The Roar of the Unknown
The deep roar continued to echo through the forest, like a roar from the depths of hell, carrying with it boundless rage and fury. The sound waves surged through the air, shaking the leaves, as if even the air around them was distorted by the terrifying sound. Each roar was like a hammer striking the hearts of the people, as if to shatter their very souls.
"That sounds like a giant beast. Can we handle it?" a team member asked, his voice trembling. His legs trembled, his face was pale, and his eyes were filled with extreme fear and anxiety. "Should we run away? Maybe there's still a chance of survival." Horrifying scenarios played out in his mind, imagining how the unknown beast would tear them to pieces.
Lin Yu feigned composure. Although he was equally filled with fear, as the group's backbone, he couldn't let it show. "Don't scare yourself. Let's see what happens first." He took a deep breath, trying to make his voice sound firm and powerful. "We've survived so many dangers, and we'll definitely find a way to deal with this one, too." He prayed silently in his heart, hoping his judgment was correct, while also encouraging himself. "Maybe this is just a bluff, not that scary." He tried to dispel the fear in his heart with such thoughts.
Everyone nervously approached the direction of the sound, taking each step with caution. Their footsteps were remarkably clear in the silent forest, like a countdown to death. The ground beneath their feet was damp and soft, and every step was filled with the fear of falling into some unknown trap. The surrounding trees were tall and gloomy, their branches intertwined, forming a dark canopy that made people feel extremely oppressive.
At that moment, Suna spotted massive footprints, deeply sunken into the earth, a testament to the creature's immense weight. Her heartbeat raced, threatening to burst from her throat. "What kind of monster left these?" Suna cried in horror. Her voice trembled almost inaudibly, her eyes fixed on the footprints, as if she could see the monster's hideous features within them. "These footprints are larger than all of us combined. How can we possibly defeat them?" Despair filled her, her heart pounding, and she felt she had reached the end of her life.
Old Chen swallowed, trying to calm his nerves. "Never mind, we'll see what happens," he said with feigned composure, but his hands, gripping his weapon, trembled constantly, betraying his inner fear. "It's come to this. There's no point in retreating. I have to fight." He mentally encouraged himself. Although he didn't know what he was about to face, he had already prepared for the worst.
Suddenly, the forest ahead shook, and the sound of branches snapping was crisp and harsh. A massive figure loomed, and with each movement, the surrounding trees were pushed aside like fragile grass.
"Prepare for battle!" Lin Yu shouted. His voice was especially resounding at this moment, and he tried to inspire everyone with his courage. "We can't just sit there and wait for death. Only by fighting can we survive!" His eyes burned with determination, and he gripped his weapon even tighter.
Everyone drew their weapons and stood ready. Their breathing was rapid and heavy, their heartbeats thundering in their ears. Each face was filled with tension and fear, but also with a hint of determination and unyielding spirit.
As the figure gradually became clearer, everyone saw that it was a behemoth unlike any they had ever seen. Its body was enormous, as vast as a small mountain, and its body was covered in hard scales that gleamed with a cold sheen in the dim light, like an indestructible suit of armor. Each scale was the size of a palm, its edges as sharp as a knife, a chilling sight. Its eyes were like blazing fireballs, emitting a fury and murderous intent that made anyone afraid to look directly at it. The beast's limbs were thick and powerful, and every movement shook the ground, leaving deep footprints in its wake.
"Oh my God!" someone couldn't help but exclaim. His voice was filled with despair and fear, as if he had already seen his own tragic end. "This is simply beyond our ability to handle!" His legs gave way, and he nearly collapsed to the ground.
The beast opened its bloody maw and roared with a roar that seemed to rend the sky. A foul stench erupted from its mouth, sending turmoil through the stomach. The sound waves assaulted everyone's eardrums, causing them to ring and feel dizzy.
"Don't be afraid, everyone! Let's go!" Lin Yu rushed forward first. He had only one thought in mind: not to retreat, not to let his teammates lose hope. "Even if I die, I must die with dignity!" He shouted in his heart, running towards the behemoth with determined steps.
Suna and Lao Chen looked at each other and rushed forward immediately.
"Let's fight!" Old Chen roared.
"We can't let this succeed!" Suna shouted.
Everyone attacked the behemoth. Their cries echoed through the forest, blending with the beast's roar to create a thrilling symphony of battle... But their attacks were like a tickle to the beast. With a swipe of its massive claws, it easily sent one of the team members flying...
