly danger lurking in the darkness, ready to leap out like a venomous snake and deliver a fatal blow. He knew that he had to remain calm at this moment; panic would only plunge them into a deeper predicament. "Everyone, don't move. Stay in touch!" Lin Yu shouted in a low voice, trying to sound calm, but his heart was surging like a raging sea. He knew that in this perilous fog, if he scattered or lost his composure, the consequences would be disastrous.

"I'm here!" Suna responded, her voice trembling slightly as she fought to contain the tidal wave of fear that surged within her. She clutched the hem of her clothes, her knuckles turning white from the strain, her eyes searching futilely through the fog, trying to catch even the slightest sign of danger. She felt as if she were trapped in an endless, dark abyss, surrounded by unknown terrors. The voices of her companions became her only recourse.

Leng Xuan remained silent, his concentration focused on sensing the shifting air currents around him. He knew that the Hydra's massive size would inevitably cause air movement. With sufficient attentiveness, he could detect its trajectory in advance, thus gaining a slight advantage in this dark fog. Suddenly, he keenly sensed a slight fluctuation in the air currents to his right, like a stone dropped into a calm lake, creating subtle ripples. He knew that a massive monster was slowly approaching. "There's movement on the right, get ready!" Leng Xuan warned softly. Though his voice was low, it struck Lin Yu and Suna like a hammer.

Lin Yu and Suna immediately became nervous, their nerves instantly tense as if they were strings. Lin Yu subconsciously clenched his sword, his knuckles turning slightly white from the force, and the sword flashed a faint cold light in the darkness, as if it also sensed the impending danger. Suna suppressed her inner fear and concentrated her mind to command the poisonous insects to fly in the direction pointed by Leng Xuan. The poisonous insects struggled forward in the fog, making a faint "buzzing" sound. This sound was particularly abrupt in the silent fog, like a weak cry struggling in the darkness. However, before the poisonous insects could get close to their target, a huge force suddenly hit them, like a surging undercurrent, instantly scattering the poisonous insects. The poisonous insects wailed, fell one after another, and disappeared in the dark fog.

"Be careful!" Lin Yu shouted, relying on the intuition cultivated by years of adventure, as he swung his sword with all his might in the direction of the sound. The sword struck a solid object with a whistling sound, numbing his arm and sending a sharp pain through his knuckles. He knew he had struck the head of the Hydra. The Hydra roared in pain, its roar resonating like thunder through the mist, shaking the surrounding air. Then, Lin Yu felt a strong, fishy wind sweeping towards him, like a wave of rotting flesh. His heart tightened, knowing the Hydra's attack was imminent. He quickly rolled backward, his body rubbing against the rough ground, causing a stinging sensation. He shouted, "This fog is obscuring our vision. We can't attack blindly. We must find a way to discover the Hydra's movements, or we'll all die here!" Lin Yu's voice was tinged with anxiety, but more so with determination. He knew that in this life-or-death situation, he must remain calm and devise a strategy.

Leng Xuan dodged the impending attacks while rapidly strategizing. He tried to recall the Hydra's previous attack patterns, trying to identify any flaws. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck him: not only did the Hydra's head gather power, but its body also made subtle movements before each attack. He excitedly exclaimed, "Listen for the sounds and feel the ground shaking. The Hydra's body will move before it strikes. We can use this to dodge and counterattack! This could be the key to our survival!" Leng Xuan's voice echoed through the mist, bringing a glimmer of hope to Lin Yu and Suna.

Everyone immediately focused their attention, carefully sensing the suffocating fog. Their breathing became rapid and heavy, and every sense was mobilized to the extreme. After a while, there was a slight vibration from the ground, like the dull sound of drums coming from afar, becoming clearer and clearer. Lin Yu shouted: "It's coming!" The three of them quickly dispersed in different directions, their movements swift and panic. Sure enough, a head of the Hydra emerged from the fog, like a demon's claw in the darkness, spraying venom. The venom drew strange traces in the fog, as if the scythe of the god of death was waving in the air. Fortunately, they dodged in time, and the venom fell into the air, splashing a cloud of dust and making a "sizzling" sound. The ground was instantly corroded into deep pits.

Taking advantage of the gaps between the Hydra's attacks, Lin Yu tried to calm his pounding heart. He listened carefully to the sounds made by its movement, trying to determine its location based on the direction and size of the sounds. He whispered, "I can roughly determine its location. Leng Xuan, you go around from the left and use your speed advantage to give it a fatal blow. I'll attract its attention from the right and try to distract its defenses. Suna, you command the poisonous insects to interfere with its vision and create an opportunity for us. We'll then look for an opportunity to attack its neck weakness. This is our only way right now, everyone be careful!" Although Lin Yu's voice was low, it was filled with an unquestionable determination.

Leng Xuan and Suna whispered their understanding. The three of them acted according to plan. Lin Yu deliberately made noises, striking the ground with his sword. A resounding clang echoed through the silent mist, a challenge to the Hydra. The Hydra was indeed drawn in, angrily lunging towards Lin Yu. Lin Yu nimbly moved through the mist, his figure like a ghost, constantly shifting positions to evade the Hydra's attacks. Each evasion brought him a close brush with death, and cold sweat drenched his back.
