Chapter 31: The Sealed Light

Sealed Light

As Lin Yu and Suna struggled to hold on, the darkness around them seemed to grow thicker, almost suffocating them. The shadows surged like a surging tide, rushing towards them in wave after wave, each attack carrying a deadly threat.

Lin Yu's body was stretched to its limit. Every breath was accompanied by intense pain, and every movement felt like he was dragging a heavy burden. But his eyes remained firm, fixed on the approaching shadows, with only one thought in his mind: "I must hold on. I can't let everyone's efforts go to waste."

Suna's magical light grew fainter, her hands trembling, and the excessive consumption of magic power made her vision blacken. "I can't fall down. Lin Yu is still fighting hard in front of me. I must help him!" She gritted her teeth and forced her magic power once more. The faint light flickered in the darkness, as if it would be extinguished at any moment.

The man finally found the key to activating the seal. He shouted, "I know what to do. Everyone, hold on a little longer!" His voice was filled with excitement and nervousness, and sweat dripped from his forehead. His eyes were fixed on the runes on the stone platform, his mind racing, thinking about how to cast the spell.

Old Chen watched anxiously from the sidelines, his gun in hand never pausing for a moment. With each shot, he silently prayed in his heart: "I must succeed, I must make this all end." His fingers grew numb from constantly pulling the trigger, but there was no trace of retreat in his eyes.

When Lin Yu and Su Na heard the man's words, hope rekindled in their hearts.

Lin Yu used up his last bit of strength and repelled the shadow's attack again. His body was shaky, but his eyes remained firm. "If we just hold on a little longer, we will win," he said to himself.

Suna's magical light also grew fainter, but she still persisted. "I can't give up. I can't let everyone down." Her lips had been bitten and bled, and her face was as pale as paper.

The man began to cast a complex spell, following the guidance of the runes. His hands danced in the air, muttering something, and mysterious rays of light shot out from his hands and merged into the stone platform.

The stone platform gradually began to emit a light. It was faint at first, but as the man cast his spell, it grew stronger and stronger, illuminating the entire square. The light was like the first rays of dawn, piercing the darkness and bringing hope.

The shadows felt threatened and attacked more frantically, their howls echoing through the square, leaving one's hair standing on end.

"Almost there, almost there!" the man shouted, his voice hoarse from nervousness. His body trembled slightly, the casting of the spell putting him under tremendous pressure.

Lin Yu and Su Na tried their best to resist the attack of the shadow. Lin Yu's wound continued to bleed and his vision began to blur, but he still relied on his tenacious will to hold the line of defense.

Suna's magic power was almost exhausted, and she felt her consciousness gradually blurring. "I can't fall, I can't..." She kept repeating this sentence in her mind.

Suddenly, a powerful beam of light shot up from the stone platform, instantly enveloping all the dark shadows. The light was as dazzling as the sun, making it impossible to look directly at it.

The black shadows howled in pain. They struggled and twisted in the light, their bodies gradually becoming transparent and eventually disappearing without a trace.

Lin Yu and the others collapsed to the ground exhausted, gasping for breath. Their bodies were soaked with sweat, every muscle ached, and every bone felt like it was about to fall apart.

However, before they could recover from the shock, the surrounding scene began to change. The originally dilapidated square began to tremble, cracks appeared in the ground, and the walls began to collapse.

"What's going on?" Old Chen shouted in horror.

Lin Yu struggled to sit up and looked at the changes around him, his heart full of doubts.

Suna said weakly, "Could it be that the curse has not been completely lifted yet?"

The man frowned, thinking hard.

At this moment, a low roar came from underground. The sound seemed to come from an ancient giant beast, which made people shudder.

"Oh no, something even scarier might be about to happen!" said the man.

Lin Yu clenched the weapon in his hand and said, "No matter what it is, we have to face it."

The cracks in the ground grew larger and larger, and a powerful force surged from underground, pushing them to the brink of danger again...
