His eyes were wide and bloodshot, and he let out an inarticulate roar, punctuated by sharp cries, as if locked in a desperate struggle with an invisible demon. Nurses tried to approach him to comfort him, but he was repeatedly pushed away by his agitated nature. His strength was so immense that even several young, robust nurses struggled to subdue him.
Lin Yu's brow furrowed, his heart filled with confusion and worry. "The symptoms of these patients are so consistent. What terrifying force can instantly transform people into this state? Could it be related to that mysterious cell phone video, as the rumors say?" Old Chen followed behind him, shaking his head solemnly. "This matter is utterly bizarre. The melody was so bizarre it made one's scalp tingle, and every note felt like a sharp needle, mercilessly piercing one's eardrums, sending goosebumps all over one's body and making the hair stand on end.
The screen gradually brightened, and the first thing that came into view was a blurry darkness, as if tucked into the deepest nightmare. As the image gradually cleared, faces distorted beyond all recognition began to emerge. These faces seemed to be wreaked by an evil force, their features severely deformed. Their eyes were bulging, nearly bursting from their sockets, their eyeballs bulging and bloodshot. Their mouths were gaping, as if to devour everything around them. Deep in their throats, countless souls seemed to struggle and scream, yet no sound emanated. Only tongues could be seen twitching frantically within their dark, hollow mouths.
A faint, low murmur echoed in the background, like an evil spell emanating from the depths of hell. The voice seemed to possess a kind of enchantment, penetrating the ears and tracing its way through the nerves, gradually eroding consciousness. Lin Yu felt his thoughts begin to blur, as if he were trapped in an endless vortex of darkness. His body grew incredibly heavy, and his consciousness was gradually swallowed by the darkness. Distorted human faces flashed before his eyes, seemingly closing in on him, attempting to drag him into an abyss of no return.
Just as Lin Yu's consciousness was about to be completely overwhelmed, Lao Chen, quick-witted and quick-handed, slapped him hard and shouted, "Lin Yu, don't be affected! Wake up!" The slap was like a thunderclap, instantly pulling Lin Yu back to reality from the brink of darkness. Lin Yu shuddered and suddenly woke up.
