Break through the trap, new path shadow
Lin Yu was terrified, his mind akin to an overloaded precision instrument, frantically searching the depths of his memory for every shred of information about the runes. The ice wall slowly rose, its dull grinding sound like the approaching footsteps of death. Every inch of movement was like the toll of a countdown, hammering at everyone's heart, their hearts instantly rising to their throats. The team members stared at Lin Yu nervously, their eyes a mixture of anxiety and unwavering trust in him, as if he were the only ray of hope in this dark predicament.
"Captain, what should we do?" a team member finally couldn't help but ask with a slightly trembling voice. The voice was particularly abrupt in the silence of the ice cave, filled with fear and helplessness. Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm his turbulent heart. He tried to speak in a steady tone, "Don't worry, everyone. I'll think about it." His gaze was like a sharp scalpel, moving rapidly over the symbols that flashed with an eerie red light, trying to dig out new clues from their seemingly chaotic arrangement and strange shapes, and solve this life-or-death puzzle.
Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Lin Yu's mind, like a flash of lightning piercing the night sky. He suddenly realized that when he deciphered the symbol sequence, he had overlooked a tiny pattern on the ice cave wall. Hidden in the shadows, it was easy to miss without careful observation. It seemed ordinary, yet it was inextricably linked to a subtle clue in the crystal disc's information flow. His heartbeat suddenly accelerated, as if he had grasped a lifeline, and he sprinted towards the wall where the pattern was located.
Lin Yu ran to the pattern and crouched down, his eyes almost pressed against the wall as he examined it carefully. His gaze betrayed an almost obsessive focus, his mind racing as he silently calculated the new sequence of symbol triggers. At that moment, the entire world seemed to have fallen silent, and all he could hear was the pounding of his own heartbeat and the clashing of his thoughts.
"I think I know what to do!" Lin Yu turned around abruptly and shouted to the team members, a flame of hope rekindled in his eyes, as if the flame could dispel the heavy fog before their eyes. The team members' faces, which had been originally desperate, instantly glowed with brilliance, and they immediately gathered around like a tide, eager to listen to him describe the new sequence. Lin Yu gestured quickly while explaining in detail: "We have to touch the symbol in this corner first. Note, it is the slightly concave one. Then the triangular one on the opposite wall. The direction of its top corner is very critical. Then..." The team members listened attentively, everyone pricked up their ears, afraid of missing any details, and kept every step firmly in mind.
Following the new order, the team members began touching the symbols again. Lin Yu stared at the ice wall nervously, his hands unconsciously clenching into fists, his palms wet with sweat. His gaze seemed to penetrate the ice wall, silently praying for success this time. When the last symbol was touched, time seemed to freeze at that moment. The ice wall paused for a moment, as if hesitating whether to let them pass, and then, under the tense gaze of the crowd, it slowly descended. As the ice wall gradually lowered, a glimmer of hope gradually appeared on the team members' faces. That glimmer was like the sun breaking through the darkness, warm and uplifting.
"Success!" one team member couldn't help but cheer, his voice filled with joy and excitement. But Lin Yu didn't dare to relax. His eyes remained alert, and he said seriously, "Don't get too excited yet. Let's get the key first." Only then did everyone come to their senses and carefully walked towards the ice platform, taking every step with extreme caution, as if countless pairs of eyes were hidden around them, spying on their every move.
Lin Yu slowly reached out and grasped the glowing blue key. The moment he grasped the key, a bone-chilling force raced down his arm, as if countless tiny ice needles were piercing his body. His body stiffened slightly, but he gritted his teeth and endured the excruciating pain. A closer look at the key revealed a delicate and intricate pattern carved into it. The patterns twisted and intertwined, seemingly telling an ancient and mysterious story, or perhaps concealing a code to unlock an unknown world.
"This key should be what we're looking for. I hope it can help us strengthen the seal," Lin Yu said, his voice a hint of fatigue, but more of a firm belief. However, before they could step off the ice platform and leave the ice cave, something unexpected happened. The entrance to the ice cave was suddenly blocked by a massive ice wall without warning. The ice wall towered into the sky, like a cold and ruthless executioner, cutting off their escape route. Then, the ground of the ice cave began to tremble violently, and cracks spread rapidly like spider webs, with black smoke continuously emitting from the cracks. The smoke spread rapidly like the tentacles of a demon, carrying a pungent and rancid odor that made people want to vomit.
"Oh no! Trouble again!" Lin Yu's face suddenly darkened as he shouted. Upon hearing the shout, the team members quickly stood back to back, forming a tight defensive circle. Their eyes were filled with alarm and fear as they nervously stared around, trying to detect any sign of danger in the dense smoke. Dark figures loomed faintly within the haze. Their outlines resembled human forms, yet they were distorted and warped, like puppets whose souls had been twisted by an evil force. It was a chilling sight.
"What are these things?" a team member asked in horror, his voice shrill and piercing with fear. Lin Yu, clutching his keys and weapons tightly, said with a resolute gaze, "Whatever they are, we cannot retreat. Everyone, be careful and pay attention to their movements." Despite his resolute voice, he couldn't help but feel a little worried. He wondered where these mysterious shadows came from and what dangers they might pose.
