Chapter 393: The Strange Situation at Ailao Mountain (Part 1)

Professor Li took out a small optical detector and scanned the light and shadows. The detector emitted a faint light, which was particularly dazzling in the fog. He frowned, his eyes fixed on the constantly jumping data on the detector, and muttered to himself: "From the data, the energy fluctuations of these light and shadows are very abnormal, and do not seem to be caused by natural phenomena. It may be a manifestation of some supernatural power. Perhaps there is a special energy field here that causes the light to distort, or perhaps some unknown creature releases energy. But no matter what, we must be careful." There was a hint of worry in Professor Li's voice. He knew that when faced with unknown supernatural phenomena, any negligence could have fatal consequences.

Lao Chen said from the side: "No matter what it is, we have to be careful. This Ailao Mountain is full of evil spirits. I felt something was wrong from the beginning. These lights and shadows may be luring us into the trap, and we can't be fooled." Lao Chen held the weapon tightly in his hand, his eyes staring vigilantly at the surrounding fog, ready to deal with possible dangers at any time.

At this moment, there was a rustling sound from the front, as if something was moving quickly in the grass. The sound was getting closer and closer, and the speed was extremely fast. Everyone stopped immediately and stared nervously at the direction where the sound came from. The heart was beating violently in the chest, and the breathing became rapid. Xiao Zhao's palms were full of sweat, and he could hardly hold the tools in his hands. Lao Chen's eyes were full of vigilance, ready to attack at any time. Lin Yu signaled everyone to keep quiet, his eyes fixed on the grass, his muscles tensed, waiting for the unknown to appear.

A massive black shadow burst from the brush, like a flash of black lightning, leaping toward them... Its speed was incredible, and it was right in front of them in an instant. In the dim moonlight, they saw a massive beast, covered in long, black fur that danced wildly in the wind. Its eyes, the size of lanterns, gleamed with a bloodthirsty red light, like two burning flames. Its mouth was filled with sharp fangs, each as long as a dagger. Saliva dripped from its fangs, corroding small pits in the ground and emitting a pungent, rancid odor.

"What kind of monster is this?" Xiao Zhao shouted in terror, his voice echoing in the silent forest, filled with fear and despair. His legs went weak and he could barely stand.

Lin Yu stared at the monster and quickly thought of a countermeasure in his mind: "No matter what it is, we can't panic. Lao Chen, continue to use talismans to interfere with it; Xiao Zhao, find an opportunity to attack its weaknesses; Professor Li, see if you can find its energy source and find a way to weaken it. Everyone listen to my command and must stay calm. We will definitely defeat it." Lin Yu knew very well that at this critical moment, as the captain, he must remain calm and give his teammates confidence and direction.

Upon hearing this, Old Chen quickly pulled several talismans from his pocket. His hands trembled slightly, but years of experience quickly calmed him. He quickly formed hand seals and chanted something, the runes on the talismans shimmering. "Watch me!" Old Chen fiercely threw the talismans at the shadow. The talismans ignited in the air, transforming into several golden rays of light that shot towards the monster like sharp swords, attempting to stop the shadow's attack.

The monster seemed to sense the threat, and it let out a deafening roar that could shatter a soul. It swung its thick claws and struck the talisman. The claws collided with the talisman, making a sizzling sound. The golden light flickered under the slapping claws, as if it would be extinguished at any moment. The monster's power was immense, and the talisman's light gradually dimmed under its attack, but it still managed to temporarily block the monster's attack.

Xiao Zhao seized the opportunity and suddenly jumped out from behind the big tree. He jumped high and stabbed the monster's eyes with the weapon in his hand. His heart was filled with fear, but the desire to survive and the responsibility to his teammates gave him courage. The monster sensed the danger and tilted its head. Xiao Zhao's weapon pierced its shoulder. There was a "clang" sound, as if it was stabbed on steel, leaving only a shallow mark. The monster felt pain and let out an angry roar. It swung its claws towards Xiao Zhao. Xiao Zhao quickly let go of the weapon and rolled in the air, narrowly avoiding the fatal blow. The claws brushed past his body, bringing up a gust of wind. Xiao Zhao felt a sharp pain and a long wound was cut on his arm, and blood gushed out.

Professor Li stared at the detector, his eyes wide open, trying to find the monster's weakness from the data. Suddenly, his eyes lit up: "Lin Yu, this monster's energy seems to be concentrated in its abdomen. That might be its weak point!" Professor Li shouted loudly, his voice filled with excitement and eagerness.

Lin Yu's heart raced, and he shouted, "Old Chen, distract its attention. I'll attack its abdomen!" Old Chen immediately increased his talisman output. He pulled out several more and threw them at the monster. The talismans burned in the air, transforming into a golden barrier that enveloped the monster. The monster roared and struggled frantically within the barrier, scratching at it with its claws, making a harsh sizzling sound. The barrier began to flicker under its attack, threatening to break at any moment.

Lin Yu seized the opportunity and rushed towards the monster like a black shadow. His nimble form constantly moved around the monster, searching for the perfect moment to strike. Finally, he seized the moment when the monster's attention was distracted by the talisman, and with a single swift step, he lunged forward, stabbing the monster's abdomen with his long knife. The long knife sank into the monster's abdomen, and black blood gushed out like a fountain, splashing Lin Yu all over. The monster let out a shrill scream, its body trembling violently. Its eyes grew even blood red, and an even stronger evil aura emanated from it.
