Lin Yu and Ouyang Zhenghao quickly climbed toward the cave's ceiling. The walls were rugged, covered in sharp rocks and slippery moss, making the climb extremely difficult. They used both hands and feet, carefully scrambling with each step to avoid alerting the monster and ruining their progress. The monster, seemingly aware of their intentions, struggled within the symbols, roaring angrily, attempting to break free and stop them. Its roars echoed throughout the cave, stinging everyone's eardrums and heightening the tension within.
Finally, Lin Yu and Ouyang Zhenghao reached the stalactite. They struck the stalactite where it met the cave ceiling with their weapons. With each blow, cracks began to appear. Each blow was accompanied by the monster's angry roar, as if warning them to stop. Meanwhile, the monster had managed to break free from some of the symbols and rushed towards them. Its speed grew faster and faster, the light shimmering from it intensified, and the black mist thickened, seemingly threatening to engulf the entire cave.
"Hurry, push harder, or we'll all die here!" Lin Yu shouted as he hammered away at the stalactites. His voice was hoarse from the strain, but his eyes held a steely determination. Ouyang Zhenghao gritted his teeth and, exerting all his strength, hammered his weapon against the stalactites again and again. Sweat drenched his back and streamed down his cheeks.
The monster approached rapidly, its massive claws raised high, ready to claw at Lin Yu and Ouyang Zhenghao. At this critical moment, the stalactite finally couldn't withstand the two men's blows and crashed down from the cave ceiling. With tremendous force, the stalactite slammed into the monster like a giant meteor.
"Get out of the way!" Lin Yu yelled, and he and Ouyang Zhenghao quickly jumped to the sides. The massive stalactite, accompanied by a whistling sound, slammed down on the monster. A dull thud followed, and dust and debris flew through the cave. The monster, crushed beneath the stalactite, roared in agony, its voice filled with anger and resentment.
After the dust cleared slightly, Lin Yu and the others took a closer look. Although the monster had been hit by the stalactite, it didn't seem to have suffered a fatal injury. It struggled to crawl out from under the stalactite. Many of its black scales had fallen off, revealing dark red flesh underneath. Green blood continued to flow from the wound. Its eyes flashed with a mad light, staring at Lin Yu and the others intently, as if wanting to devour them alive.
Lin Yu frowned, knowing full well that he had to completely destroy the monster while it was weak. Otherwise, if it recovered, the consequences would be disastrous. "We can't give it a chance to breathe!" Lin Yu shouted, charging towards the monster first. Ouyang Zhenghao and Shen Yao followed closely behind, their eyes filled with determination, determined to fight the monster to the bitter end.
The three approached the monster, ready to launch a final attack. However, at that moment, the monster suddenly ceased its struggles, and its body began to emit a strange light. The light grew stronger and stronger, almost blinding the crowd. The light spread throughout the cave like a substance, illuminating the entire cave like daylight, but this light also carried an eerie aura that made people feel creepy.
"What's going on?" Chen Yao shouted in surprise. She covered her eyes with her hands, trying to see the situation clearly.
Lin Yu had an ominous premonition in his heart: "Oh no, it may be trying to self-destruct or something like that, let's get out of here!" He realized that the monster may be making a desperate attempt to die with them.
Just as everyone turned to flee, the light suddenly vanished. When they looked back, the monster was gone, replaced by a figure clad in a black robe. He emanated a powerful, sinister aura that caused the temperature in the cave to drop by several degrees.
"You mortals, how dare you ruin my plan." The man in black robe said coldly. His voice seemed to come from the Nine Nether Hell, full of endless chill, cutting everyone's eardrums like an ice knife.
Lin Yu looked at the man in black robe warily, his heart full of doubts and vigilance, and asked: "Who are you? What is your relationship with this monster? Why are you making trouble in this cave?" Lin Yu knew very well that the man in black robe in front of him was by no means a good person. There must be a close connection between him and the monster, and behind all this, there may be a huge conspiracy.
The black-robed figure sneered, his laughter like the cry of a night owl, echoing through the cave and sending shivers down one's spine. "I am the wizard sealed here, and this monster is merely a tool I use to protect my secret. I never imagined that outsiders like you could get this far." A hint of surprise and anger lingered in the black-robed figure's eyes. He had thought his plans were foolproof, only to have them cracked step by step by Lin Yu and the others.
Lin Yu was shocked. He had never imagined that the black-robed figure before him was the same wizard who had been sealed away after losing the duel. "What secret are you trying to protect? And why did you hurt those innocent villagers? They have nothing to do with your secret. You're being cruel!" Lin Yu asked angrily. He couldn't understand the black-robed figure's actions. For the sake of a so-called secret, he had harmed so many innocent lives.
A hint of ruthlessness flashed in the eyes of the man in black robe, and he said in a cold voice like a poisonous snake: "Once this secret is leaked, it will cause chaos in the world. Those villagers are nothing but ants, and their death is not a pity. In order to protect this secret, I will do everything possible." There was no mercy in the tone of the man in black robe. In his eyes, the lives of the villagers were like grass.
