Traveling Through the Ancient Mirror (Part 2)
At that crucial moment, Lin Yu's heart burned with anxiety, his eyes flashing with determination. Without a moment's hesitation, he rushed towards Xiao Zhao like a bolt of black lightning. With a whistling sound, the long sword in his hand slashed fiercely at the woman's arm. With a dull, chilling sound, like a blade slicing through rotting flesh, the woman's arm was struck. Black blood spurted out like a fountain, emitting a sickening, pungent stench that instantly filled the entire room. The stench was tangible, nearly suffocating everyone, like the decaying scent of hell, betraying the woman's evil nature.
The woman screamed in pain, a shrill, agonizing cry that sounded like the howl of a ghost streaking across the night sky, sharp and long, as if to shatter everyone's soul. She loosened her grip on Xiao Zhao's hand, and Xiao Zhao's face turned pale as paper, his eyes filled with fear and lingering fear. His body trembled uncontrollably, and he retreated behind Lin Yu like a frightened deer, gasping for breath as if he had just walked through the gates of hell: "It was...it was too dangerous, I almost..." Xiao Zhao's voice trembled violently, and his words were intermittent, obviously still immersed in the extreme fear just now.
Lin Yu stared intently at the injured woman. Her injured arm healed with terrifying speed, the shattered muscle and bone reassembled as if by invisible hands. The black wound gradually faded, as if the attack had been an illusion. The woman glared at the crowd fiercely, her hollow eyes burning with hatred. A deep, angry roar emanated from her throat, like a wounded beast preparing to launch a fierce counterattack. She lunged at the crowd again, and wherever her footsteps touched, the ground seemed to be corroded by a sinister force, and tiny cracks appeared.
Old Chen, fully aware of the dire situation, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. He quickly pulled out a handful of specially crafted talismans. These talismans, painstakingly crafted over years of research, were specially crafted to combat powerful evil spirits. The runes inscribed on them shimmered with a mysterious light. He waved the talismans forcefully in the air, muttering a rapid, resolute voice: "Heaven and Earth, use the law to exorcise the demon. As the command goes!" The talismans instantly burst into flames, transforming into a dazzling golden curtain of light that stood between the woman and the others like an impenetrable wall. However, the woman's impact was so powerful that the curtain trembled violently under her impact, its light flickering and threatening to shatter at any moment. "Lin Yu, this isn't a long-term solution! This female ghost is too powerful! We must find a way to break it!" Old Chen shouted at the top of his lungs, straining to maintain the curtain, his voice tinged with anxiety and helplessness.
Lin Yu and Professor Li didn't dare waste a moment's time, turning back to focus on the ancient mirror. Lin Yu's eyes were fixed on the mysterious symbols, a look of intense concentration and persistence. His mind, like a whirlwind machine, continuously recalled the records of the mysterious formation from various ancient texts. He was filled with anxiety and tension, knowing that time was running short and every second depended on their survival. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, as if he had seen a glimmer of light in the darkness. Pointing to a pattern of symbols on the ancient mirror, he said, "Professor Li, look here. The arrangement of these symbols is somewhat similar to the ancient 'Soul Sealing Formation,' but not identical. Perhaps we need to trigger these symbols in a specific order to unlock the power of the ancient mirror." Lin Yu's voice was filled with excitement and anticipation, hoping that this might be the key to resolving the crisis.
Professor Li looked in the direction Lin Yu pointed, a glimmer of hope flashing in his eyes, but then it was replaced by worry. He quickly took out his computer and input the symbols from the ancient mirror. Using the computer's data analysis program, he tried to find the correct triggering sequence for the symbols. The data on the computer screen jumped rapidly. Professor Li's eyes were fixed on the screen, his hands constantly operating the keyboard, and the wrinkles on his forehead deepened with tension. "Yes, it's very likely. But this order..." Professor Li muttered to himself as he accelerated his operations. He knew that they had little time left and had to find the answer quickly.
At this moment, the woman outside the light curtain was like a mad beast, constantly pounding against it, emitting angry roars. Each impact caused the light curtain to shake violently, and the light flickered even more violently, as if it would go out at any moment. Old Chen gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead, and his hands trembled slightly from the effort as he tried his best to maintain the light curtain. "Hurry up, I can't hold on any longer!" Old Chen's voice became hoarse with fatigue and tension. He felt his strength slowly draining away.
Finally, Professor Li shouted excitedly: "Found it! Lin Yu, follow this order, starting from the symbol in the upper left corner, trigger it clockwise in sequence, with an interval of three seconds!" Professor Li's voice was full of joy and excitement, as if he had finally found the exit after groping in the dark for a long time.
Lin Yu took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. He carefully touched the symbols on the ancient mirror, following the order Professor Li had given him. When he touched the first symbol, the mirror vibrated slightly, emitting a low humming sound, as if a long-dormant beast had awakened. This humming echoed in the silent space, carrying a mysterious and ancient aura. As he triggered each symbol, the mirror's vibrations grew stronger, and the light grew more dazzling, blinding everyone.
The woman seemed to sense danger. She abandoned her attack on the light curtain and turned to rush madly towards Lin Yu. Her figure appeared even more ferocious and terrifying in the light, and her speed was several times faster than before. Just as she was about to pounce on Lin Yu, the ancient mirror suddenly burst into an intense light. This light was as dazzling as the sun, completely enveloping the woman. The woman screamed, her voice filled with fear and despair, her body twisting and struggling in the light, as if being pulled by an invisible and powerful force, trying to tear her apart.
