749 Bureau: Exploring the Yellow Spring Road at Wawu Mountain (Part 2)
Shrouded in a gloomy mist, Lin Yu and his companions, filled with extreme nervousness and uneasiness, followed the direction indicated by the mysterious woman and slowly moved deeper into the path. The mist around them seemed to have life, constantly swirling and surging, sometimes condensing into strange shapes, and sometimes quickly dissipating, as if hinting at something, yet making it difficult to grasp.
Ouyang Zhenghao gripped his weapon tightly, his knuckles white from the strain. His eyes vigilantly scanned the mist for any possible danger. "Lin Yu, this trip has been incredibly spooky. Who was that woman who suddenly appeared and disappeared? I have a constant feeling like there are eyes watching us from the shadows. It's giving me the creeps," he said in a low voice, trying not to betray his inner fear.
Lin Yu's nerves were equally tense. He kept an eye on the surroundings and replied, "I don't know either, but one thing is certain: this Yellow Springs Road is by no means a simple natural phenomenon. There must be a complex supernatural force hidden behind it. All we can do now is proceed cautiously and respond accordingly."
As the group continued forward, the path grew increasingly rugged and difficult to navigate, and the surrounding trees grew more eerie. Branches intertwined, like twisted arms, trying to block their progress. Suddenly, one of the group members slipped and fell. As he struggled to his feet, he was horrified to find his hands covered in a sticky, rancid black liquid.
"What...what is this?" the team members shouted in horror, their voices trembling in the fog, filled with endless fear.
Everyone gathered around, looking at the black liquid, a sense of foreboding welling up in their hearts. Lin Yu squatted down and examined the liquid carefully. A pungent stench hit him, almost suffocating him. "This liquid is very strange, and seems to contain some evil aura. Everyone, be careful not to get it on you." He frowned, secretly pondering the origin of this strange liquid and its connection to the secrets of the Yellow Springs Road.
At that moment, a low roar rose from the mist, a dull yet powerful sound, as if emanating from the depths of the earth. Everyone was startled and quickly formed a circle, back to back, watching their surroundings vigilantly. "Prepare for battle! No matter what comes, we must not retreat!" Lin Yu shouted, energizing himself and his teammates.
As the roar grew closer, a massive black shadow gradually emerged from the mist. The figure was massive, more than two men tall, with sturdy, powerful limbs, like a moving mountain. When the shadow fully emerged before everyone, they were astonished to discover it was a monster resembling a black bear, covered in sharp barbs. Its eyes gleamed blood-red, brimming with bloodlust. Its gaping maw revealed sharp fangs, and saliva dripped from its corners, sizzling on the ground and instantly corroding small pits.
"What the hell is this thing?" Ouyang Zhenghao exclaimed. Although he was filled with fear, years of training allowed him to calm down quickly and get into a fighting stance.
Lin Yu quickly analyzed the situation, knowing full well that this monster wasn't a good person. "Everyone, listen up! This monster may look ferocious, but we can't panic. Ouyang Zhenghao, you attract its attention from the left, while the other team members and I look for opportunities to attack its weak points from the right. Remember, don't force your attack!"
Ouyang Zhenghao nodded, then shouted loudly and rushed to the monster's left. As he ran, he waved his weapon, trying to attract the monster's attention. As expected, the monster was attracted by Ouyang Zhenghao, roared, turned and pounced on him. Seeing this, Lin Yu led the other team members to quickly flank from the right. They approached the monster cautiously, searching for any weaknesses.
During their encounter with the monster, Lin Yu discovered that its abdomen was relatively soft, lacking sharp barbs. He seized the opportunity and shouted to his team, "Attack its abdomen!" The team members attacked the monster's abdomen, stabbing it with various weapons. The monster, sensing the pain in its abdomen, roared angrily, then turned and lunged at Lin Yu and the others. For a moment, the scene descended into chaos.
During the fierce battle, one team member was accidentally scratched by the monster's barbs, and blood immediately gushed out. The monster smelled the blood and became even more frantic, attacking even more fiercely. Lin Yu looked at the injured team member, feeling extremely anxious. "Everyone, hold on! We can't let our teammates get hurt in vain. We must defeat this monster!"
Just as everyone was beginning to feel overwhelmed, Lin Yu suddenly noticed that the monster's movements were slightly slow every time it turned, and that the joints of its hind legs seemed to be a key weakness. With an idea in mind, he shouted to Ouyang Zhenghao, "Ouyang, attack its hind leg joints! This might be the key to defeating it!"
Upon hearing this, Ouyang Zhenghao seized the moment the monster turned and rushed towards its hind legs like a flash of black lightning. He leaped high and fiercely stabbed the monster's hind leg joint with his weapon. With a painful roar, the monster's hind leg joint was successfully hit. Its body swayed several times and it almost fell to the ground.
Lin Yu and his team took the opportunity to increase their attack strength, launching a final charge towards the monster's weak point. With everyone's concerted efforts, the monster finally collapsed and turned into a puff of black smoke and dissipated in the mist.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as they gazed at the spot where the monster had vanished. But they knew this was only the beginning of their exploration of the Yellow Springs Road, and that more unknown dangers awaited them. After a brief rest, they continued along the path, their hearts filled with fear of the unknown and determination to uncover the truth...
