Chapter 418: Exploring the Seven-Story Demon Tower (Final Chapter)

749: Exploring the Seven-Story Demon Tower (Final Chapter)

With a resolute determination, Lin Yu and the others ascended the stairs to the seventh floor. The staircase was constructed of a cold, black stone. Each step was accompanied by a dull, heavy sound, like the sighs of the demonic tower, revealing the ancient, sinister secrets it held. A faint light flickered on the walls, like countless pairs of eyes hidden in the darkness, intently observing their every move, sending a chill down everyone's spine.

Ouyang Zhenghao looked around at the eerie and strange environment. His throat rolled unconsciously. He swallowed and said with a trembling voice: "Lin Yu, this seventh floor feels much more weird than the previous six floors combined. I don't know what kind of horror is waiting for us ahead." Although his eyes revealed tension and uneasiness, there was more of the perseverance and determination that came from going through so many hardships.

Lin Yu patted him on the shoulder, trying to convey strength and confidence, saying, "Don't overthink it. We've already come this far. No matter what lies ahead, completing the mission is the top priority." In reality, Lin Yu himself was filled with worry. But as the team leader, he knew he had to stabilize the team's morale and not let it be affected in the slightest.

When they finally reached the seventh floor, a powerful, ancient aura surged like a surging wave, tinged with a sickening evil and mystery that threatened to stifle everyone's breath. This floor was vast, yet shrouded in a thick, impenetrable black mist. The mist swirled and swelled like a vast, savage beast, its fangs bared and claws bared, as if possessing its own life. Deep within the mist, a strange, cold light flickered, as if countless evil eyes stared down at them from the darkness. It shuddered, as if every step led into an endless abyss.

Lin Yu quickly pulled out the ancient tome he'd painstakingly obtained from the sixth floor. In this space filled with evil, the tome emitted a faint, flickering light, as if waging a difficult and tenacious struggle against the powerful dark forces surrounding it. The words on the tome seemed to tremble slightly, as if they would be swallowed by the darkness at any moment.

"Everyone follow me closely. According to the instructions in the ancient books, we must find the seal core as soon as possible." Lin Yu said. His voice seemed a little ethereal in the mist, as if it would be drowned by this dark world at any time.

Everyone groped their way cautiously through the fog, each step filled with fear. From time to time, strange, eerie noises echoed around them. Sometimes, they sounded like deep, angry roars, as if some monstrous beast lurked in the darkness, ready to strike; other times, they sounded like painful, desperate moans, as if countless wronged souls were enduring endless torment in this dark abyss. These sounds intertwined like a symphony of death, straining everyone's nerves to the limit.

Suddenly, without warning, black lightning bolts shot out from the mist, like ferocious black dragons, slashing down at the group. Wherever the lightning passed, the air instantly ripped apart, emitting a piercing shriek. Seeing this, Lin Yu's face suddenly changed, and he shouted, "Scatter and hide! Quick!" Like frightened birds, the team members quickly scattered. The black lightning whizzed past everyone's bodies, hitting the ground with a sizzling sound, instantly scorching the ground and emitting a pungent burnt smell.

"What the hell is this thing?" a team member shouted in horror. His voice was full of fear and helplessness, which seemed particularly abrupt in this dark environment.

Lin Yu watched the raging black lightning bolts, knowing that this was the powerful force guarding the core of the seal, doing its utmost to stop them. "Everyone, be careful! The power of these lightning bolts is beyond imagination. We must quickly find their pattern and rush forward!" Lin Yu shouted as he dodged the lightning bolts.

Under the torrential onslaught of black lightning, everyone struggled to find their way forward. While frantically dodging, Lin Yu keenly noticed that before each flash of black lightning, the mist would slightly fluctuate, like the subtle ripples on the sea before a storm. He quickly shared this crucial discovery with the team, and they followed this pattern, racing against time to maneuver between the lightning strikes. Each strike of lightning made their hearts beat faster, as if they would be consumed by the terrifying force in the next second.

Finally, with tenacious will and precise timing, they successfully passed through the lightning zone and arrived in front of a huge circular platform. The platform was covered with complex and mysterious runes, which emitted a faint red glow, like tiny drops of blood, as if telling an ancient and evil spell. In the center of the platform, a huge black vortex, like a beast with a bloody mouth, spun madly. From it, a heart-pounding suction force came, as if it wanted to mercilessly devour everything in the world.

"This should be the core of the seal," Lin Yu said, staring intently at the black vortex, his eyes revealing solemnity and worry. Although ancient books detailed the methods of reinforcing the seal, facing such a powerful and strange suction force, successfully implementing it would be extremely difficult.

At this moment, countless black tentacles suddenly surged out of the vortex like a tide. These tentacles were covered in a layer of sticky mucus and exuded a sickening stench of decay. The tentacles waved wildly in the air, like a group of mad venomous snakes, clawing at everyone fiercely.
