Chapter 438: The Fight in the Ancient Yunnan Cave (Part 1)

After leaving the village chief's house, Lin Yu and his companions decided to investigate the area surrounding the cave without delay. They followed the winding mountain path, traversed by lush trees that blocked out the sun. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows like countless pairs of prying eyes. The occasional bird call seemed strangely abrupt and unsettling in the silence of the forest, like some ominous omen.

As they approached the cave, a piercing chill washed over them, as if an invisible hand were gently caressing their spines, sending shivers down their spines. The cave entrance was obscured by layers of vines and weeds, making it difficult to detect without careful observation. From deep within the cavern, faint sounds could be heard. The sound was indistinct, like someone weeping softly in the darkness, or like some mysterious incantation echoing in the air, sending a chill down their spines.

Ouyang Zhenghao clenched his weapon, which gleamed coldly in the dim light, as if sensing its owner's inner tension. He glanced around warily and whispered, "Lin Yu, there's an evil aura about this place. I feel like countless pairs of eyes are watching us from the shadows. I feel uneasy all over." Ouyang Zhenghao's voice trembled slightly. Despite his efforts to conceal it, the deep-seated fear was hard to suppress.

Lin Yu nodded, signaling everyone to remain alert. He carefully pushed aside the vines at the entrance of the cave and looked into the cave. The cave was pitch black, like a bottomless black hole, swallowing all the light, and nothing could be seen. Chen Yao took out a flashlight, and a pale light instantly shot into the cave, illuminating a small area. I saw that the stone walls of the cave were engraved with all kinds of strange symbols and patterns. Those symbols were distorted, as if they were forcibly twisted by an invisible force, and every line exuded a weird aura. Some of those patterns looked like demons with bared fangs and claws, and some looked like human figures struggling in pain. They seemed to be wriggling slightly under the light, as if they would break free from the stone wall at any time.

"These symbols and patterns appear extremely ancient and exude an indescribable eeriness. Their existence is by no means accidental; they are likely inextricably linked to the strange phenomena occurring within the cave," Chen Yao said, her eyes gleaming with curiosity, yet more deeply concerned. As an expert in the occult, she had seen countless bizarre symbols and patterns, but these, she found, filled her with an unprecedented sense of bewilderment and fear.

Lin Yu carefully observed these symbols and patterns, thinking to himself: "Could these symbols and patterns be the traces left by the wizards' battles in the past? Or are they the root cause of the strange phenomena in the cave now? Or are they some kind of warning to prevent people from approaching this dangerous place? The mystery is too deep. We must find the answer as soon as possible, otherwise we may fall into an irretrievable situation." At this moment, a huge noise suddenly came from the depths of the cave, as if some huge monster was approaching them quickly. The sound kept echoing in the narrow cave, making their eardrums hurt...
