Chapter 345: Breaking the Ice, Obtaining the Key, and Encountering Another Mystery

Break the ice to get the key, and then encounter the mystery again

Lin Yu and his team attacked the joints of the ice bear's armor with all their might. Every collision between weapons and armor sent glittering ice shards flying, accompanied by the ice bear's frantic roar that echoed throughout the ice cellar. The roar was like rolling thunder, reverberating back and forth within the ice cellar, jarring everyone's eardrums, as if the sound waves would rip them apart at any moment. Lin Yu's arms ached from the prolonged and intense assault, but he gritted his teeth, his mind fixed on a single thought: to break the ice armor.

As the attack continued, the cracks in the ice bear's armor grew wider and wider, like a spiderweb, thanks to the tireless efforts of the group. Finally, with a crisp "crack," an entire piece of armor detached from the joint of one of its arms, slamming heavily onto the ice with a dull thud. Beneath the armor, the ice bear's injured flesh was exposed, and the crimson blood spread across the pristine white ice, appearing particularly glaring.

"Keep attacking! Don't give it a chance to breathe!" Lin Yu shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice hoarse with excitement and exhaustion, but the joy of near victory was clear. The team members' morale instantly soared upon hearing the command, as if a powerful new surge of strength had been injected. Their eyes burned with fighting spirit, and they attacked the ice bear's other joints with even greater ferocity. Each attack was laced with a desperate determination, and the wind whistled as their weapons swung.

The ice bear roared in agony, its voice filled with rage and resentment. It frantically waved its remaining ice-armored arms, trying to prevent the team from approaching. Those massive arms, like thick icicles, swept towards the team with a sharp whistling sound. But the ice bear was already at the end of its strength. Under the coordinated attack, its resistance seemed increasingly powerless. Under wave after wave of attacks, the ice bear's ice armor peeled off piece by piece, scattering across the ice like broken glass. Finally, the ice armor shattered completely, transforming into a field of glittering ice fragments.

Without the protection of its ice armor, the ice bear's strength was greatly reduced. The once majestic creature now looked utterly miserable. But it still fought stubbornly, with a fierce glint in its eyes. Lin Yu saw the right moment, took a deep breath, tensed his leg muscles, and rushed forward like a bolt of black lightning. He gripped the weapon tightly with both hands and, with all his strength, stabbed the ice bear's neck fiercely. The sharp weapon instantly penetrated the ice bear's flesh, and a stream of warm blood gushed out, splashing on Lin Yu's body. The ice bear let out a faint roar, its voice filled with endless despair. Its huge body shook a few times, and it slowly fell to the ground, splashing a cloud of ice chips. After its limbs twitched a few times, it stopped moving. The huge ice cellar instantly became quiet, leaving only the rapid breathing of the crowd.

Lin Yu and his teammates breathed a sigh of relief, their tense nerves finally relaxed, and they collapsed onto the ice. Their chests heaved violently, and they gasped for air. Sweat soaked their clothes, and quickly froze on the cold ice. But they didn't rest for long. Their instinct for survival and their dedication to their mission forced them to overcome their fatigue. They slowly stood up and walked towards the ice gate.

The fog within the ice gate was still thick as a substance, like a thick white curtain, emitting bursts of biting cold. Lin Yu couldn't help but feel uneasy. What was hidden behind the unknown ice gate? Was it a greater danger, or the key to solving the mystery? He didn't know, but to find the key to strengthen the seal and save the world from disaster, they had no choice but to move forward.

Stepping through the ice door, they discovered a vast ice cave. The walls were studded with ice of various strange shapes, some like sharp swords, others like ferocious ghost faces. Illuminated by the cold light, they shimmered with a mysterious and eerie luster, as if countless pairs of eyes were watching them from the darkness. In the center of the ice cave, an ice platform rested on top of a key emitting a blue glow. The soft blue light was particularly striking in the icy surroundings. It was the first key they had painstakingly sought.

"Finally found it!" one team member exclaimed excitedly, his voice trembling with a mixture of excitement and nervousness as it echoed through the ice cave. Just as the team members were about to retrieve the key, the ground within the cave suddenly began to shake violently, as if the entire world had gone mad. Ice walls quickly rose up around the ice platform, like an impenetrable fortress, completely enclosing it. At the same time, strange symbols appeared on the walls of the ice cave, glowing with an eerie red light, like a curse from hell, or a warning against any rash action.

Lin Yu's heart suddenly tightened, a sense of foreboding washing over him. He said, "Be careful, this could be another trap." His eyes instantly sharpened like an eagle's, scrutinizing the symbols, trying to find a way to break them. The team members immediately looked around warily, weapons tightly gripped, ready to respond to any emergency. Their eyes were filled with vigilance and uneasiness. Faced with this unknown danger, no one dared to slack off.

Lin Yu noticed a resemblance between these symbols and the runes he'd previously seen in the crystal disc's information stream. Those complex and mysterious runes flashed through his mind. He struggled to recall the contents of the information stream, attempting to decipher the meaning of these symbols. It was like a battle against time and wits, where every second counted. After racking his brains, he hypothesized that these symbols might be a combination lock, requiring a specific sequence to trigger in order to dismantle the ice wall.

"Listen everyone! These symbols are the key to unlocking the ice wall. We need to touch them in a specific order. I'll be in charge, and everyone must make no mistakes," Lin Yu said, his voice firm and powerful, trying to instill confidence in the team members. The team members nodded in understanding, their eyes revealing their trust in Lin Yu. In this perilous environment, team trust and collaboration became their only recourse.

Based on his own assumptions, Lin Yu methodically instructed his team members to touch the symbols. His voice echoed through the ice cave, each command clear and decisive. As the team members touched the symbols in sequence, the ice wall began to slowly descend. As they watched the ice wall gradually descend, a glimmer of hope crossed their faces. However, just as the ice wall was halfway down, it suddenly and without warning stopped, then began to slowly ascend again.

"Oh no, the order might be wrong!" Lin Yu said anxiously, beads of sweat instantly appearing on his forehead, gleaming in the cold light. He quickly rethought the order of the symbols, his brain racing, trying to find the correct clue among his chaotic thoughts. In this breathtakingly tense moment, every second seemed to be stretched infinitely. Could he find the correct order again and successfully obtain the key? And what new crisis would they face after obtaining the key? Everything was unknown. Lin Yu and his team were once again in trouble. The thread of fate hung by a thread, and life and death depended on this one move.
