Chapter 450 The Mysterious Broken Head Mountain (Part 1)

The Mysterious Broken Head Mountain (Part 1)

After successfully resolving the "Meat Lotus" incident in Tibet, Lin Yu, Ouyang Zhenghao, and Shen Yao from Bureau 749 barely had a moment to enjoy their peace before a bizarre incident lured them into a new spiral of mystery. An urgent report from a remote mountainous area in Guizhou landed quietly on the bureau chief's desk, like a shadow shrouded in unknown fear. The report detailed a terrifying and eerie peak deep within the Guizhou mountains. Its summit, as if shattered by an uncanny and powerful force with an incredibly sharp blade, had been neatly shaved off. Locals, horrified, dubbed it "Broken Head Mountain." Even more bizarre, within the mountain lay a mysterious 50-meter-tall cave, its walls densely engraved with bizarre patterns and symbols, as if telling of a horrific past forgotten by time.

The director is well aware that behind such supernatural phenomena there are often huge dangers and unknown secrets. The outstanding ability demonstrated by Lin Yu and his team in handling the "Meat Lotus" incident made him send them to Guizhou again without hesitation to conduct an in-depth investigation.

Lin Yu and the other two set out on the journey to Guizhou with heavy hearts. The road was rugged and bumpy, and the mountains on either side rolled and undulated, like silent giants, silently observing their arrival. As they approached their destination, the surrounding atmosphere became increasingly mysterious and oppressive, as if invisible eyes were watching their every move from the darkness.

Finally, they arrived at the scene, nestled among mountains. Shrouded in mist, the mountains loomed in the air, creating a dreamlike yet shrouded in danger. They found their local guide, Lao Wang, a simple, honest local who knew every inch of the mountainous terrain. However, at the mention of "Broken Head Mountain," a flicker of fear crossed Lao Wang's weathered face, his eyes revealing a deep dread.

"Everyone, this Broken Head Mountain is very spooky!" Old Wang said in a low voice as he led them into the mountain. His voice echoed in the silent forest, as if he was afraid of disturbing some mysterious existence hidden in the dark. "I heard from the older generation that the top of the mountain was originally fine. One night, there was suddenly a deafening roar. The sound was like the sky collapsing and the earth splitting, and the whole village trembled. The next morning, everyone went out to look, and the top of the mountain was gone, as if it had disappeared out of thin air, leaving only a smooth incision. Later, someone bravely entered the cave, and when he came out, he became crazy, muttering something that no one could understand, and died a few days later. Since then, no one has dared to approach that mountain again."

Lin Yu listened to Old Wang's story, his brows furrowed tightly into the shape of the Chinese character "川". He thought to himself, "This does sound unusual. Such neat cuts could not be caused by natural forces. It seems this mission may be more difficult than we imagined." He turned to look at Ouyang Zhenghao and Shen Yao, and said solemnly, "Everyone, be careful. Judging from Old Wang's description, there may be supernatural forces behind this. We must remain vigilant and pay attention to every detail around us. Any clue may be the key to solving the mystery."

Ouyang Zhenghao tightly grasped the equipment in his hands, his eyes revealing a hint of excitement and anticipation, and he shouted: "No matter what kind of mysterious power it is, we have to figure this out. Maybe I can encounter some strange things this time, just right for me to see them!" Although Ouyang Zhenghao acted fearless, in this deep mountain full of unknowns, he couldn't help feeling nervous in his heart. His palms were slightly sweaty, and he unconsciously tightened the weapon in his hand.

Chen Yao observed her surroundings intently. She noticed symbols similar to those described in the report carved into the trees along the way, though they had become blurred by the passage of time. "These symbols seem to convey some kind of message, and they're so widespread. It seems this mountain's secrets are even more complex than we imagined," she muttered to herself as she recorded the symbols. She was filled with questions: what exactly did these symbols represent? And how was their connection to the disappearance of the mountaintop?

After several hours of arduous trekking, they finally reached the foot of Broken Head Mountain. Looking up, the mountain below the midsection looked like any other, lush and vibrant with vegetation. However, the summit seemed as if precisely cut by a sharp blade, the cut incredibly smooth, as if wrought by an invisible, giant hand from hell. The sunlight reflected a cold, eerie glow that sent shivers down your spine.

"This...this is incredible. What kind of power could achieve such a smooth cut?" Ouyang Zhenghao exclaimed, his eyes filled with shock and fear. At this moment, he felt a surge of intense curiosity, mixed with a hint of unease. He couldn't wait to uncover the mystery of this mountain, but he also had a vague fear of the unknown dangers he would soon face.

Lin Yu carefully examined the edge of the cut and discovered that the rock texture there was extremely strange, completely unlike any natural formation. The rock's cross-section was as smooth as a mirror, and the texture exhibited a regular spiral pattern, as if imbued with some mysterious order. "This is definitely not an ordinary geological phenomenon. It seems our suspicions were correct. There must be something supernatural at work here," Lin Yu said, his eyes revealing a resolute determination to solve this mystery, even if the road ahead was thorny.

Chen Yao searched the surrounding area for clues that might link to the mountaintop's disappearance. She discovered some large rocks at the foot of the mountain, each carved with strange patterns. These patterns seemed to be intrinsically connected to the symbols she had seen on the trees, yet even more complex, like fragments of an ancient language. "These rocks might hold the key to solving the mystery. We must study them carefully," Chen Yao said. She squatted down and gently touched the patterns on the rocks, trying to sense the hidden message. The patterns were jagged and uneven, as if they had a life of their own, conveying a mysterious and ancient aura beneath her fingertips.
