A turning point in despair, sealing hope
As the scorpion's stinger threatened to pierce them with thunderous force, Lin Yu's heart felt as if gripped by an invisible hand, nearly stopping. Extreme tension and fear washed over him like a tide, but his mind raced at an incredible speed in this life-or-death moment. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a prominent protrusion on the base of a nearby stone statue, a ray of hope, a ray of hope from fate in this dark moment. Without a second thought, he used all his remaining strength to push against the statue.
The stone statue, propelled by Lin Yu, swayed slightly, then emitted a dull rumbling sound, like the low hum of an ancient beast. With this roar, the statue slowly collapsed towards the scorpion. The entire ruins seemed to tremble at the sight. The scorpion, completely focused on its fatal attack on Lin Yu and Leng Xuan, had not anticipated this sudden change. Failure to evade the attack resulted in a resounding "bang" as the stone statue struck one of its pincers.
"Hurry, now!" Lin Yu yelled at the top of his lungs, his voice resounding in the tense atmosphere, reverberating like a bell through the ruins. Leng Xuan, upon hearing the shout, rushed towards the scorpion like a flash of black lightning, without hesitation. The Shadow Moon Blade in his hand flashed with an icy light, as if sensing its owner's resolve. Leng Xuan zeroed in on the scorpion's battered joint, channeling all his strength into his arm and slamming the Shadow Moon Blade down hard. Meanwhile, Lin Yu, disregarding his own personal danger, followed closely behind, sword in hand, stabbing the scorpion's leg. The sword and Shadow Moon Blade gleamed in the dim light, as if engaged in a fierce struggle against the eerie surroundings.
The scorpion, struck with pain, let out a deafening roar. The roar threatened to collapse the entire ruins. It lashed its tail frantically, its venom splattering everywhere like raindrops. The venom sizzled as it landed on the ground, instantly corroding it into tiny, smoking pits. The pungent odor quickly filled the air, nearly suffocating the viewer.
Suna dodged the splattering venom, her heart clenching with each splash. But she knew she couldn't retreat at this moment. She suppressed her fear and focused all her energy on commanding the remaining Gu worms. These Gu worms, like her last hope, flew like a black mist, desperately towards the scorpion's eyes. The Gu worms seemed to sense the urgency of the situation and, with all their might, finally stung the scorpion. One of the scorpion's eyes instantly oozed green mucus, emitting a sickening odor. The scorpion's vision was obstructed, and it twisted its body in anger, the entire ruins trembling with its struggle.
"It's injured in the eye, slowing its movements. Keep attacking!" Lin Yu shouted, his voice tinged with excitement and determination. A glimmer of hope ignited within him. He realized that if they continued to work together, they might be able to defeat this terrifying scorpion. During the fierce battle, Lin Yu pondered as he attacked, "Although this scorpion's defenses are as strong as a steel fortress, its movements are not very agile. Perhaps we can exploit this and find a way to defeat it."
However, this scorpion was anything but ordinary. After a brief moment of confusion, it suddenly erupted with immense strength, struggling to break free from the statue's grip. Then, wielding its other pincer, it charged towards Leng Xuan and Lin Yu with overwhelming force. The gust of wind stirred by the swinging pincers resembled a demonic roar. One of its pincers clamped down fiercely on Lin Yu, moving so fast that he couldn't dodge. With a hiss, Lin Yu's arm was lacerated by the pincers, and blood instantly gushed out, staining his sleeve red.
"Lin Yu!" Suna couldn't help but exclaim, her voice filled with worry and fear. At that moment, her heart felt as if it were being torn apart, and fear overwhelmed her like a tide. But she knew now was not the time to be afraid. She had to cheer up and defeat the scorpion with her companions.
Leng Xuan took advantage of the scorpion's attack on Lin Yu and, with his agility, leaped onto its back like a cheetah. He gripped the protrusions on the scorpion's back tightly, and without hesitation, the Shadow Moon Blade in his hand stabbed the joint on the scorpion's back. Feeling the attack from behind, the scorpion twisted its body frantically, trying to throw Leng Xuan off. Its body shook violently, like an erupting volcano.
Lin Yu endured the excruciating pain in his arm, beads of sweat streaming down his forehead. He gritted his teeth, his gaze fixed firmly on the scorpion. He saw the perfect moment and struck at its stinger. He had only one thought in mind: he had to sever its stinger, or they would all be dead. Suna, disregarding the danger to herself, approached the scorpion, her eyes a look of determination as she continued to direct the Gu worm into its injured eye, attempting to further weaken its fighting power.
The scorpion struggled painfully under the attacks of the crowd. Its tail swung wildly, and venom sprayed everywhere like a fountain. The entire ruins were shrouded in this pungent smell, as if it had turned into a purgatory on earth. Leng Xuan held on to the scorpion's back tightly, and no matter how the scorpion shook, he did not let go. His eyes were full of determination, and he kept looking for opportunities to attack. Lin Yu seized the opportunity when the scorpion swung its tail, and with the last bit of strength in his body, he raised the sword high and chopped hard at the scorpion's stinger. With a crisp "click", the scorpion's stinger was successfully cut off, and the green venom gushed out like a flood that broke through the dam, splashing on the ground, making a "sizzling" sound, as if announcing the scorpion's anger and unwillingness.
