749th Bureau: Overcoming the Tribulation
Shortly after returning from their intense mission to resolve the drought, Lin Yu and his team returned to the 749th Bureau's daily work of monitoring, researching, and preventing various supernatural phenomena. However, this seemingly peaceful daily routine, like the calm before the storm, conceals unknown waves.
One day, the sophisticated monitoring system of Bureau 749 suddenly issued a sharp alarm, and the warning lights flashed wildly. The data showed that an extremely powerful and strange energy fluctuation was surging wildly from a remote mountain. As soon as Lin Yu stepped into the data analysis room, he was attracted by the jumping abnormal data. His brows knitted tightly, and a strong premonition told him that this incident was not simple. Without the slightest hesitation, he quickly summoned Lao Chen, Professor Li and Xiao Zhao through the internal communication channel in an unquestionable tone: "Emergency assembly, there is a serious situation! Everyone quickly gathered their gear, boarded the bureau's custom-built off-road vehicle, and sped toward the source of the signal. As the vehicle neared the deep mountain, the once clear sky gradually became obscured by dark clouds. The myriad colors intertwined, painting the sky a dreamlike yet eerie atmosphere. An oppressive atmosphere permeated the forest, as if invisible eyes watched them from the darkness. The usually melodious chirping of birds had vanished, replaced by a dead silence. The occasional rustling of the wind echoed through the valley, a shrill sound like the howling of ghosts and wolves, as if telling an untold tragedy that cast a shadow over everyone's hearts.
Lin Yu looked out the car window at the strange clouds in the sky, thinking to himself, "This energy fluctuation is so strong and strange, it is definitely not an ordinary supernatural phenomenon. Could it be true, as some ancient legends say, that a master is undergoing a tribulation here? But if it is true, why does this scene exude such a strong evil aura? There must be huge dangers and unknown secrets hidden in it. I'm afraid this mission will be more difficult than I imagined."
Old Chen also frowned, breaking the silence in the car. "This atmosphere is truly off. The vehicle trudged to the foot of the deep mountains, where everyone disembarked. Cautiously, they made their way along a narrow, winding mountain road toward the source of the energy fluctuations. The surrounding trees grew densely, their thick branches intertwining and blocking out the sun, making the forest dim and dark, as if night had fallen prematurely. Occasionally, a few rays of sunlight struggled to penetrate the leaves, casting dappled light and shadows that only added to the eerie feeling. Fallen leaves piled high beneath their feet, creating a rustling sound with each step, a piercing sound in the silent forest, as if announcing their arrival to an unknown entity lurking in the darkness.
Suddenly, a vast valley appeared ahead. A strange, hazy light emanated from the valley, fading in intensity and rhythmically like breathing. Energy fluctuations surged from there like a tidal wave. Lin Yu and the others exchanged glances, a flicker of vigilance and determination in their eyes. They tightened their grip on their weapons and magical instruments and slowly approached the valley.
The moment they stepped into the valley, a powerful, scorching airstream lashed them with the pungent smell of sulfur, as if the gates of hell had been opened. In the center of the valley, a figure hovered in the air, surrounded by a multicolored light. However, this radiance was shrouded in wisps of black mist, like venomous black snakes, darting freely through the light, creating a profoundly eerie effect. The figure's face was as cold as ice, his eyes gleaming with determination and resolve, yet also hinting at a hint of pain and struggle. Thunder and lightning clashed around him, and massive arcs of electricity, like serpentine dragons, flickered and danced wildly across his body, emitting a deafening roar as if threatening to devour him utterly.
Lin Yu was suddenly startled and thought to himself: "Could this be the person who is undergoing the tribulation? But why is the scene of this tribulation so weird? The evil energy emanating from the black mist makes people shudder. What exactly happened?" Before he could ask, the person floating in the air suddenly shouted loudly, and the voice echoed in the valley: "Fellow Daoist He Fang is here, please don't interfere with my tribulation! This is the critical moment for my breakthrough. If I fail, I will be doomed!"
