Chapter 311: Leshan's New Life, the Dragon's Shadow Appears

Leshan's new life, the shadow of the dragon appears

The thrilling journey of sealing the giant turtle in the Yellow River had just come to an end, and Lin Yu thought he would have a brief and peaceful rest to relax his exhausted body and mind. However, the gears of fate did not stop there, but instead turned again in an unexpected way.

One day, sunlight filtered through dappled leaves, spilling onto the courtyard of Lin Yu's residence. Lin Yu sat on a stone bench, reminiscing about his experiences by the Yellow River, a flood of emotion welling up in his heart. Just then, a mysterious old man quietly entered the courtyard. He was clad in a black robe, as dark as the night, seemingly swallowing up all light. His face was gaunt, with prominent cheekbones, and his skin, like dry bark, wrinkled with age. But his eyes were deep and piercing, like cold stars twinkling in the night sky, as if they could see through people's hearts.

The old man walked straight to Lin Yu with steady and slow steps. His eyes were fixed on Lin Yu, his expression solemn like the haze before a storm. "Lin Yu," the old man's voice was low and hoarse, as if it came from ancient times, "I have heard about your heroic deeds in sealing the giant turtle in the Yellow River, and I know that you have extraordinary courage and outstanding abilities. Now, a new crisis is quietly approaching. An extremely tricky thing has occurred beside the Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan. There is an iron chain with a diameter of ten centimeters, quietly hanging to the bottom of the river, and under the chain, an ancient evil dragon is sealed. Suppressed together with the dragon is a cold iron sword weighing a thousand pounds. Recently, for some reason, the seal seems to have loosened, and the evil dragon is showing signs of awakening. If the evil dragon awakens, it will inevitably cause a huge disaster, and the people will suffer. You must go to stop this catastrophe."

As Lin Yu listened to the old man's account, his heart suddenly tightened, as if gripped by an invisible hand. He knew full well that this was no ordinary task, perhaps far more arduous than sealing the giant turtle in the Yellow River. Yet, a sense of mission burned fiercely within him like a blazing fire. Without the slightest hesitation, he gazed at the old man with a resolute gaze, nodded firmly, and resolutely replied, "I will go." His mind involuntarily flashed back to the terrified faces of the people along the Yellow River, and their joy at having survived after successfully sealing the giant turtle. He knew that protecting world peace was his unshirkable responsibility, and this time, too, he could not retreat, even if the path ahead was filled with danger.

Lin Yu told Suna and Leng Xuan everything about the incident. After hearing it, there was no hesitation or retreat in the eyes of the two, and they expressed their willingness to go together without hesitation. Suna held Lin Yu's hand tightly, with a determined light in her eyes, and said firmly: "We have experienced so many life and death tests together, and we have supported each other every time. I can't be left out this time. No matter what dangers lie ahead, I will fight alongside you." Leng Xuan silently grasped the Shadow Moon Blade, and the blade flashed a cold light in the sunlight. His eyes were as sharp and firm as an eagle. He said briefly and forcefully: "One more person means more strength. I will go too. I want to see how powerful this evil dragon is."

Without delay, the three men quickly packed their bags. They took with them the weapons they had endured throughout their journey, as well as any other items they might need. They then immediately set out on the journey to Leshan, Sichuan. Along the way, they traveled day and night, each mindful of the unknown dangers and determined to complete their mission.

When they finally arrived in Leshan, they could see from afar the Leshan Giant Buddha, majestically standing by the river. Carved into the mountainside, it sat by the river, overlooking the vicissitudes of life. However, at that moment, Leshan was shrouded in a strange atmosphere. A chilling, eerie air permeated the air, a breath that seemed to penetrate clothing and reach the very bone marrow, sending shivers down the spine. The once bright sunlight seemed now obscured by an invisible haze, appearing singularly dim.

They cautiously made their way up the steep, winding mountain path toward the foot of the Buddha. The trees lining the path drooped their branches, trembling in the breeze as if sensing the ominous presence. The closer they got to the Buddha, the more eerie the feeling grew, as if countless eyes were watching their every move from the darkness. Lin Yu's heartbeat raced, its throbbing pounding in his chest, as if it threatened to burst. He instinctively tightened his grip on his sword, his knuckles turning slightly white from the strain, warily observing every subtle shift in his surroundings. Su Na followed closely behind Lin Yu, her palms wet with sweat, dripping down her fingers. But she took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. She knew she couldn't panic now; she had to face the impending challenge alongside her companions. Leng Xuan, as always, kept his eyes sharp as an eagle, constantly monitoring the surroundings, capturing every rustle of wind and the trembling of a leaf.

Finally, they arrived at the foot of the Giant Buddha. To one side of the Buddha, they saw the ten-centimeter-diameter iron chain. The chain was shiny black, like a sleeping black python, quietly hanging down to the bottom of the river. The chain was engraved with ancient and mysterious runes. Those runes twisted and meandered, like a mysterious language from ancient times, telling a history forgotten by time. Lin Yu walked forward, squatted down, and carefully examined the runes on the chain. Those runes seemed to possess an invisible power, causing his fingers to numb slightly at the touch. "This chain looks very old, and the runes also exude a mysterious power, so why is it loose?" Lin Yu frowned, his heart filled with confusion, as if he was trapped in a fog.

At that moment, a massive whirlpool suddenly erupted from the previously calm river. The waters roiled and churned, rumbling like the earth roaring in anger. At the center of the whirlpool, a dark shadow swam swiftly. The shadow was massive and twisted, as if something terrifying was about to burst from the water.
