Chapter 444: The Mystery of the Missing Train (Part 2)

The Mystery of the Missing Mystery Train (Part 2)

Lin Yu and the other two were suddenly sucked into the train by the powerful suction force. They felt dizzy and their bodies seemed to be moving uncontrollably through the dark passage. Various flashing lights and shadows quickly passed before their eyes, accompanied by a sharp whistling sound, as if it was the train's painful wail. This sudden change left them with no time to react, and they could only subconsciously protect their vital parts.

When they finally regained their balance, they found themselves in the aisle of a train. The lights within the carriage were dim and flickering, as if they would go out completely at any moment, plunging them into an endless abyss of darkness. With each flicker, the shadows within the carriage danced like ghosts, adding a gloomy and terrifying atmosphere to the entire space.

"Everyone, be careful. Something doesn't feel right in this car," Lin Yu whispered. His eyes scanned the surroundings warily, his hand unconsciously tightening around his weapon. He could clearly hear his own heartbeat echoing through the silent car, each beat a reminder that danger was just around the corner. A strong sense of unease welled up in him. The eerie atmosphere permeating the car gave him a premonition that the next exploration would be fraught with danger.

Ouyang Zhenghao followed Lin Yu closely, his eyes fixed on the seats in the carriage. The seats were empty, but some passengers' belongings were still in place: coats casually draped over the backs of chairs, newspapers scattered on the table, and luggage bags tilted to the side. This strange scene seemed as if time had suddenly stopped at a certain moment, and the passengers suddenly disappeared without any warning. "Where did all these passengers go? Why is there no one here?" Ouyang Zhenghao's voice was filled with confusion and fear. All kinds of horrific images emerged in his mind. What happened to those missing passengers? Were they instantly taken away by some mysterious force, or did they fall into a deeper unknown predicament?

Chen Yao carefully observed the walls of the train carriage and discovered strange patterns that seemed to connect to the symbols they had previously seen. The patterns appeared faintly, as if revealing a hidden secret in the darkness. "Perhaps these patterns can tell us why the train is here and where the passengers are going," Chen Yao said, her eyes gleaming with concentration and thought. As an expert in the occult, she knew these seemingly mysterious patterns could be the key to solving the mystery. Although she was also filled with fear, her desire for the truth made her strive to remain calm and try to decipher the hidden message from these patterns.

At that moment, a faint cry emanated from the far end of the carriage. The sobbing, like a plaintive cry, echoed through the dimly lit carriage, its voice rising and falling, like a lament from another world, a chilling feeling. Lin Yu and the others exchanged glances, each seeing tension and vigilance in the other's eyes. They slowly walked toward the source of the crying. With each step, the sobbing grew clearer, and a sense of foreboding spread throughout them, as if an unimaginable horror awaited them.

When they reached the end of the train, they realized the sobbing was coming from a closed attendant's room. Lin Yu took a deep breath, calmed himself, and slowly pushed the door open. The door hinges creaked, a sound that was particularly jarring in the silent train compartment, as if breaking some taboo. Behind the door, a woman in a train attendant's uniform huddled in a corner, her body trembling, her hands tightly clutching her knees. The sobbing came from her.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" Lin Yu asked softly, trying to calm the woman. He tried to keep his voice soft, but in the atmosphere of fear, it still seemed a little stiff. He was filled with questions: Why was this woman crying alone? Did she know the truth about the missing train? Had she witnessed the passengers disappear?

The woman slowly raised her head, her face filled with fear, her eyes hollow, tears streaking down her cheeks. "I... I don't know. I just remember a sudden burst of bright light halfway through the train, so blinding it was blinding. Then we arrived here. Afterward, the passengers disappeared one by one. I was terrified..." the woman choked out, her voice trembling, as if every word drained her strength.

Lin Yu frowned and continued, "Did you see anything strange? Or hear any unusual sounds? Any details could be important to us." Lin Yu knew that in such a bizarre incident, any tiny detail could be the key to solving the mystery. He was filled with anticipation, hoping that the woman could provide some useful clues to help them unravel this mystery.

The woman thought for a moment, a look of fear in her eyes. She said, "Before the bright light appeared, I seemed to hear a strange buzzing sound, like... like a lot of insects flying. The sound became louder and louder, making people panic. Then, the train began to shake violently, and then everyone disappeared."

Chen Yao's mind raced, and she said, "Buzzing? It's very similar to the sound made by the butterfly-like creatures we encountered earlier in the void. Could they be the key to the train's disappearance?" Chen Yao's mind quickly connected various clues, realizing that this buzzing sound could be a key to solving the mystery of the missing train. But the truth behind it, and the connection between those butterfly-like creatures and the train's disappearance, remained shrouded in mystery.

Lin Yu nodded and said, "It's very likely. It seems that everything is closely connected. We must find a way to get the train out of here and retrieve the passengers. But behind all this, there seems to be a powerful and mysterious force hidden. We must proceed with caution." Lin Yu knew that they seemed to be getting closer and closer to the truth, but the road ahead was also becoming more and more dangerous. How powerful was that mysterious force hidden behind the scenes, and whether they could successfully solve the mystery and save the passengers? Everything was unknown.
