The Unknown Visitor
Everyone held their breath, their gaze fixed intently on the direction of the footsteps. The sound of their heartbeats was remarkably clear in the silence, each beat like a hammer striking their hearts. A figure gradually emerged from the mist, tall and distorted, as if distorted by the pervasive fog. It loomed, ghostly, making it impossible to discern its true form.
"What...what is this?" a team member asked, his voice trembling. His voice was filled with fear and confusion, and his body involuntarily shrank back. His eyes widened, trying to make out some clues from the vague outline, but all he saw was a hazy and unknown world.
Lin Yu signaled for silence. He gripped his weapon tightly, staring at the figure without blinking. His heartbeat raced, each beat tinged with fear of the unknown, yet his expression remained resolute. "Hold still, let's see what happens first," he muttered, trying to remain calm. He knew that in this situation, any impulsive action could have fatal consequences.
The figure drew closer, and I could finally make out a humanoid creature. It was draped in a worn animal hide, stained with dried blood and dirt, emitting a pungent, fishy odor. Its hair, tangled like dead grass, obscured most of its face, revealing only a pair of eyes filled with confusion and feral energy. Its body was strong and sturdy, its muscles bulging beneath its skin, as if imbued with boundless power.
"Don't be impulsive. Let's see what's going on first," Su Na whispered. Her voice was soft, but it was remarkably clear in the tense atmosphere. Her hands clutched the corners of her clothes tightly, her palms slick with sweat. Her gaze shifted between Lin Yu and the mysterious creature, her heart filled with uneasiness and worry.
The creature seemed to have noticed them, stopped, and confronted them. Time seemed to freeze at this moment, and both sides fell into a tense silence. Only the surrounding mist slowly moved, as if it also glimpsed the tense situation.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" The creature actually spoke, its voice low and hoarse, as if squeezed out from the depths of its throat. Its eyes were filled with vigilance and suspicion, as if it were scrutinizing these uninvited guests.
Lin Yu stepped forward. "We got trapped here by accident. Can you help us?" He tried to keep his voice calm and sincere, but his heart was filled with trepidation. He didn't know how this mysterious creature would react, nor did he know if it could be trusted.
The creature was silent for a moment, its gaze sweeping over the group, as if pondering something. "This is dangerous, not a place for you." Its voice carried a hint of helplessness and warning.
Lao Chen couldn't help but say, "Dangerous? Then can you tell us how to leave?" His voice was filled with eagerness and anxiety. He had had enough of this place full of unknowns and fears, and just wanted to find a way out as soon as possible.
The creature looked at them, a hint of hesitation in its eyes, "Follow me, but be careful." It turned and began to walk deeper into the forest.
Everyone looked at each other, filled with hesitation and worry. But with no other choice, they decided to follow.
Everyone followed the creature, observing their surroundings warily. The trees in the forest were tall and dense, their branches intertwined to form a green canopy. Mist swirled between the trees, obscuring vision. The ground was covered with thick fallen leaves and rotting branches, and every step made a dull sound, as if reminding them of the silence and danger here.
Suddenly, the roars of wild beasts could be heard all around. The sound was deep and fierce, like a roar from the depths of hell. The sound echoed through the forest, rustling the leaves.
"Oh no, something's wrong!" Lin Yu shouted. His voice was filled with tension and vigilance, and he gripped the weapon tighter.
The creature quickened its pace, "Hurry, follow me!" Its figure quickly shuttled through the fog, as if it was very familiar with the terrain here.
Everyone ran wildly through the jungle, the roar behind them growing closer and closer. Every breath was filled with fear and tension, and every step seemed like a race against death. Their footsteps echoed in the forest, shattering the silence.
"What the hell is this place!" a team member shouted as he ran, his voice full of despair and fear.
Suna's heartbeat was so fast that she felt like her lungs were about to explode, but she kept running. "I can't stop, I can't stop!" she kept saying to herself in her heart.
Old Chen gasped, "This sound... sounds like a group of wild beasts!"
Lin Yu observed his surroundings as he ran, trying to find a place to hide. "Everyone hang in there, we'll definitely find a way out!" he shouted to encourage his teammates.
However, the roaring sound behind them was getting closer and closer, as if the shadow of death had already loomed over their heads...
