Chapter 376: "Resolving the Crisis of the 749th Bureau Device"

749 Bureau's Device Crisis Resolution

Lin Yu and his companions trudged forward through the narrow passageway leading into the interior of the device. The passage twisted and turned like the deep maw of a giant beast, seemingly endless. The walls gleamed with a cold metallic sheen, and every reflection of light seemed to conceal an ancient and mysterious message, as if telling the intruders of the long ages and countless unknown secrets it held. As they advanced deeper, a powerful and chaotic energy overwhelmed them like a surging undercurrent. This energy, carrying an invisible sense of oppression, constantly assaulted their resolve, seemingly eroding their courage and determination bit by bit.

Lin Yu walked at the front of the team, secretly worried. The intensity of this energy far exceeded his imagination. Every step required tremendous effort, as if his feet were bound by heavy shackles. But he knew that he could not retreat at this moment. The fate of the two worlds was like a heavy burden, and it all depended on them. He turned to look at the team members and their underground human companions, his eyes firm and full of power, and shouted loudly: "Everyone, stay calm and focus. We will definitely find the control center and resolve this crisis! We shoulder the hope of two worlds and must not give up!"

Xiao Zhao gripped his weapon tightly. Despite the cramped space in the tunnel, making it difficult to wield it, his eyes gleamed with determination, a burning flame, a constant alert for potential danger. Without hesitation, he shouted, "Captain, don't worry! I've already given my life to this mission. I'm with you! No matter what, I won't retreat!" Old Chen struggled forward amidst the surge of energy, diligently adjusting his equipment, which was experiencing erratic readings, trying to extract even a shred of useful information from the chaotic energy field. Frowning, he shouted, "This energy interference is severe. The equipment readings are jumping wildly. I'll do my best to provide accurate information. Everyone, be careful!" Professor Li, in close communication with the underground human technicians, sought to draw upon their millennia-old knowledge to determine the key to tackling this complex crisis. His brow furrowed, his expression a frost-like solemnity. "We must find the source of the energy disturbance, or all our efforts will be in vain, and both worlds will be doomed."

Finally, after an arduous journey, they arrived at a vast circular space. Its grandeur exceeded everyone's imagination, resembling a mysterious underground palace. In the center, a sphere radiating an intense light hovered. Countless gleaming energy tubes, like a vast spiderweb, connected to the sphere and extended in all directions, as if drawing or transmitting some powerful force. Various runes and numbers flickered continuously on the sphere's surface, shifting in a complex and chaotic pattern, as if conveying some mysterious message from an ancient time, or perhaps a desperate cry for help.

Lin Yu pointed at the sphere and shouted, "This should be the control center! Everyone, approach carefully and see if you can find a way to stabilize it. But be extremely cautious, every energy fluctuation here could be fatal." Everyone slowly approached the sphere. As the distance closed, the already powerful energy surged even more violently, like an enraged beast, seeking to devour them mercilessly. Suddenly, a group of mechanical guards emerged from the sphere. These guards resembled spiders, with eight sturdy metal legs. They made a creepy "crackling" sound as they crawled across the ground. They flashed with a cold blue light, and lasers shot out from their eyes, like sharp blades, rapidly striking at the group.

Xiao Zhao reacted quickly, nimbly dodging the laser beams that grazed his clothes like the Grim Reaper's scythe as he charged at the mechanical guards. Their weapons collided with the guards' metal shells with a resounding clang, sparks flying everywhere, dazzling in the dim space. Lao Chen, using his device, attempted to disrupt the guards' control systems. He stared intently at the screen, muttering to himself, "These guards seem to be very complex, with layers of code. I need some time to crack them! Everyone, buy me some time!" Lin Yu and the other team members joined the fray, engaging the guards in a desperate struggle. Lin Yu, seizing the moment between laser beams, dodged like a flash of black lightning. He then lunged at one of the guards, his special weapon infused with all his strength and a burning desire for success, stabbing it in the heart. The mechanical guards trembled violently under attack, their previously orderly laser fire becoming chaotic and scattering in all directions. The underground humans, not to be outdone, relied on their superior agility to weave between the lasers and the mechanical guards like ghosts, dodging their attacks while simultaneously attacking their joints with specially crafted tools.

Under the combined attack of everyone, the mechanical guards fell one after another. However, just as they were about to eliminate all the mechanical guards, the sphere suddenly emitted a strong light, so bright that it was impossible to look directly at it, as if a small sun had suddenly exploded in this underground space. A huge energy body appeared in the light. The energy body took on a humanoid shape, emitting a dazzling light all over, like a giant composed of pure energy. Its voice reverberated in this enclosed space like a bell, and each syllable carried a powerful impact, making everyone's eardrums hurt: "You should not have entered here. Your actions will upset the balance of the world and bring irreparable destruction!"
