Lin Yu realized that they needed to find more clues about this wood carving and the Japanese ghost. So he and his team members began to ask door to door in the village whether anyone had seen similar wood carvings or knew more information about the Japanese ghost. In a fisherman's house, an old fisherman recalled an old event: "More than ten years ago, a strange Japanese man came to the village. He was wearing a black robe. The robe was wide and large, covering his entire body. He was always wandering on the beach, muttering to himself, and his words were incomprehensible. Since then, some strange phenomena have occasionally appeared in the village, but none of them were as serious as this time. No one paid much attention to it at the time, but now I think that maybe these strange things are related to him."
Lin Yu's heart skipped a beat. This Japanese man might be the key to solving the mystery. He pressed on, "Do you remember what this Japanese man looked like? Where did he go?" The old fisherman scratched his head, trying to recall, the wrinkles on his face deepening with thought. "He was tall and thin, with a long scar running from the corner of his eye to his chin. It looked scary. As for where he went, I don't know. I just remember that one day, he suddenly disappeared and never showed up in the village again."
After leaving the old fisherman's house, Lin Yu and his team began analyzing the clues. Lin Yu said, "From the current situation, the appearance of this Japanese man seems to be closely linked to the appearance of the Japanese demons. We need to find this Japanese man as soon as possible. Perhaps we can solve the mystery of the Japanese demons. His appearance back then and his strange behavior must have had ulterior motives." Old Chen nodded in agreement. "I think we can start by investigating the coastal ports and the recent records of Japanese ships to see if we can find any clues. Perhaps he left by ship, and the port may have relevant records."
So, Lin Yu and his group said goodbye to the fishing village and headed for a nearby port city. At the port administration, they presented their relevant documents and requested to see the recent records of Japanese ships. The staff took them to a document room filled with various documents and record books. Lin Yu and others began to carefully check, flipping through the densely packed records page by page. After a careful review, they found a suspicious Japanese ship. This ship had frequently entered and exited the port a few months ago, and each stay was very short, as if it was deliberately avoiding people's sight. Each time it docked, it chose to do so late at night and leave very early, as if it was conducting some kind of shady transaction.
Lin Yu and his team immediately launched an investigation into the ship. Following a clue, they found an abandoned warehouse. Tucked away in a remote corner of the harbor, it was overgrown with weeds, seemingly forgotten by the world. A gloomy atmosphere hung over the warehouse. The door was tightly shut, the windows were covered in dust, and the glass was shattered, as if forcibly broken by some force. Lin Yu cautiously pushed open the door, and the hinges creaked, a sound that was particularly piercing in the silence, as if shattering the stillness while awakening something hidden in the darkness.
The warehouse was dark and damp, filled with a pungent smell, like a mixture of rotten wood and sea water. They turned on the flashlight, and the light flickered in the darkness, illuminating only a small area. Under the illumination of the flashlight, they could see that the warehouse was filled with all kinds of debris, dilapidated wooden boxes, rusty chains, and some damaged fishing gear. Suddenly, Xiao Zhao found some footprints, exactly the same as the footprints found on the beach. The footprints were particularly clear in the dust, as if they had just been left. Lin Yu followed the direction of the footprints, and in the corner of the warehouse, they found a secret door. The secret door was closed, and the door was engraved with strange runes. Those runes exuded a mysterious aura, as if warning people not to approach.
Professor Li looked at the runes and said solemnly, "These runes are used to seal some kind of evil force, but it looks like the seal has loosened somewhat. Judging from the wear and tear on the runes and the aura they emit, the seal's power is gradually weakening. If we open it rashly, we might release something dangerous." Lin Yu took a deep breath and said, "Whatever is inside, we must find out. Everyone, be careful and be prepared for emergencies. We are members of Bureau 749 and cannot retreat." He slowly pushed open the secret door, revealing a narrow passageway filled with a pungent, rancid odor that made people want to vomit. A faint light flickered at the end of the passage, flickering on and off, as if beckoning them, yet also as if hiding endless dangers.
They moved cautiously along the passage, which was filled with a mysterious atmosphere, as if every inch of air was filled with the unknown. Occasionally, strange symbols and patterns appeared on the walls. These patterns resembled some kind of ancient text, or strange totems, appearing particularly mysterious in the light of the flashlight. As they went deeper, the stench of decay grew stronger, making it almost impossible to breathe.
When they reached the end of the passage, the sight before them astonished them. A massive formation appeared before them, composed of a variety of strange lines and runes, emitting a faint blue light. In the center of the formation stood a black box, also engraved with runes. These runes glowed with an eerie red light, intertwining with the blue light of the formation, creating a strange and dangerous atmosphere. Lin Yu approached the box and was about to open it when the air suddenly became bone-chillingly cold, as if the temperature had instantly dropped to freezing. A chilling wind blew, extinguishing their flashlights, and darkness instantly enveloped everything.
