Chapter 318: Horror in the Cellar, a Showdown of Mysterious Powers

Terror in the Cellar, a Showdown of Mysterious Powers

Lin Yu felt as if his body were being gripped by an invisible, giant hand from hell. The suction was so strong it seemed to tear every inch of his flesh, every bit of his soul, from his body. His internal organs felt like they were being churned together, and the pain was unbearable. "Everyone, don't panic. Find something to hold yourselves in place!" Lin Yu shouted at the top of his lungs. His voice was remarkably loud in the terrifying atmosphere of the cellar, but it was instantly swallowed by the demonic roar of the suction. As he shouted, he quickly swept the flashlight's beam around, its light dancing wildly in the darkness, trying to grasp any glimmer of hope that could provide support.

In this life-or-death moment, the team members unleashed a fierce instinct for survival, each following Lin Yu's instructions. Some clung tightly to the rotten stair railing, which had become their lifeline, their knuckles turning white from the strain, as if they were trying to fuse their bodies with it. Others pressed their feet against the rough wall, their shoes scraping against it with a grating sound, clinging to it like geckos, unwilling to be pulled into the endless darkness by the terrifying suction. Each face was filled with tension and fear, beads of sweat rolling down their foreheads, gleaming eerily under the pale light. Yet, their eyes revealed a resolute will to survive, a dedication and longing for life.

Lin Yu spotted a stout stone pillar not far away, standing alone in the darkness, a ray of hope, a ray of hope bestowed upon them by fate. Lin Yu gritted his teeth, his facial muscles contorted with exertion, and struggled to crawl towards the pillar. Every inch he moved forward seemed to drain his entire strength. The suction was like an insane and immensely powerful beast, gripping him tightly and dragging him relentlessly, seemingly dragging him into an abyss of no return.

Just as Lin Yu was about to grab the pillar, a team member suddenly cried out in despair, "Captain, I can't hold on any longer!" Lin Yu was terrified and turned to look. The team member's hands were slowly being pried apart by an invisible force, and they were slowly sliding down the handrail. A look of despair and fear filled his face, and his eyes seemed to speak of his unwillingness to accept the loss of his life. "Hold on! I'll help you!" Lin Yu was terrified. Without thinking, he threw his flashlight with all his strength at the team member. "Hold on!" With Lin Yu's cry, the flashlight arced through the air, flying towards the team member with the hope of life. The team member instinctively reached out to catch the flashlight, using the force to regain his balance, a flicker of relief in his eyes at having survived.

At that moment, the suction within the stone gate seemed to sense their struggles and intensified, threatening to engulf the entire cellar. The entire cellar began to shake violently, as if struck by a powerful earthquake. Dust from the cave ceiling filled the air like smoke, choking everyone and making it nearly impossible to breathe. Large rocks rained down, hitting the ground with a dull thud, like the tolling of death. Lin Yu knew that if this continued, everyone would be killed. He had to find a way to break the suction quickly. He clung to the stone pillar, his knuckles aching from the strain, his mind racing like a frantic machine. "These symbols, the stone gate, and the previous disappearances—there must be some connection. There must be a way to break this situation! There must be!" Lin Yu kept encouraging himself, trying to find a glimmer of inspiration to resolve the crisis amidst the chaos and fear.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Lin Yu. He recalled some of the research he'd done at Bureau 749 on deciphering mysterious symbols. Those obscure symbols and their methods flashed through his mind like a slideshow. He fought back the chaos and the fear within him, carefully observing the flickering symbols on the stone gate, trying to discern the underlying pattern. Amidst the dazzling array of symbols, which seemed to flash with a life of their own, he noticed a group with a relatively stable frequency. Their arrangement with the others seemed to form a specific pattern. "Could this be the key?" Lin Yu exclaimed, but he knew there was no room for error. Any misstep would mean the end of everyone involved.

Lin Yu shouted to the team members, "Listen, hold on a little longer! I might have found a solution!" A glimmer of hope ignited in the team members' despairing eyes, as if they had seen the dawn in the darkness. They gritted their teeth and persevered, exerting their last remaining strength to resist the terrifying suction. Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm his nervously pounding heart. Focusing all his attention, he began to follow the memorized method, imitating the order of the symbols in the air with his fingers. As he moved, an invisible and mysterious force seemed to surge in the air, resonating subtly with the symbols on the stone door. As if awakened from ancient times, the force permeated the small cellar, carrying the vicissitudes and mystery of time.

However, just as Lin Yu was about to complete the cracking action, a deafening roar suddenly came from the stone gate. The sound seemed to be a roar coming from the deepest part of hell, full of anger, unwillingness and endless evil. Then, the suction force suddenly increased several times, as if to crush everything around into powder. Lin Yu felt as if his body was about to be torn apart. The veins on his arms were bulging like earthworms. Every muscle was under unimaginable pressure, as if it would break in the next second. His body was shaking uncontrollably, his teeth were chattering, but he still clung to the stone pillar tightly, with only one belief in his heart: "I can't give up, I can't let the team members die here!"
